I'd bet my mortgage on the "source" for this being Warnock, via his agent.

Reading the Cardiff forums after last weekend, there's a fair few of their fans who hold Warnock partly responsible for their current state due to them being stuck with several of his ageing players on big contracts.

Just as well we've not signed him to play up front then really.

I remember going to watch Limerick v Cork when I was out there a few years ago. The standout player was Rory Gaffney who was up front for Limerick, who came over here later that year to sign for Cambridge then spent a couple of years at the Gas and then Salford without ever being particularly prolific (avergaed about 1 goal in 4 across his time in England). He's back home now playing for Shamrock.

Highly frustrating. You can see the improvement in a lot of things we do, but we make life hard for ourselves by consistently giving really poor, preventable goals away.

Yep. The new boss has talked about wanting to move away from that to a more expansive passing style, but he's having to try and do it with players who were recruited by previous managers. Whether he'll get the chance to do it is doubtful.
