  1. The phrase ‘pinning down a jelly comes to mind’. All hail Wally. Top man indeed.
  2. Yes. Thanks for the loan. They were a bit tight, but I’ve always been known as ‘big boy’.
  3. That open-sided wooden shelter for the disabled warrants a mention. Surpasses Santa’s Grotto as a statement of intent. Surely a nominee for a British Arhitecture award. Cant wait to see what ‘improvements’ are scheduled for this summer. The Cabbage Patch can only be second to the Nou Camp as a ‘must see’ ground.
  4. Look at the positives can we. We are now just 3 points from being safe from relegation. That’s just one win or, more likely, three scratchy draws. Even the most pesemistic City fan would admit we can’t **** it up from here. Happy days.
  5. Pity Danny Baker wasn't the presenter. He'd have rolled out his line AGAIN, Bristol Rovers fans just a bunch of 'pathological liars'.
  6. I genuinely thought someone had photoshopped that flag. To what depths can their fans sink? Unbelievable.
  7. Think a few though did start to have doubts when they said about 'a link to the operational Bristol Metrobus system'.
  8. Yeah, my ex-wife was from Stockwood. Despite her claiming to be City, all her family were 'loyal' Gasheads. Never though, in the couple of decades I knew them did they venture to Bath/the Rugby Ground. Should've known she would turn out a wrong' un.
  9. The original SAG poster was correct. WoT is, indeed, City. The deluded few need to stick to those pleasant residential areas adjoining the M32 corridor. Plus they can have Lockleaze. A place of rare architectural beauty and high culture that I had never previously visited and had the misfortune of driving through (bypassing the traffic hold-up caused by the bi-weekly horse punching festival) on Saturday en route to Eastvile Stadium. I mean, IKEA.
  10. So, in one picture of a small part of their stadium we have a converted shipping container and garden shed, some larch lap garden fence panels and a car port. Watch out, they're coming for us! Tinpot just doesn't adequately describe it.
  11. Well I'll take my humble pie with a big dollop of clotted cream please. Thank you SL, LJ and the team for bring some pride back. Now, keep it up lads.
  12. Hang on. She's lying on top of me. I'll just switch her back on.
  13. I'm delighted to confirm that my Alexa when asked the same question, announced she was also 'a fan of Bristol City'! FTG
  14. Brilliant. Steve Lansdown (and family) took a hell of a lot of stick when the times were tough last season. Hope he enjoys his weekend as much as I'm going to do. Well done that man for sticking rather then twisting as I, and many others, were suggesting. More than anyone, you truly deserve success with this Club.
  15. Wow. Not sure I can take much more of this and we've only just started the season. Hats off. Two brilliant results. Well done players and management. Vital we keep the momentum going on Saturday, a tight, tight league. Need to have a lie down. God knows what the tension is like for LJ and the rest on the sidelines.
  16. You forgot their 'stand' at UWE freshers week. That forking colouring board!!!! Some Slag seriously thought 'that looks good, worthy of being centrepiece of our display'. Snort.
  17. 'Each case considered on own merits'. In a nutshell, Sags make new planning application for a stadium. Will be assessed based on adopted national/local policy. Applicants will submit volumes of evidence in support of application. That will contain loads of fresh current data and forecasts. If the City Council either refuse or fail to make a determination within prescribed/agreed timelines, the applicant has a right of appeal to the Secretary of State. A planning inspector will be appointed and an inquiry held. If (rarely) there is a 'point of law' at issue, they can apply for judicial review. The fact that they have been granted permission previously will not have a bearing on the outcome of this application, aside from the fact that a number of the 'tests' applied to the appraisal of any new application will be similar to those applied previously. The evidence on which those 'tests' are applied will have changed significantly. National and local policy relevant to those tests will also have materially changed. You cannot automatically assume that as they've been granted permission previously they'll get it again. They will more than likely get permission for an upgrade, the key question is size. Strongly suspect that 18000 capacity may well be resisted. The other key question is cost of 'mitigation', I would hazard a guess that the cost of transport measures would be far, far greater than previous
  18. Hey, don't want the Pikeys moving in to North-West Bristol thanks. Area of search should be just limited to their bit of North-East Bristol or, preferably, just somewhere in the Far East.
  19. I feel another photo of a new door canopy coming on. That'll keep their fans happy for another 5 years.
  20. Ah... Stairway to Heaven .. the last chance to grab-a-girl for a smooch. Panic set in if you hadn't scored when the opening bars of that tune came on!!!! 'Clubbing it' at Redland Tennis Club was far more edgy though viz City vs Rovers. Those softies South of the River had a much easier life!
  21. LJs position is completely untenable. I can't see Uwe Rosler or anyone else willing to step in at this stage in the season. We've also missed the boat with the experienced coach option ala Joe Jordan and, in any event, LJ's credibility is now shot so he has to go. The cheap option is players with Tins. Don't rate that, so we've effectively check-mated ourselves. What a car crash. Maybe Ashton will produce another master stroke though.
