  1. Well they don’t let us on as City fans, so ........
  2. All purpose exile name - Bristol Movers Move to Kent - Bristol Dovers Move to Sussex - Bristol Hovers Move to Bath - Bristol Loofahs Try something new (giving up football) - Bristol Roofers
  3. I’m currently queuing at White City to see a recording of Pointless with Richard Osman. Presumably we will both be at Craven Cottage later too.
  4. That's only Tommy. I've no idea why he causes himself so much pain by supporting us.
  5. Exactly. If there's one good thing about a game like that, it's that it will take some of the froth off the positive overreactions when we win. We're a decent team but not world beaters. Nor are we awful. Still happy with mid table if we slip a bit.
  6. Touchy. It's a forum. We discuss opinions. "son"? Please don't patronise me, I'm 61. And yes, I was at the game thanks.
  7. Blimey. "Awful" is lack of control, no passes, being outplayed, conceding goals. We are on 72% possession, playing bright neat stuff, but not penetrating enough. Seven corners to nil - no goals. Some perspective required.
  8. On a pedantic technicality, it must surely be shitpuddle rather than a shithole?
  9. A very poor half, but we're leading against ten men! Hey ho. lots of poor control, hopeless long balls. Such a contrast to Derby so far.
  10. Following from Amsterdam to day where it's pouring with rain .... .....no it's sunny ... ....raining again .... ...sunny now!
  11. From experience, Companies House records are often years out of date as regards released mortgages.
  12. I agree. Millwall's reputation is historically linked to their fans being tough dockworkers from south of the Thames (Bermondsey, as explained previously). West Ham were followed by dockworkers from the north bank of the Thames. Thus their intense rivalry - the Dockers' Derby. Millwall also have derbies with other South London clubs (eg Charlton and Palace, both quite close) but I think W Ham is the biggie for the historical connection.
  13. Having had a good look at the Gaschat thread, to be fair the deluded are few and far between. There are many very upset and disappointed posters who think this signals the end of the dream. "The honeymoon is over" comments sums it up. They mostly know they're back to square one - and with only snakes and no ladders on the horizon.
  14. I wandered into the rather smart foyer of the Castle Hotel in Taunton at 9.30 today, to find myself surrounded by young men in Middlesex tracksuits. That confused me, but I've just worked out they are the second XI. They do themselves OK don't they? Second XI staying in the Castle - what's wrong with the Travelodge!?
  15. And fair play to you for your vocal support. It went a bit quiet in the last half hour though - you must have been on tenterhooks (putting it politely).
  16. I agree but that completely misses my point, with respect. I'm just objecting to people who assess our performances (and sometimes attempt to analyse them) based purely on radio commentaries or second hand opinions from other posters. I have a lot of time for expat fans and others who use OTIB to follow the team, but not when they occasionally try to lecture me about games I've seen and they patently haven't.
  17. "Sounded"? So are you another constant critic who doesn't actually go to matches? It wasn't great but it was close. They nicked one of their chances and we didn't.
  18. Well personally I feel quite sorry for Blackburn (i.e. The fans) and would prefer to see the rather arrogant "we were European champions, you know " Forest lot go down.
