  1. Back row. Fifth from the left: Matty James.
  2. Thanks. I had no idea. It would normally be on DAZN in Spain in that case. But this time, apparently it isn't.
  3. Same here. Shambles. The service, not my location.

They get the words wrong in the "I sees 'e and 'e sees I" bit... I think. Is this what the thread is about? Either way, you can't beat a bit of topless Wurzels.
  5. We should get some Buddhist monks in like Leicester did. To go with our ex-Leicester manager and players. Come to think of it, maybe we should have started off with...no I won't say it.
  6. Anyone remember the time otib was hacked? Going back a bit. Someone on this thread made a slightly insensitive comment about Jewish people (not anti-Semitic of course) in the aftermath. Moving along to Bristol Rovers... here's a thought. Given that Paul Tisdale did a much better job at Rovers than Mr Barton, why did he get the sack and JB hasn't? Did he not reference the massive away support sufficiently or go on enough about the huge potential of the blue "half" of the catchment area?
  7. Interview over on the Ipswich site now with one of the American owners who is visiting Ipswich this week. In the photo announcing the interview, there's a man in the middle pointing as if he's checking out a new missile site in North Korea. He's not the American chap.
  8. Good news about BT. Very odd for Ipswich to release their news about GP joining them just as City announced he was leaving. Couldn't they have waited a bit, and then take a photo of him in an Ipswich top, not a City one?
  9. Churchillesque rallying cry from MA at Ipswich. Deft use of the English language, with an amazing, incredible and, may I say it, exciting use of adjectives that include "amazed", "amazing", "excited" and "exciting". Fans of his "fantastic" and (my personal favourite) "absolutely fantastic" will have to wait for his next speech. https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/october/mark-ashton-shrewsbury-town-programme-notes/

As a City fan and father of a 24 year old too, I can confirm that spitting on people (even Rovers fans) is not something we approve of. Pax vobiscum.
  11. TR is from Portishead. Followed his brother into the Navy who was a much bigger City fan in those days. Both had a soft spot for Oldham.
  12. No surprise some of them spill over onto the pitch occasionally.
  13. Richard Gould's father and brother can both join of course.
  14. He probably wants to shore up the support of the owners. This is how he imagines gullible Americans like to see proof of success. A bit like when Tom Cruise jumped up and down on that sofa, this sort of exhibitionism might just elicit derision.
  15. Wasn't he the commercial director or something? Is he really related to MA
  16. Yes. Being paid less than you were before does not mean you consciously decided to take a pay cut in order to take part in Mark Ashton's "cause" (his word). On this point in the interview, MA is being either delusional or deceitful.
  17. A Barton blame game timeline would be useful to track the excuses he has been coming up with since he joined our neighbours. 1. This is a massive club that needs a great coach, and here I am. 2. The players are fine but they weren't coached properly by the previous managers. 3. I've coached them now and in fact I've discovered that most of them are awful and I need to sell them. 4. The ones I didn't want to sell have left anyway because of the bad results caused by, er, 2 and 3. 5. The new ones I have brought in haven't found anywhere to live yet so, er, they let in a lot of goals and don't score many. Ideas for new excuses: blame the managers of the clubs the new players have come from; distract attention by talking about the new training ground; call it "infrastructure"; keep buying and selling players randomly and reuse old excuses.
  18. While we are on the subject of psychology, I just came across this: Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration.
  19. On the subject of interest among builders for a project like this: construction companies may be shying away from residential projects because of volatile post-Brexit prices. However, if the (sixth?) richest man in the universe offers you a fixed fee, you might be tempted. Sorry to be a bit off-message with this one.
  20. Whenever I read a reference to "males" from our PC colleague, it strikes up an image of David Attenborough whispering at the camera while creeping through the undergrowth and gawking at some chimps or something. I presume she is referring to male human personages?
  21. Oh, Pembo. Where did the time go? Is it really four years? I’m holding back the tears. Some called for Johnson’s head But were given yours instead. Shifting sands A safe pair of hands That steadied boats And throttled throats Or so they say. Now you’re on your way. Oh, Pembo. You’ve left us in limbo. Or is it hell? They’ve forgotten how to win, how to thank or say farewell. Did you rustle some feathers? Now you’ve cast aside the relegation-bound tethers. You taught, they learned. Our Channel Island Nero fiddled while his bright new stadium burned. Bristol Sport. You stood tall while others came up short. You were the natch in a pub serving Strongbow. Thanks, good-bye, we’ll miss you, Pembo.

You're not going to bother trying to justify your assertion that "the inaction of Pope Pius XII would tend to lend credence to"..." believing that the motivation for the Holocaust was Catholic hatred of Jews" are you?

Your accusation was that "the inaction of Pope Pius XII would tend to lend credence to"..." believing that the motivation for the Holocaust was Catholic hatred of Jews". An outrageously ill-informed non-sequitur that you have been completely incapable of backing up.

I find the insinuation that the Vatican was "anti-Semitic" with regard to the Holocaust outrageous. You have provided absolutely no evidence to prove this. Any theory that Nazism drew some psychological inspiration from Catholic anti-Semitism that I have read or listened to has been extremely flimsy and, by its nature, impossible to prove. To jump along and say that because the Pope did not speak out against the Holocaust, and then join these two ideas together, is scandalously facile.
