  1. This is one of the drawbacks to living in a modern democracy.

When I was in China 2 years ago, our guide in Shanghai was quite ‘political’ and he said ‘you westerners value your democratic system where everyone has a say, but we built Shanghai into a huge metropolis in 30 years with fully functional everything. In your west you would still be arguing over where the first stone should be laid.’

although I wouldn’t swop his regime for ours quite yet (getting close recently) he has a point.

Fulham - we were ok / spirited -!mainly thanks to an epic shift from Reid and nowhere near our normal style but competitive

I Thought we were very poor against a pitiful QPR side but again credit for spirit / doggedness

Shetf Weds - we played some great stuff but against possibly the worst side and certainly one of the most disinterested I’ve EVER seen at AG

And those three are the highlights in how many games 15 ?

And that (The performances) don’t concern you ?

Interesting this - yet Sheffield Wednesday put Preston to the sword today which we have been unable to since I can’t remember when.

  3. Gutted we allowed yet another comeback but overall happy with an away point at Elland Road against a team with a new manager.

We need to sort our defence out and perhaps Baker’s return will do that. Scoring goals isn’t a problem for us (vs Bolton excepted) but stupid and panicky defending is - although to be fair 2 of the Sunderland goals last week were utter flukes that they won’t recreate again in 100 seasons.

Usual guff from the media - we won away at Leeds in 1978 and 1979 in the league and also there was that infamous 1974 FA Cup triumph up there....why can’t media outlets ever seem to get their facts right?! It ain’t difficult in this day and age...

EDIT: you misled me @bcfcredandwhite - just checked, the BBC said we haven’t won away at Leeds in the second tier since the 1920s...which is correct. Bit of a selective stat though!

Unintentional mate - I hadn’t read the BBC article properly.

Utter , utter, tripe. You have never played the game my son. He has been one of our most consistent players for some time and Lee has finally proved that by leaving him on tonight. He is very crucial to our sucess this season.

I have to say that Magnússon scares me too on occasions.

No, he’s not crap - far from it, and he is definitely improving all the time. I just still feel scared when he is under pressure from an opposition player near the edge of our box in a fast-flowing situation - more so than the others.  His distribution has been poor on occasions (not always, and as I said he is improving) and I’m terrified he will give the ball away in a dangerous position.

Having said all that I can’t think of anyone else in our squad I would replace him with - and his long throws in particular are a handy weapon to have in our arsenal.  He is an important part of a very special team.

  6. We were very lucky with what was a nailed on penalty. Having said that how many times has a similar situation worked against us? I’ll take that all day and do would the Derby fans in the reverse situation.

I think tonight was a point gained and a confidence boost. Yes, Paterson should have done better in the first half but Derby had plenty of chances too.

On the woodwork - yes it’s impressive and looks good when the woodwork is hit, but if those shots had been in target they would have been saved as both Frank and Luke were positioned correctly.

A good point and a morale booster for me.
