  1. Have a look at the scarves in the City shop next time! My gf wanted one at the Walsall game. The best was the identical one to that in red and white; and the worst a plain brown one with a small brown leather BCFC crest at one end. I couldn't quite believe it, my 20 yo scarf had multi-colours and a nice crest, she had to buy one online from some bloke in Canada of all places (the scarf guy) and it was cheaper.
  2. She took a good long while to stop laughing and rolling around the floor after hearing Higgs' case apparently.
  3. I have no idea what you mean and nor do the several million supporters who were unable to get into Wembley to cheer them on in their playoff final.
  4. The anti-Burglars!!! They break into your car and leave money!!
  5. I went to help a friend recover an Astra (ok, not an Escort), and apart from the steering column damage the only thing the thief had done was throw away most of the empty fag packets that were littering the car! I had a Mark III and IV Escort so no RWD for me. Great looking cars all.
  6. Tsk Tone - I come looking for new jokes and the heat of your new abode has drained your well of comedy; nothing for five days.

And the present "killer religion" is islam. It was Christianity 800 years ago; but we are not living 800 years ago.

What's the point of pulling up loads of minor exceptions to muddy the waters and obfuscate the debate? Do you seriously not recognise that there are multiple terrorist groups across the world, slaughtering at random with extreme cruelty, and all in the name of islam? You can revert to the "Christianity was as bad 800 years ago" argument or claim that the Northern Ireland troubles were a religious conflict (when they clearly weren't) if you wish to continue to not see the obvious for some perverse reason and that's entirely your choice.

There are isolated exceptions of course. Jim Jones springs to mind.

Poverty, oppression and lack of opportunity are there for Catholics in south and central America, Hindus in India, Christians in sub-Saharan Africa, and whatever religions are followed in China and south east Asia. None of these religious adherents have set up faith based terrorist groups.

What then is your explanation for the multiple outrages regularly carried out throughout the world whose only common factor is adherence to Islam? Coincidence perhaps?

If there were a clear trend of certain crimes being perpetrated by Australian painters, at levels wholly disproprtionate to their numbers, then you would be right to be suspicious of them. That is not to say that every Australian painter is a wrong 'un but that there is clearly something within the belief system of Australian painters that makes them more likely to perpetrate certain crimes. Look at gun ownership: heavily legislated against in this country. I like firing guns, and would like to own a few and shoot them, but I can't. Because a small number of gun owners go mental and start shooting people. So I, despite being a law-abiding citizen, get tarred with the same brush and am not allowed to own a gun because a tiny minority of those who have previously owned guns committed crimes. The question on this thread is not are there decent law-abiding muslims, of course there are, the great majority, but is there something intrinsic to the religion itself which generates the extreme crimes that we see time and time again? If so then, like gun ownership, should something be done about it to protect potential victims?

Scientology comes closest IMO. But bad as it Scientology does not inspire its adherents to go round killing people at random in its name.

Yep, I discovered in the States many years ago as a decent alternative to the ubiquitous burger in a bun rubbish. Now i would rather go hungry than eat in a Subway.

It's not the taste, it's the cruel method of slaughter of the animals which you are signing up to by going to Subway.

    1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2616576/Subway-removes-ham-pork-nearly-200-stores-strong-demand-Muslims-eat-Halal-meat.html 2. I discovered them in the US before they came here' ideal place for a really tasty, filling and good value lunch - lovely choice of bread, lost of fresh salad filling. I cannot make a better sarnie myself. However after reading that story earlier today I will never set foot in one again, I'm not supporting a business that actively chooses to support cruelty to animals.
  17. Zamora? A time when they had Gary Penrice coaching their attackers, turned out one gem after another, sold them for millions, then let GP go to save a few quid. Genius.
  18. They must be insane letting Farage have this platform; he'll annihilate them.
  19. Agreed but I doubt we could ever realistically afford Jet, even when we bought him, it may have been a gamble to make money by buying a highly-talented under-performing player and then showing what he can do before selling him on at a profit. As has been said he doesn't really fit into our team structure, he's just so bloody good he's got to be on.
  20. He's being realistic. In the past we've waited until our best players are either near the end of their contracts or go off the boil, the time to sell a player is when they're playing at their peak which is when other clubs want him.
  21. I'm mightily peed off as I got back early to hear it. They definitely say online with Andy Howard commentating as it's FA cup. Pffft, cup of coffee then.
  22. I just listened to TTB again as I was beginning to doubt myself. At 6.09, definitely says it will be available online. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01jw6v1
  23. Errr, they seem to have forgotten and are repeating TTB like they usually do. I just tried Radio Essex and they are broadcasting but haven't mention D&R yet. Maybe they count as London.
  24. In case anybody isn't aware it was flagged on TTB last night that this game, as it's FA Cup rather than league, is available on Radio Bristol over the internet.
