We keep commenting that in 10 seconds he can look top end championship and a League 2 try hard. For me that doesn't equal out to bottom half championship at the moment. Another way of looking at it is that he needs Williams alongside him to be effective but no one seems to need Backinson to be effective unless I'm missing something.

I think it's the most gentle way he can be critical/address what we have all seen. if he didn't call it out he would basically be saying everything is ok - which it is clearly not.

And he made it into the starting team, imagine how much of a shirker you have to be to not make it into the squad.

He hasn't called out anyone by name it's just become obvious who they are. Previous managers called individuals out.

Well as far as I can tell he might be able to move some on but we will still be paying for them because those players aren't going to get the same as what we are already paying them (by a long way). 2 things - it's not going to clear enough headroom to bring in the quality we need and I'm not sure I like the idea of us paying Wells to score against us for QPR. So the other perspective of why bother I guess. FWIW I don't think Nige will be afforded that luxury (we don't have room for luxuries) but I think Nige would be more than prepared if he could its just that financial rules (FFP) constrain him.

I'm genuinely confused. In one post you seem to be implying that SL isn't spending by choice and this had something to to with the bears, in another post you say you know about the "restraints of FFP in the EFL", then in another following post you seem to then once again imply that it is some sort of decision not to fund Pearson. To be clear SL is wealthy enough that he could if he wanted to fund Bristol City the Bears and all the other sports ventures he is involved in a few times over but as you say there are rules such as FFP that stop this. I doubt he has a kitty for sport and then decides which way to push the money. Can you remember 19/20 when we did spend big when Kalas, Palmer, JD, HNM, Wells, Nagy, Bentley as well as about 5 other (at least) players joined? In what I think is an answer to your question - that's when we spent big.

I wondered the same thing and if Nige has backed him on some internal issues he might have had, he is being treated as a senior pro, doing the press conferences and trying to get his own thoughts across to the group and is taking that leadership opportunity. Yeah, if you have 20 people in a crowd of 20k creating the atmosphere then it's going to be a bit flat, if you have 17k all singing then surprise surprise it sounds quiet loud and enjoyable.
