  1. We appear to have played there in the FA Cup in January 1958 - exactly 60 years ago! That was probably the last time as they folded in 1962 and resigned from the league. Obviously we haven’t been in the same division since then.
  2. Another win and a further rise up the table. Just like the men. Sixth now.
  3. I see they had a Home draw with Man City today. Good result.
  4. It evidently began life in a supermarket car park, as somewhere to dump your used trolley. Then after a few years useful life it got sold off and downgraded as a temporary football stand.
  5. Look, I know this will attract lots of scathing comments about women’s football, and plenty on OTIB see them as “nothing to do with us”. I confess I myself don’t actually watch them. That said, they ARE a part of Bristol City, they HAVE just won away at Everton, and there are four clubs below them in their league, including Liverpool and Everton. Seventh in the country and in no danger of relegation. So, well done them.
  6. He won’t get sacked. The owners won’t spend the money. Nor will they buy any new players. DC will stay in place unless a better club offers him a job with a better contract. So that’s unlikely.
  7. Whatever happens, I can’t see Dwane/Al Qadi selling the football club for pennies and hanging on to the stadium with an unpaid loan. It seems pretty certain they bought the package in the hope of a property deal that hasn’t worked out, and will want to leave without any significant loss or continuing debt.
  8. That’s definitely him next to Zaphod Beeblebrox.
  9. They thought they’d bought Flint, but it turned out to be Granite.
  10. Is that when they’re getting promoted?
  11. It was Plan B - knock it into the wide channels instead of heavy possession percentage. Ugly but ultimately it worked.
  12. Either is OK here - though apparently the Americans don’t used spelt.
  13. Radio Bristol saying our movement is causing Bolton problems. And website giving us 83% possession.
  14. On the other hand Joe created a scoring chance and forced a save, which few did.
  15. Really? I thought Webster often looked nervous and panicky. And would Forest have scored their goal with Flint there? Probably not. As for our creativity, we fielded two potentially strong wingers, started well and scored a goal after getting a corner from creating an overload on the left. After that, we seemed not to get the ball to them enough - particularly ODowda. I didn’t think he was poor, but that he didn’t get given the ball in any potentially good situations. To me, with Eliasson and O’ Dowda there, we need to ensure the full backs combine properly with them. They have the ability to penetrate well if they can get some space out wide. I don’t think we’ll do it through the middle so often.
  16. Hardly astounding. Middle pair was always going to be two out of Pack, Brownhill, Smith. Little to choose between them.
  17. Interestingly the link in this thread lets me in, though other searches/links don’t.
  18. I was on there for a few months, using a different name and email. I was pretty respectful & less critical than many of their true fans. I never claimed to be a gashead or admitted to being City. Tried to comment as a neutral football fan from another region would do. But I’ve recently been banned with no warning. Still dont know how/why. Childish approach they’ve got. Can’t even visit it for entertainment now.
  19. And yesterday Exeter drew 2-2 with Taunton ....
  20. Slanging match and routine mutual insults aside, this would have been a very odd tale to have made up. However, if Henbury Gas is honest, he may still have been misled - not lied to - by a person with learning difficulties who got unduly upset by an unexceptional incident, no? His mistake may well be to have stated foolishly that he knew it to be true, just because he was told it. I for one can imagine a situation where a person with learning difficulties just maybe sat in the wrong seat and got talked to by someone whose seat it was, in a slightly aggressive way. At the end of the day, it may be that something that slight has got wildly exaggerated. All speculation, I know, but so is the whole dialogue.
  21. This is a bit worrying. Why are players moving to them from bigger more stable clubs like Shrewsbury?
  22. On the other hand, Ive just read a report that some Scottish lad is likely to choose Rovers over Sunderland. Lets just pause and consider what that means for Sunderland fans.
  23. Surely the right one psychologically - get at them again while they’re rattled.
