  1. I begin to think we started to believe our own publicity and think we only have to turn up to win.
  2. We have neither managed the game nor pressed home the advantage. Caught between two tactical stools.
  3. I was there with 2 friends. The oldest was 14. I blame the parents.
  4. Yes I know, I did say 'crudely' as I was crudely illustrating a point about the alleged curse. Genuine question though: Given that every match is an independent event, is it objectively the case that the probability of a 'good' team winning is greater? At the point at which all matches kick off are all results equally likely or can we quantify subjective factors like confidence to say otherwise?
  5. Lost our discipline and composure. Unusual but we have to bounce back at Villa. Don't want a Cardiff style slump.
  6. A bit of a myth. Last figures I saw the MOTM winner won or drew around 70% of the games following their award. Since, crudely, there is a 33% chance of each possible result this is pretty much what you would expect.
  7. Yes of course, I'm looking at 6 games. Ipswich to hold them to a draw then.
  8. I understand the concept of a plastic fan even if I find it a bit tedious but what on earth is a plastic player? If he means not home grown, how many Bristol boys/academy graduates are in the Rovers squad? And what is a community club, other than one at least part owned by the fans perhaps? Perhaps he means the well known Gashead community in Jordan? The digaspora so to speak. If he is referring to the family club myth, that seems to lack an evidence base, other than the BP repeatedly calling it such. If he means a club that is active in the community, our record is rather good on that front too, as recent well publicised events have shown. All in all not a well made case then. Must try harder.
  9. Poundland is likely to be too expensive. Dumpster diving is more the level I think.
  10. And Gillingham are bog standard too yet they they were thrashed.
  11. He consistently says he takes responsibility while simultaneously making it clear it's all the players' fault.
  12. How many different players have scored for us this season? So much better than relying on a single prolific striker.
  13. Quite. 17 years and the wheel on this cycle appears to be turning backwards. And does it not occur to this half wit that their crowds could only dwarf ours if they had a new stadium? As opposed to new toilets.
  14. The general rule is that Latin words adopted into English attract English plurals e.g. forums not fora. So addendums is fine.
  15. Given the injury situation we are showing astonishing adaptability and resilience. A sign of mental strength and togetherness. This is a team to be proud of.
  16. We are regressing to the mean, not helped by injuries. Disappointing, but probably to be expected.
  17. Maybe so if you like cliches, repetition and self contradiction. All managers under pressure say they are fighters and won't quit. It's code for 'I won't resign because I want a pay off'. Still it was certainly interesting to hear him claim to take full responsibility yet accuse his players of crumbling then claim he would boost their confidence. A certain lack of coherence there. It's pretty standard too for managers to claim they take responsibility while blaming everybody else. The fact is that he has been duped by the owner and has been as gullible as the fans. He is now paying the price for that and his past hubris.
  18. Not going to happen unless they move the whole club to Portugal first.
  19. Championship ready dug outs mind you.
