  1. Leach is on standby, apparently. Sibley and Crawley have also been dropped, Malan recalled. England Men's Third Test Squad: Joe Root (Yorkshire) Captain, Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire), Rory Burns (Surrey), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Sam Curran (Surrey), Haseeb Hameed (Nottinghamshire), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Dawid Malan (Yorkshire), Craig Overton (Somerset), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Mark Wood (Durham)
  2. What happened this morning set the tone and mood for this afternoon, that's the point.
  3. Game was lost this morning. We know the batting isn't good enough, however that hour and a half up to lunch was the most inept display of bowling and captaincy I think I've ever seen from an England side, and there's been a few contenders during Root's tenure. Wonderful batsman, absolutely out of his depth as a captain.
  4. Not really. It was tight enough to be umpire's call.
  5. Surprised India are still batting after lunch. No chance that England are going to seriously chase this and it's quite dark already.
  6. They were more interested in picking a fight with Bumrah when he came in than bowling properly and trying to get him out. Moronic stuff.
  7. I think that means Surrey v Glos and Essex v Yorks, with the winners going to Durham and Glamorgan in the semis.
  8. This has got 500+ declared then us 30-2 by close of play tomorrow written all over it.
  9. Essex needed 21 off 4 balls - Harmer went 6,6,6,2. Match tied, Lancs out, Glos through.
  10. Glos looking good to qualify. Lancs paying the price for treating the first half of our innings like it was a 4-day game.
  11. You would think that there's no chance Jimmy plays if he isn't 100%, especially with Broad being out for the rest of the summer. Plus we're going to bowl first. This being England however, I'm fully expecting him to pull up within 5 overs and be done for the series.
  12. Yes, unless Overton is there with the expectation of batting in the top 3...
  13. I'm not so sure he'd be ahead of Overton, depends on what they want from the attack on any given day. I don't think it's a deliberate thing, but if they can call people in at a day's notice with the intention of playing them (Moeen), clearly they don't need this enlarged squad of players to cover all bases and should be picking accordingly.
  14. Broad is an injury doubt after hurting his calf in training yesterday, Mahmood has been added to the squad as cover. Dom Bess has been released to go and play for Yorkshire.
  15. I think what's particularly galling is the number of people who claim to understand that this is a mess that won't be fixed quickly and that they're prepared to be paitient, yet in reality as soon as we have a setback the toys come out of the pram and they're declaring that we might as well not bother with the rest of the season because we're already relegated and won't ever win a game again and that everyone involved needs sacking/selling. If you're going to be that way then fine, but don't pretend beforehand that you're okay with the process when you clearly aren't.
  16. Look, just admit you want him sacked instead of all these little digs that are dressed up as constructive. It'll make things easier for all of us.
  17. I'm fairly certain we conceded an equaliser right at the end of that one too?
