  1. Yeah I read the article, Italian ultras are clearly the worst and ultras in this country are no way comparable IMHO - in this country we seem to stick to the ideals of ultras (displays, pyro and vocal support) whereas in Italy it seems to sometimes morph into something like super organised hooligans but generally with the Italians they're generally not trying to cause violence and racism, it happens but it's not common. I would say that due to its organised nature when it is violent or racist then it's very violent or loudly and obviously racist which gets the story (as it should).
  2. Really lost the plot since your racist incident haven't you.
  3. cking-power-ultras-wield-over-italian-football Sorry but BigTone said ultras "generally refers to those with violent and racist ideals". This is wrong they generally refer to organised groups that use flares (primarily in tifo choreography), vocal support in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums. hooligans generally refers to those with violent ideals and racists tends to refer to those with racist ideals.
  4. Taken from Wikipedia Ultras are a type of association football fans who are renowned for their fanatical support. The term originated in Italy, but is used worldwide to describe predominantly organised fans of association football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes their use of flares (primarily in tifo choreography), vocal support in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages their own team and intimidates the opposing players and their supporters. While ultras groups can become violent, the majority of matches attended by ultras conclude with no violent incidents. Unlike hooligan firms, whose main aim is to fight hooligans of other clubs, the main focus of ultras is generally to support their own team. i.e. they are not hooligans, they are not there for violence, so maybe you should have done some more research and not just read what you wanted to read sweetie!
  5. All you've managed to do here is show that you don't know what ultras means!
  6. But how else are we supposed to get to 50 pages and ultimately nothing happen?
  7. That they bought Neves nearly 6 years ago for £15.8m is almost irrelevant - Wolves have moved up the chain a lot since then which means they pay more but also sell for more, if they were to sell Neves now to a bigger club they would be wanting 60m+ for him, if they were still in the championship and selling to someone like Villa they would want £20m+, that's just how it works. Scott is absolutely worth £20m+ to a club in thier position, the potential to play for England, if they think they could make him a future England player then that is pittance and then likely to be able to sell him for £80m+ in the future.
  8. There sadly seems to be plenty of them but funnily they love to run away.
  9. Depends on the manner of the defeat for games like this, I expect us to be competitive but yeah losing would be fine if we were competitive.
  10. I stand in the corner and give it my all every game so I'm with you and will continue to give it my all to support the players. That said we have to see what's infront of us and unstoppable isn't the word I would use, I see no evidence for anything other than average at best with the odd drift into uncompetitiveness. I agree that the setup looks better since last year but it's from an extremely low bar where we didn't look competitive and we still have moments of looking like we aren't competitive. I'm not one of those that say I'm only interested in being entertained, I love to see us winning and playing good football is a bonus for me but not being competitive is not good enough for me to feel like I can defend and be be proud of our football club. Pearson said he was going to build from the back, we're still letting in stupid goals. Pearson regularly references getting a corner or a shot on target was celebrated when he first came in, against West brom we had 1 corner and 1 shot on target in the second half, if it had gone in and we hadn't conceded we would have only drawn the game - that's not good and miles away from being unstoppable.
  11. You've got to have something to get behind even if it's just an outside chance of a comeback some memory and evidence that your team is still in the game, let's face it we give away soft goals, find it hard to break teams down and tire as the game goes on - hardly a recipe for making anyone think we have a hope of finishing strongly and mounting a comeback, it's more likely that as we tire we will concede leading to more anxiety as we finish rather than hope. There is an element of us becoming customers rather than supporters as well, our fanbase has been successfully socially engineered in the last 20 years to be like this, with the cost of football as it is we have to produce an entertaining spectacle, and we just don't.
  12. The thing that gets me is that there must be sooo many fans of other championship side that say "remember that great away day in Bristol".
  13. I think you can moan about his mistakes and still think he is a player of immense quality, it's not like De Bruyne has never made a mistake and someone has got frustrated with it.
  14. Never heard of the guy which is a good sign. That being said all those saying good appointment, are these informed opinions or just he's from them prem, he's been there a long time? I see 2 administrations which gives me an Ashton type feeling (although he hung around for them some some brownie points), if he mentions any rigorous processes I'm going to o be instantly triggered ?.
  15. But wasn't that recruitment, we've just publicly said how good it is having Tinnion doing that following his success with the academy, are we going to now say that was a mistake before a single transfer window?
  16. A young innovative coach, what people on radio Bristol seemed to be asking for.
  17. Happy with that, we have enough youngsters in that position and need to have some guidance for them and who better than someone who seems to have been playing at this level forever.
  18. Ahhhhh, this should be a moment of celebration and I'm sure will be in the future but every time I see this now I'm reminded of how long our football has been dull.
  19. Who has that Plymouth crest in the changing room? Zak was sat next to it and he was there on loan but not sure it was his. Seems a bit strange.
  20. Value isn't subjective from an investment perspective. It's about finding company's that are for sale for less than there objective value. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/v/valueinvesting.asp Most value investments are long term because they are trying to avoid buying and selling fees, they usually want an asset to be able to raise capital against. No idea what's going on here but I couldn't see us being a good club to "flip" at this point.
  21. Interestingly it would likely highlight that the investor is looking for value though.
  22. Pezo

    FA Cup 22-23

Define cheap? I would imagine £25 up to £35 for middle or somewhere around there is the going rate. If they can do tickets for £20 I think that's pretty good.
  23. Well as someone who likes pyro in the stadium that is horrendous - that must have come from a flare gun? Not sue what the difference is between a flare gun and a real gun but I would imagine the consequences are similar e.g. it counts as a firearm and the person that fired it is going away for a long time. Surely no one would be that stupid in this country?
