Manufactured concern is a bit ridiculous.  50 points is easily safe. 6 points from 11 games.  The last 5 games we have 6 points. However, if we are close to the relegation places at the end of the season that might make them think about giving Manning anymore time. Maybe that’s the best we can hope for

If we're very close to it at the end of the season Manning will be long gone.

We’re stuck though. There is no way that JL and BT will want to lose face.

We’ll give him millions and he’ll have a poor start next season. We’ll replace him and write off the season.

Short of us barely picking up another point this season and thus getting into a relegation battle, this is the most likely outcome.

    They wont sack Manning.

    DEFINITELY wont sack Tinnion.

Jonny Crayon its his dads club.

A few thousand season cards not being renewed will get the message to the arrogant *****.

Whether they heed that message is debateable, but a L1 BCFC is worth less than a Champ one so think about that "Sir Steve".

Disagree with your first sentence. Tinnion will 100% throw Manning under the bus if it saves his own skin.

Reminds me of Michael Duff at Swansea, just not the right fit and because that fit wasn't right Swansea now paying for that.

Ironically Manning has had the same amount of games as Duff this season and their records are almost identical.

Both of them would be a better fit at each other's club.

I'm convinced Swansea would have gone for Manning if he hadn't just come here when they got rid of Duff.

Yep, he knows he’s safe with Lansdown whatever happens this season. They are in for a shock if we lose Saturday and then again against Swansea.

    But they're not, are they?

We'll see. Different intensity in U21 vs first team especially potentially a local derby.

I hope he is fit, because a fully fit Naismith could be a real asset..no point in adding decent players if they are hardly ever available!

What I mean is that if he was going to rush him when he's not quite there, it would have happened last weekend after the U21 game.

In respect of Naismith, here is what I fear could happen.

Manning coming under a bit of pressure, possibly can noise but hear all the same.

Players who are close to ready he brings back. Perhaps Naismith starts or more likely on the bench

Great, but not fully ready, under pressure (or feeling under pressure) to get a result Naismith comes on...and tweaks something. Tweak turns to injury

Out for weeks if not months.

I think that scenario would already have happened if it was going to, given that he played for the U21s a couple of weeks ago.

Stokes has been training with us then? Assumed he wouldn't arrive til the end of the season with Aldershot...

I think he's been doing one day a week with us when Aldershot don't have a midweek game. Same with Palmer-Houlden.

One positive on the injury front has been the return to training of Ayman Benarous with the young midfielder having experienced nearly two years of injury misery following two ACLs and then hamstring issues since the autumn which have delayed his intended comeback.

The 20-year-old who last played for City on April 30, 2022, has trained over the last two weeks at the HPC with the intensity of his sessions being gradually increased and Manning hopes the playmaker can be involved in an U21s soon to further build up his fitness, with the end goal being a first-team appearance before the end of the season.

“With the duration he’s been out, you don’t want to force it, rush it and set him back, you do have to be careful,” Manning said. “Getting him increased minutes in 21s games, upping his workload with us in training and if he responds to the fixtures, then I’m hopeful.”
