  1. It’s been financed with a secured loan from Nationwide. Finance Ltd. If Alf Saeed is extremely wealthy why hasn’t he paid that off or refinanced at a lower rate than 12% ?
  2. Rovers midweek game in doubt due to inadequate floodlighting.
  3. I believe "amgas" is the nom de plume of Mr Al-Quidi himself. "Finnished bums will be on the seats" is a well known phrase in Amman as well as Helsinki.
  4. Thank goodness for that I thought they'd buggered off back to Kuwait.
  5. You still haven’t told us why that old lady swallowed a fly.
  6. Further up the pages there is some confusion about the role of the secretary which I hope I can clarify. The company secretary deals with corporate governance and is responsible for filing relevant documents at Companies House. The club secretary deals with football matters and is responsible for filing relevant documents with the football authorities. The personal secretary deals with personal matters and is responsible for keeping senior management satisfied. As an example of the latter I've inserted a 1957 vintage photograph of my own personal secretary Marjorie receiving the news that I was on my way back from Liverpool with a point in the bag.
  7. We kept all that behind closed doors in my day.
  8. Because the lady acting as Rovers club secretary has no experience in football. She runs her own business providing HR services to small companies in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and S Wales. https://www.louisesmith-hr.com/
  9. Deal off. Our fax machine broke down.
  10. Mr Johnson Jnr has just been spotted at LHR boarding flight KU102 to KWI.
  11. A few weeks ago I jokingly posted about ARRRSE (Alton Road Residents Resisting Stadium Enlargement) just for a bit of fun. But it's actually now come to pass that there is a group of articulate and motivated local residents which is determined to make sure the Council follow the planning regulations to the letter of the law. These people are mainly non-political and not connected to the Green Party so Rovers trying to shove all the blame in that direction is another howler which will more than likely backfire.
  12. Has work stopped because of the serving of an enforcement notice ?
  13. Well it is confusing when we were told young Alf is a director of a professional football club in Kuwait but he doesn’t mention this on his LinkedIn profile. https://kw.linkedin.com/in/abdullatif-alsaeed-006535b7
  14. Our liability insurers would walk away leaving Mr Gorringe and Mr Al-Quidi to face the music. Alf Saeed is lurking in the background but he's not currently an officer of the company.
  15. July 29th 2021 The letter of the club’s president read: “The past four days have been tough for us all and I have seen first-hand that there is a division within the fanbase which is not what we want heading into a new season. “Firstly, I think it is really important to confirm that as a club we stand firmly against any form of violence. “Any individual that is found guilty of any such offenses will be dismissed immediately. June 26th 2023 Bristol Rovers have signed forward Jevani Brown on a two-year deal following his release by Exeter City. The 28-year-old was suspended by the Grecians in February and has not played since after being charged with assaulting two women. He admitted one charge in March and is awaiting trial on the second, which he denies, in July.
  16. You mean more democratic, free and prosperous than Kuwait ?
  17. Isn't it about more than tax loopholes though ? There are bread riots in Jordan, tens of thousands are living in squalor in refugee camps and the government has just passed a law allowing them to imprison those who protest about corruption amongst the country's elite. So in these circumstances wouldn't the supporters of an upstanding Jordanian citizen who has chosen to spend £30 million on a third division football club in a faraway land while his fellow countrymen starve be best advised to keep quiet about it ?
  18. Didn't Slarti poke you in the eye with a Wills Whiff ?
  19. But the Führer hasn't taken account of losses on the eastern front ( Olney, Buckinghamshire) Nationwide Finance Ltd still have their multi million pound loan outstanding for the bunker that never was.
  20. The ball would roll faster if it stopped for a quick shine at Blue Ginkgo Massages. I know I did.
  21. So, farewell then, Sherpa Bright They stepped over your stricken body in their rush to reach the bottom The b*st*rds !
  22. I watched him a few times in the early 1960’s but we ended up signing Dr Kildare.
