  1. They’ll be home on August 12th, because that’s the weekend of the balloon fiesta & we never are home then. Said this before, if they were really serious then they could develop the Mem one stand at a time, in a smaller version of what we did. They don’t have the money to do so, though.
  2. Wondered when we would take the opportunity to have a look at Haikin in a competitive game. Need to base our decision on whether we extend his deal beyond season’s end on more than training, so this is presumably going to be the first of a couple of games for him.
  3. Since we returned to the Championship in 15/16 the highest number of points that’s ever been needed to stay up is 51, so that obviously not true (made up).
  4. Rotherham seem to be struggling & QPR are on a horrendous run, Blackpool’s win at the weekend was their first in the league since October.. QPR have a fair few points but those other two don’t look on course for even 50. Wigan have certainly tightened up under Maloney, Cardiff have had 2 good wins & obviously Huddersfield have Warnock but for all of them to sustain good form seems highly improbable.
  5. Absolutely, plus there are plenty of games when they play each other. Best of luck to them both winning that.. With by far the best goal difference in the bottom half we probably only need another 9 points to survive now.
  6. It’s a pretty ridiculous league, too. Celtic & Rangers are so far ahead of everyone else in terms of finances it’s like League Two sides (certainly those who are around the bottom five) playing against Liverpool or Spurs. Hibs, Hearts & Aberdeen are borderline Championship in terms of their wages but even then more like Rotherham than a Norwich. It must be one of the most unequal leagues out there.
  7. Yep, but also drawn at Sheff Wed & home to Ipswich.
  8. Mowbray, too. Very honest (saying that we were worth a point) & complimentary, but not surprised, he’s that sort of bloke.
  9. Spot on. If you look at the relegation battle in our division everyone is picking up points. The bottom 5 in their division are shite, Forest Green have already gone, then Morecambe, Cambridge & Accrington are all struggling big time. MK Dons have picked up a bit but no way will a couple of these sides catch them. The bigger point is this, some clowns on here were predicting a Bristol Derby next season or even us swapping divisions. Their team changes each transfer window as 5 of them are different loan players, alongside his collection of Scouse ex-Fleetwood dross, they are going nowhere under the convict, he’s a mediocre manager who gets publicity because of his history & social media presence.
  10. @NcnsBcfc Not going to quote your entire post but think yesterday was the cut off for 10 bookings meaning a two match ban, so if (when?) Williams & Scott are booked again they miss a game now. Would expect us to continue to try to manage this situation. It looks like Naismith isn’t going to be available for at least a fortnight so it will be interesting to see who is on the bench v Man City, we can name 9 subs, but only managed 8 v West Brom with numerous kids & even that number looks slightly optimistic with Mehmeti & Cornick both cup tied. Whether Idehen, Knight-Lebel or neither of them is on it will be instructive. Wilson has now played twice for the 21s so I think there is far more chance of him being involved than Idehen (who is not cup tied) with Tanner filling in at CB. I am actually ok with our squad numbers, if one of Atkinson or Naismith was available I think that would be fine. Of yesterday’s bench 4 don’t have a contract for next season yet, likewise 2 of our starters, one for one replacements (or contract renewals) would see us fine.
  11. Well it makes a change from it being the ref, the ball boy or the opposition manager & their prehistoric tactics.. Really inconsiderate nearly dying like that, didn’t he realise that they were one nil up against the mighty Burton Albion?
  12. Certainly is nauseating, you’re right..
  13. Absolute prime delusion. Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Ipswich, Plymouth, Charlton, Bolton, Pompey, Barnsley, all miles bigger, far better supported clubs, but the local media loves to let them spout this nonsense.
  14. Kalas played on the left in a back four when the Czechia did so well in the Euros. He’ll get a run now & hopefully Naismith will be back quite soon, Wilson for the bench meaning Tanner could play CB at a push. We won’t be going to a back three or bringing in a free agent.
  15. It is a massive conspiracy, Accrington, Fleetwood, Burton all putting pressure on officials due to their huge crowds & standing in the game. Barton in.
  16. Some never lost faith but having got home from a walk with 5 minutes of the game left & scrolled through the match thread, dear oh dear, we were 1 down to the fifth placed team.. Great result & the unbeaten run continues, good that we have a free week, too.
  17. It was the Walshy bit, I was thinking you meant Liam Walsh but presumably it was Alan & it was a joke?
  18. Me too. Wells is on a bit of a barren run in front of goal but his general game has been pretty good.
  19. It already has. These people own PSG, that country already owns Man City. Newcastle owned by a country that executes minors, women & the disadvantaged every single day. What a total ******* shitshow football has become at the very top, repressive regimes sportwashing their reputation by buying these clubs. Steve Lansdown can frustrate me at times but I’d genuinely rather be Championship also rans under him than accept money from these people.
  20. Been out for a meal tonight so looked at the BBC match commentary on my phone. Superb balance between the two sides, Michael Pearlman of BBC Wales providing the match commentary & the 2 summarisers were Jason Perry (ex Cardiff) & Iwan Roberts. I’m surprised that there is any unemployment in Wales at all, as most of them seem to employed by the BBC.
  21. So if I read this correctly he is claiming that they are looking to have a new stand in place for the start of next season at the Alton/Downend Rd side of the ground? We are already more than halfway through February, plus the new season will presumably start on August 5th. What sort of structure could you possibly create in that timeframe? As the tented stuff there at present would have to be dismantled, too? This is going to be another shit temporary structure, isn’t it? They’re freeloaders, always have been.
  22. That’s an opinion, not a fact. I don’t think anyone can know that, Boro probably thought he would do so but he spent loads of money on shite & they sacked him.
  23. Why? Because I don’t agree with you? He’s vile.
