TBH I hope we are closer to mid table but i think we were poor last season and I haven't seen too much to suggest this season will be any better. We haven't had to fight off bids from our better payers yet but I'm sure we will and I'm not sure we are in a place footballing wise or financially to replace any that do go with decent signings. Lower league and journey men is where i think we will be shopping and that doesn't mean anything other than a relegation fight. Really hope I'm wrong but I am not full of confidence - that probably means will win the play offs if my predictions are anything to go by.

I'd question his sanity iv he walked. Its very rare for a manager to walk mainly because of the compensation they will get when sacked. If he walks he gets nothing - if he stays and things don't improve he gets sacked with pay off - if he stays and improves things he'll get an improved contract extension.

I guess this is a special promotion for a game unlikely to sell out. The same as quid a kid games. Over the season a season ticket is better value even with the odd special offer.

Sorry I've not been very clear. Saying give any manager the first 10 games of next season is almost saying you don't believe he is the right manager and his days are numbered. I think you either sack before the summer so a new man has pre season and a chance to shape the team or have faith and back the manager without a 10 game deadline. I think the keep NP but see what its like after 10 games next season is like saying I don't want to sack the manager yet.

The only trouble with this approach is IF it goes pear shaped at the start of next season a new manager will have NP's summer transfer in's and out's to work with. The Jan window is usually rubbish so it won't be until the start of the following season you see the new manager's team. Another thought is if those thoughts are in SL mind then he might be reluctant to back NP in the summer transfer market.

No I don't disregard any of those factors but how long can a manager live off the mistakes of a predecessor? This isn't pro LJ or anyone else but LJ was sacked because we were falling away from the playoff places - at the time this was probably the right decision. 2 Managers down the line and we are now just happy to stay up. Look I will get behind the team and manager no matter what but for those who say "NP must stay and given time" I haven't seen a single argument that backs that up only "look at what he inherited". I genuinely thought he was a good appointment and would take us closer to the prem. Reality is we are closer to League 1. There are some really good things to have come out of this season particularly the emergence of some bright youngsters but performances, in the main, are not good enough.

As others have asked why? Like most I thought NP was a good appointment but I have been very disappointed. Unlike many I don't see an improvement - yes we win a game and play well now and again but we also have awful days. We are the wrong end of the table and results have been terrible since NP's appointment. So the other question I have is how much time would you give NP? In the years since LJ left we gone from a club who expected to be pushing for the play offs to one thats just happy to stay up. Is that what we really want?

This is what I hate. Derby owe £27m in tax thats £27m that you and me have to pay. The administrators should be asked some serious questions about what they are doing for their money. A friend and also Derby fan tells me that any potential buyer had to pay a £5m non refundable deposit just to register an interest and the fans think thats one reason why there are no interested parties. He also thinks the administrator is delaying in case Derby beat the drop and are worth more as a championship club.

I agree with this statement. Whether you agree or not with the sentiment or message is not the point. If you make a justure like this or taking the knee or supporting any other issue then you have to give others the right to disagree. I heard an interesting article on the news this morning where a Russian gymnast won a medal at some event over the weekend and wore a t-shirt with a pro Russian slogan. He is being investigated. But if you can wear a pro Ukranian why not a pro Russian t-shirt. If we start only allowing the things someone thinks is acceptable then we become Russia or worse George Orwells vision 1984.

We haven’t got the number of points that we should have." then by definition we are under performing and if "a lot of our players are over-performing." what was the rant about last week? Publicly criticizing the players now the Chairman - I think his days will be numbered.

I don't like this type of comment. Why is Palmer stealing a living? Somebody decided to sign him on a contract at a rate of pay. He had been on loan so we knew what we were buying. If the club choose to now not use the player thats the clubs fault. I'm sure Palmer would rather be playing than not. I would describe it as mismanagement by the club. We bought and expensive asset and then haven't used it.

The point is we haven't got anybody else and aren't likely to have wholesale changes in the summer. Saying your not good enough and ill get rid of you is hardly good motivation for players who are clearly suffering a lack of confidence to see games out. If your boss told you that how would you feel?

I have to say the comments of NP after the game yesterday will hardly help their confidence - even if what he said is true.
