  1. Just had a look, **** me they are so stupid. One post said those objecting are the sort who often do so for “humatarium” reasons, what the **** even is that? Another post responding to rumours of a new investor actually said Wael has said that he wouldn’t want to lose control but he might reduce his stake to 25%. Incredible. Did no one in Fishponds ever do maths at school?
  2. He’s missed the last couple of friendlies, so yes. No further information yet but NP is bound to be asked about him as the week goes on.
  3. Or “I’m surprised that West Ham aren’t interested”..
  4. Just watched the highlights on YouTube & with that & the blatant penalty on Pring, wow. Either he was some local ref who is a Pompey fan or refereeing standards remain shit. I know what my money is on.
  5. As someone who would happily never play them again it did occur to me that it would be hilarious if they had drawn us at home in the cup next week. Options? Ask to switch the game to a ground that’s fit for purpose or otherwise a complete logistical nightmare, as presumably we would have been guaranteed a certain percentage of space in their ramshackle, 3 sided ground. Sort of wish it had happened now.
  6. Looking at the 22 players that we had involved today, it seems to me to be between Leeson, Araoye & Knight-Lebel for the final place in the squad next weekend (it is 9 subs now) assuming McCrorie isn’t available to be a sub. With Naismith not fit & Kalas not looking like returning I would expect that we’ll keep him around, as he appears to be ahead of all the other young centre backs & Idehen is clearly on the “can leave” list.
  7. I think he was referring to Raphael Araoye, seemed to be saying that he played then before having an injury interrupted season last time out.
  8. Scored his first today in a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham, delighted for him. Looking highly likely to make his league debut next weekend at Accrington I’d have thought.
  9. With the greatest of respect I’m not sure that’s the case. Their official site is only reporting the Oxford game & their starting line up looks pretty much full strength to me; Begovic, Kakay, Dunne, Gubbins, Paal, Chair, Field, Willock, Richards, Smyth & Dykes. Adomah was also one of the subs used, apart from Dozzell & Fox who signed a few days ago I’m not sure who else they currently have.
  10. Definitely. Those are the only two questions, but provided TC is 100%, he’s our main striker. Roberts has been really impressive but Cam has done nothing that means he should be left out.
  11. Don’t think Mehmeti has done much to earn a start pre season & Bell has been prolific. Sykes is such an underrated player, with another goal today too, take your point about Cornick but expect him to start.
  12. So with Atkinson (February) & Benarous (last December) being injured a long time ago, the only 2 potentially missing as a result of pre season are McCrorie & Naismith. As for the side I would be very surprised if the front three isn’t Sykes, Conway & Bell, which is slightly harsh on Nakhi & provided Scott is still here next weekend the rest literally does pick itself.
  13. QPR are so weak it is untrue. Struggle to remember a side at our level looking so unprepared this close to a new season. One of their CBs (Dunne) has just gone off with a shoulder injury (it looks serious), so the 2 playing CB at present have 1 minute of league experience between them, it would be like us starting with Araoye & Knight-Lebel next week.
  14. From what I’ve heard I don’t think there is a chance he’ll sign any new contract.
  15. Pretty sure that because it became notorious Gove has outlawed this now as a vexatious tactic, not applicable here but the latest one used to stop development is registering as a community asset, as has just happened with the old public baths building on Jacob’s Wells Rd.
  16. Seeing as it is August next week I would be very surprised if there was any chance at all of it making the first deadline. They clearly have no idea of the background work involved here or lead in times for things like this. I would even say September is pushing it unless it gets accelerated internally..
  17. They also singularly fail to realise all local authorities (whatever anyone’s personal view of ours) have really struggled post pandemic. Most teams have significant work backlogs, fewer resources due to funding cuts & with absolutely no prospect of this situation changing for the better any time soon. This position is also hardly a state secret, if they looked at the average time taken for any planning application to go through all the stages (contentious or not) & worked backwards to when it needed to go in, they would have submitted it much sooner. They really are a bunch of amateurs.
  18. Need to get their facts right then. There are now virtually no Lib Dems on the council, just 5/70 & they all represent just 2 wards that are both miles away (like Whitchurch). Absolutely loads of Greens though (like Cllr Edwards) & highly likely next May there will be plenty more. They’re the future in Bristol, so anyone with half a brain would realise engaging with them & trying to make sure any environmental impacts were mitigated would be smart.
  19. Apparently less than 50 turned up to the launch of this, they were expecting nearer 150. Pretty obvious why if you scroll back half a dozen pages on this thread & no doubt in a few years they’ll be saying 300 turned up & more were locked out. Tinpot *****.
  20. Based on a couple of their recent signings that one is fairly obvious.
  21. Signed 2 defenders in the last 24 hours & have brought 5 in altogether. Highly unlikely that he ends up there now, I’d have thought.
  22. Think they are already known & are the ones in operation this week, so Max has moved to 1, Cam Pring to 3 & the new signings are 2 McCrorie, 12 Knight, 16 Dickie & 24 Roberts respectively.
  23. Struggling to understand your logic here, where is the value in a side that’s losing wasting time? Brilliant couple of posts on the QPR forum about this asking how quickly it will be that Preston find a way around this as they are the most blatant offenders, (actually probably is Stoke now, for obvious reasons) first suggestion was because collisions between team mates don’t apply to the leaving the field criteria they’ll start doing that. How referees have failed to spot Daniel Johnson repeatedly stopping free kicks being taken over the years baffles me as much as our lack of penalties.
  24. 100% re Massengo, but France, Spain & Germany all also start relatively early, so wherever he goes he seems a bit tardy. My hunch too re TK but as Ashley Williams, Mariappa & Klose have all showed we love signing a free agent CB..
