Don’t think Johnson had significantly more investment than Pearson tbf. Also don’t forget we sold Kodjia that season right at the start for £11m. Tammy as with most loans would have been a punt and the only player who he bought for any real money was Tomlin £3m and pato £1m?

I get really frustrated with the constant Johnson had more money- yes while he did make some significant signings, but he also had to deal with our best players being sold every year.

Yes the club got 11 million but lee spent nearly 8 million on 10 players in his first full season!

Pearson has spent like 1.7 mill on 4 players and got rid of 10 ...

Pearson didnt get the luxury of being able to sell a player for 11 million, as the club has been so badly run that all our best assets got let go for free when their contracts ran down!

Im not saying lee didnt do a good job, he gave us some great moments and he had to put up with the ridiculous model of selling our best players within the slightest sniff of them getting value ( always a good model when wanting to get promoted)

But yes lee had a better situation than pearson and i cant see why anyone would be arguing otherwise..

saying it how i see it. thats what a forum is. more and more are beginning to think the same about nigel. he needs results and performances to shut me and many more who think the same as me up. if you are happy with what is happening then thats fine.

I dont particularly think fans with your point of view and lack of common sense or reasoning are much of a problem for nige.

His record speaks for himself, this team is poor and they are still 7 points away from the playoffs! And also should be alot higher due to last minute goals..

Whats with clueless fans who know nothing about football and think they are experts in football management ?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when its blind criticism and no common sense its irritating!

Bristol city with their current squad are exactly where they deserve to be in the table, pearson has been crystal clear since he joined the club that this season would be consolidation. So why are some expecting playoffs and fancy beautiful football from one transfer window?

Wasnt lee johnson in the same boat when he joined us? Saved us from relegation then the season after we were 17th even with tammy Abraham! And alot more investment than pearson has had!

He took them from Champions to 7th, he was never surviving that.

That said, there's a certain irony in that if he hadn't already managed United, he'd probably be being talked about as a leading contender if they bin Solskjaer.

Not exactly as clear cut as that is it.. they havnt been champions since and had an aging squad that fergie didnt update for years, no1 was ever going to do well after fergie without time.

  4. Football media and pundits have such short memories and reactions, to think moyes was ridiculed and made to feel past it since the united job!

If united let moyes build his team and not sack him after less than a season in charge they would be challenging for titles in my eyes..

Even west ham got rid of him after he kept them up thinking they could do better.

Maybe our fans need to give our manager more time to build an actual team with some transfer windows and some proper investment!

Being honest, I think we are struggling with the dual impact of a squad that is not good enough and managerial team that are very clear that the squad is not good enough. We have a team of poor players and a lack of balance but also a team that clearly know the manager does not rate them and probably suspect he is right not to rate them. Quality is poor and confidence is shot. Such a dangerous combination.

If my manager didnt rate me id do everything to prove him wrong.. let alone 20k bristol city fans every home game booing me! I dont think its effort from the players i just think they arnt very good..

I really hoped to have not said this but.. Pearson might not be the man for the job. A proven manager who's been there and done it and we look and play worse as we have done for years now. It's a real shame.

Re read what you just said and think about it... if hes a proven manager whos been there and done it.. surely the manager isnt the problem its the investment into the players

All well and good changing manager but some unbelievably still can’t see the obvious...the players are absolutely sh*t.

A mismatch of mentally weak or never were good enough ‘footballers’ assembled under the previous regime as they would be subservient to the owners vanity manager and we now are left with this shambles.

Plus look at the track record in our owners choices....

Exactly this.. fans seem to think a change of manager will suddenly make us better!

The players are not good enough, if we would of won today we would of been 4 points from the playoffs which sounds crazy to me..

It shows that we have missed a trick and should of backed the manager with more strength in depth in the summer.

  8. Looking at the form guide i thought a draw against luton would be a good result, its just a shame we let in a last minute goal, i really dont get the bi polar reactions tho when we win and lose, we literally beat cardiff last game and now theres posts and negativity over a draw?!

Do people really think were going to be competing for promotion when we have only signed 4 players and let go of 11?! People need to lower their expectations, we finally have a manager who can read the game and can build a promotion win ing team and the fans moan when the project has barely started! How long did lee johnson get? How much money did he waste? Think people.

The most bizarre thing is people will expect Andy to train every day, be on a very strict diet, and then only get paid if and when he's played. It's totally bonkers!

Why is it? If he looks after himself hes a gtd starter is he not? Im pretty sure i dont get paid if i dont turn up to work! Training and keeping fit is the minimum of a footballer anyway

  10. I dont see the hate for lee Johnson, he clearly had a passion for Bristol city and football in general, gave us that great cup run, put bristol city in the spotlight as a nice attacking team which in turn got us some great loans and attract some good players.

To hate him is very strange, you dont know him personally so why be so personal, you could say you didnt rate him as a managed but to be irritated by him as a person seems petty.

I have met him many times and hes been friendly and always had time for fans..

He could of slagged us off by now but hes had great things to say about the club and rhe fans

  11. The guy clearly must has issues, what a way to ruin your career! You cant defend those kind of actions, he was lucky enough no employer or sponsor turned their backs when he got with his brothers wife but to beat up his gf, wow what a horrible guy.

Had the chance to take wales to a major tournament and his ego i guess thought he could get away with anything..

I really hope he gets sacked but chances are he makes an apology and says he has mental health issues and gets away with it and quits after the euros..
