  1. Radio 5 - some rugby rubbish Radio Somerset - some rugby rubbish
  2. Guest, Keen and Nettlefold. A lineup even SL couldn’t afford in the transfer window.
  3. No thanks. It’s more fun to stay anonymous and add to the general grumbling with honest comments. That’s another point - on the whole, they’re not deluded, but as depressed and pessimistic as they deserve to be. There are decent people there, so it’s a bit like being the secret millionaire.
  4. They don’t have a blanket ban. There was no question about who you support when I joined!
  5. You can’t realistically expect two young players to make their home debut together. Too much of a risk.
  6. I expect we’re to blame for the state of the Mem too. Did we demolish a couple of fine stands?
  7. No, definitely not. I’ve never been to the Mem, so couldn’t bluff that well.
  8. Brilliant manager. We never doubted him!
  9. Addendums is fine, but addenda is better (in my opinion.) Ditto referenda. ... and don’t start me on people not knowing that media is a plural word (of medium). So TV is a medium of communication, radio is a medium of communication etc, therefore the “media are” not the “media is”.
  10. Sounds like someone has never left the West Country and is a mite deluded!
  11. As for appropriate songs, try Vin Garbutt’s “The Chemical Worker’s Song”.
  12. Followed up by - they thought they were buying a gasfield, not the Gas and a field.
  13. That’s a good summary. I would suggest the Al Qadis have set the £10M limit on their overdraft/loan and are having to think very hard about whether to support future losses beyond the value of their security, at this very moment.
  14. They do allow City fans to register and post - just not knowingly! I tend to favour the sweetly reasonable comment pointing out the various negatives. I’ve never claimed to be Gashead or otherwise. It’s quite fun joining in with the current moaning though.
  15. It was a leading ground, used for the 1966 World Cup and many FA Cup semi finals, but doesn’t seem to have been improved in 50 years.
  16. They have to provide fiancés?? Is that because of the Arab involvement? Sounds dangerously like people trafficking to me.
  17. This. Rovers surely pulled out because they were only being offered a lease, not any freehold?
  18. There was no emotion in my post - I’m also one of those that do not hate Rovers and I would not be upset if they were moderately successful in a division one below ours. However, there are posters on Gaschat convinced they will easily match Brighton and Reading if they have a 20000+ stadium and I just can’t see it , not in the short term. They ignore the fact that Brighton and Reading are in higher leagues, feeling the larger size of Bristol is more important. That overlooks the competition from City and the fact that third tier football is not a great draw. I can’t see them with 20000 crowds in less than five years of gradual improvement and a promotion to the Championship. If that happens, maybe. But pigs might fly too.
  19. They’re convinced that if they build a 20000 capacity stadium, they will instantly do a Brighton and fill it, as the demand is there but is being held back by the poor facilities. It’s nothing to do with struggling to make a mark in the third division.
  20. That was in August 2017 though, when all the evidence suggested that ...... .... oh no, sorry, wrong year.
