the boneheads who are supposed to look after us fans
Northern Red replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
Plus Rovers and Derby both play again tonight, so them playing Sunday would have meant causing further disruption by shifting those games to tomorrow. -
the boneheads who are supposed to look after us fans

Because sometimes it's unavoidable, the EFL fixture list doesn't revolve around us. -
Just finished listening to it on catch-up. I deliberately haven't read any of the comments on here before doing so and tried to approach it with as open a mind as I could. The presenter did a better job than I was expecting. Not in Twentyman's league and there were some obvious follow-up questions that weren't asked, but it certainly wasn't the soft touch interview that I think we all feared and he didn't give him an easy ride. Tinnion did not come across well, to put it mildly. I don't doubt that he cares deeply about the club and is trying to do his best, but he was defensive, occasionally bordering on snappy and bore all the hallmarks of somebody who deep down knows that he's been promoted beyond his capabilities despite the protestations to the contrary, and I think he is feeling the pressure. That doesn't mean I disagree with everything he said and there were some useful bits in there, but the general tone was one of contradictions and goalpost shifting. It sounds like Manning is going nowhere soon, but would anybody be that shocked if they had another change of heart? Of course that call may come from above Brian, depending on how much interest SL is showing.

The result was always more important than the performance today, which is just as well because until the goal it was as bad as anything we've produced in the last few months. -

I think we know how this one ends. Just a question of when they get it. -
All part of the performative outrage competition that's been running on here for the last few weeks.

You can't just leave it there...

Yep, and this is where it moves beyond genuine, legitimate criticism of his current work to just inventing stuff to slag him off about. That's not right.

Yeah, because my post certainly gives that impression.... Fine, carry on shouting into the void. But they aren't going to pay any attention to it.

Warnock stays on.... Now gone again
Northern Red replied to Dastardly and Muttley's topic in Football Chat
There'll be people on here still wanting Warnock to manage us after he's long dead. -
Lads, I think we all know that it "shouldn't be like this", no need to keep repeating it ad nauseum. Do our job and it won't matter what everyone else does.

Correct, he's confirmed as much himself. -
Just what we knead.

Yep. There is not a chance that McCullum is telling him to go out and do that.
-
Because we've lost 4 games on the spin so everyone and everything at the club is wrong. Getting beyond ******* tedious tbh.

I've had a couple of quid on Ngannou by ko/stoppage for that very reason.

Hang on, wasn't Naismith potentially due to be available last weekend?

Jamie Paterson - unknown Swansea future - BBC Article

Yep. Nice lad, on his day as good as anyone in the division but not consistent enough. -
If we didn't have to pay him until the end of the season I reckon we'd probably call it off now.

The two spinners have enhanced their reputation if nothing else. Hopefully they get the chance to play some county cricket, the ECB could help facilitate that by encouraging teams to produce pitches that spin instead of deducting points for it.

Have a day off FFS. Utterly tedious.

Well done lads. These put Man Utd out so they're no mugs. Do we know when the semi is? Might have a trip over that way for it.
