  1. They're all Joey Barton. He'll keep them ticking along for a while then if Nigel leaves there will be a deluge of posts from them saying that Barton is the best option.
  2. Warnock incoming according to The Telegraph.
  3. With a very similar squad Beale managed to get a run of decent performances out of the players. Gareth is an enthusiastic manager who succeeds by firing up the players but simply doesn't has the tactical ability for the Championship, QPR has had the odd good game under him but in the majority they have been entirely outplayed and out thought. The board has given him as long as they realistically could to turn it around, before relegation becomes guaranteed, and there have been no signs of that turnaround happening.
  4. I have no idea but potentially it could be used to pay off the third party debt incurred in rebuilding the ground and this would mean a permanent improvement to the annual result, helping with FFP and if course making the club more valuable if it was to be sold. Pure guess, the Lansdowns could well have entirely different intentions.
  5. Billy Davies is available and still only 59. He sounds an ideal candidate to maintain Barton's legacy. Not talking to the media, sacking long serving staff, employing personal cronies. Yep, all very Bartonesque. Davies' second spell [at Nottingham Forest] proved to be a controversial and damaging one.[9] He dismissed long-serving club staff without explanation, shouted at a photographer taking photos for the club's matchday programme after a match at Millwall, banned journalists as part of a "near media blackout", and employed his cousin, Jim Price, a suspended solicitor, as his closest advisor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Davies And he's keen to return to management, this from last month. BILLY DAVIES wants a return to football management — and is keen on a job in England. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/23987963/billy-davies-management-return-forest-derby/
  6. And vice versa, it's pantomime stuff and everyone enjoys it.
  7. If it's the tea lady who spotted Nigel Martyn then she could do a decent job. Vi Harris 18/1
  8. Take your pick: Or... Communication breakdown It's so funny how we donb't talk any more Are you receiving me? By the band in the OP:
  9. Interesting to know and good luck to him, you may not have seen it as yet but there is a new forum specifically for ex-City players which was only set up this week. https://www.otib.co.uk/forum/62-all-things-ex-players-and-managers/
  10. Nigel's best opportunity to find out would have to go to the rugby Q&A and asked about the owners' intentions then.
  11. It's going to be massively expensive to produce compared to something like Bargain Hunt which costs pennies, so if the viewing figures are similar then the axe is going to fall. Plus something like Bargain Hunt can be repeated on a loop which you can't do with a soap because of their continuous long story lines. I used to like Brookside but not enough others did so it ceased; these days I don't have a television but even when I did it never went on during the daytime so I haven't seen Doctors.
  12. I think there was a Marvin Brown Dance Troupe in one episode.
  13. It was probably chosen by him because of the annual goth festival that is held there.
  14. And maybe still is, this looks fairly recent. -ish anyway, it has a fax number. https://b99.co.uk/electrician/hereford/peter-john-spiring/
  15. Yes indeed. Though they have seemed perfectly happy with radio silence from Wael since things ceased to go his way so this is just more if the same. We have become so accustomed to our owner setting out development plans and transfer strategy, even if we're not always happy with it, that we have begun to see this kind of openness as the norm. It's a good point that the Rovers owners are doing a full blown secret squirrel on their fans, yet they seem perfectly happy with that.
  16. TBF they would find it rather hard to make this tip six with a listed capacity of 11,000! Unless they include the vast hordes locked out in the car park. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Rovers_F.C.
  17. Yes, I remember a great turn out the first time we played Wycombe. They're on a roll after a great season, the fans have been starved of success for years and there are all these great new grounds to visit. Fair play to them but I would probably pick Sheffield Wednesday as the stand out support given their league performance to date.
  18. That's an astounding level of video quality for a phone, the goals are captured so professionally I was waiting for the replay of Tommy's second!
  19. We should really be supporting grassroots football and encouraging our local non-league clubs like Mangotsfield, Yeovil, Bristol Rovers, and Weston and cheering them when they occasionally have a run in the FA Cup or manage to play for a few seasons in the football league proper. These are the clubs from where we might find the next Jamie Vardy, making medical splints through the week whilst turning out to give his all every Saturday on the pitch.
  20. When he has been asked in interviews which teams he would like to manage, but hasn't as yet, the two he always mentions are us and Sheffield Wednesday.
