  1. Thank **** the window has closed, otherwise £25m & he’d be off too. Love him, 2 assists in 2 games, brilliant goal & relentless running. Talking of which Jason Knight, what a ******* player.
  2. Even if all 3 goals were correctly disallowed (& I think the Bell one was very tight) the non sending off summed him up. Other end of the pitch he wouldn’t get the red card out quick enough. Utter ***.
  3. He’s a ******* joke. Either biased beyond belief or incompetent or both.
  4. Particularly if every effort gets disallowed whether it should have stood or not.
  5. 100%. My very comprehensive report from my WBA supporting mate made it clear he saw him as a midfielder who can play RB, but his position appearance stats show he’s played plenty of games in both. Tanner has struggled of late, it’s good we have another option, though with TGH missing the next one he appears highly likely to get another go then. With small numbers the fact we can change 6 from midweek & have the options we do on the bench is positive. Really can’t understand the mindset that moans about things that haven’t happened yet & might well not.
  6. 2 of Everton’s 7 subs are goalkeepers (one of whom is 40 next month) too..
  7. As you can only use 5 that’s irrelevant really. Every area of the pitch covered by those 8 & the starters.
  8. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing but thought that’s exactly what we’d do. Naismith gives us a left footed CB, Tanner probably deserves to drop out, Williams played well v Norwich. Up front Hobson’s choice after midweek. Only comment is if we change our midfield almost certainly won’t be King coming on, but TGH or Naismith moving forward & Tanner or Dickie coming on. Decent squad.
  9. How many of those were starts? 90 odd. No one is arguing here about the fee, but he’s a better striker than Clarke-Harris (which was the exam question) & his record at QPR, Huddersfield at our level shows that he’s proven. If TC was fit would he be starting? Completely different question.
  10. Could be the Bristol Post for being “unnecessarily negative” about them? Bet his wife double locked the door when she found out, too.
  11. Definitely. Our main striker is Nakhi Wells, who scored & had one disallowed in his last game. Proven consistent goal scorer at this level, 160 career goals in total, excellent availability record. Next question.
  12. Would have thought the following were also factors; We now know that there is compensation coming from Burnley for Massengo. That Owura Edwards’ wages this season are going to be being paid by someone else. Budgets might have fixed expenditure amounts, but how that sum is spent will change & these are 2 examples of how that has happened this week.
  13. Just to emphasise what a complete shambles it was we got the late Colin Sexstone to plead our case about some error & eventually were awarded the grand sum of £55k in compensation. If you look at the career Liam Rosenior subsequently had & even though we were a far smaller operation in those days, it was tinpot in a way those jokers over the river now exhibit on a frequent basis.
  14. Wells’ career pisses all over Clarke-Harris. Even this summer when we are all moaning about how little we’re spending, we have brought in 3 million pound plus players & TGH will be double that if we bring him in permanently.
  15. 4 were penalties, he’s completely out of his depth at Championship level.
  16. Got to be Wrexham, surely? Chuck & Hank from the USA taking them over & them winning the fifth division playoffs? Hollywood epic.
  17. Obviously this happening was never in any doubt ?
  18. Come off it mate, if our last 2 results in League One had been a defeat at Cambridge followed by defeat at home to Wycombe, with the winner scored by someone that Rovers had let go this summer, then this forum would be full of people saying that we’d be in the Prem soon. No? Along with the “Lansdown is going to sell AG for flats” theory we are currently at Roy De Alien levels of utter horseshit on here today.
  19. Or he could have immediately collided with an opponent in a freak injury (let’s call this person for example Ben Mee of Brentford) & just been really unlucky, eh? Still never mind, some on here can come up with crackpot theories about how a player on loan at Newport apparently got injured because of the way that we do conditioning. Ridiculous.
  20. Also pointed out if we did so he could play in the reverse fixture, meaning he was only unavailable for one league game.
  21. That’s completely fair. I do think it isn’t unreasonable to say though that even the more cautious amongst us expected Pearson to be able to bring in more than one loan player with Scott sold & Kalas & now HNM’s futures being elsewhere. There is some complete nonsense on here but also anger at SL’s comments & apparent desire to create this bloody “nest egg”.
  22. Probably one for next week when the dust has settled & we then don’t have a game for a fortnight, but in midweek we rested the following 5 from the start; Vyner, Pring, James, Knight & Bell. Arguably with the exception of King all 4 of those who started instead (Roberts, Dickie, Mehmeti & Cornick) are broadly of similar standard & tomorrow we will have Gardiner-Hickman available, too. That’s effectively what we are running with now, plus Weimann who will hopefully be back after the international break. It is in my opinion still two too few in terms of numbers but his comment about the gap in quality being much narrower than before is spot on.
  23. I suppose Scott going makes us weaker in terms of our quality. I’m not sure we are any thinner though, of those who have moved on only him & Dasilva were regular squad members last season, Kalas wasn’t, Baker had already retired & Taylor Moore was out on yet another loan. If you see Haydon Roberts as cancelling out the loss of Dasilva then I’d argue Dickie & Knight strengthen us, obviously McCrorie hasn’t added to us for unfortunate reasons & far too early to say about Gardiner-Hickman.
  24. Totally, think what he’s trying to say is you meet a lot of colleagues in football but don’t always keep in touch. Bet his English is far better than the Czech of those picking him up on this… Dekuji!
  25. I’m just basing my response on what Pearson said yesterday & as to the due diligence bit, whilst we will continue to evaluate targets then many of them will probably have moved on whilst we weren’t in a position to move. Once the window closes I’m sure we will be keeping an eye on those not fixed up, we do have a tradition now of an OoC centre back arriving outside the window (Ashley Williams, Mariappa, Klose) & the likes of Craig Cathcart, named in the Northern Ireland squad this week but without a club are currently available. Obvious but the good OoC players will get snapped up quickest & the amount of time needed to get match fit needs to be factored in, which is why Timm Klose was remarkable initially.
