Sick of all the snidey posts tbh, just like a bunch of old 'wimmin' sticking in the boot when patently there is no justification at all, it says OTIB on the tin and yet some /most seem to delight in undermining this club and what it is obviously striding for. Is it a Bristol malaise that has to constantly attack individuals? The very people who have the best interests for Bristol City, I know football fans are fickle by nature but this forum currently is demonstrating a dislike for the club and most certainly the people who are employed by the club.

Dare anyone actually call out these posts they are quickly dealt with by a follow up of 's or face palms....or even memes demonstrating to me they have lost the argument and resort to basic trolling.

This forum must be food and drink to the other lot, FFS show a bit of support.

    Quick question ...

You do know you can look at the Club , the owners , the Staff and players as separate entities don't you ?

You can love the Club and really dislike and criticise any of the others , you really can.

On the replay you could see the assistant only comes into the picture just as Gnonto scores. Well behind the play.

TBF he probably couldn't see the guy that scored was offside because of the other guy that was offside blocking his view.

Mental game! I`ve got to be up at 4.30 for work tomorrow so was going to bed at HT. Why can`t it be a boring 0-0?

You're safe to go to bed, won't be any more goals now I've just turned it on ;)

  4. I hadn't seen this Tweet before and I couldn't find footage showing the Lino, but if this is right VAR makes no difference. If there wasn't any, and the Lino flags it would have been offside.

Doesn't excuse VAR , but just thought that I saw some on Twitter saying it should be left to Refs & Lino's , in which case it looks like it would still have been ruled out. Something else I saw which made sense, use thick lines so it can't be just a toenail .

    Absolutely correct.

Analogue is reliant on getting a decent audio feed and cables are so important.

Before upgrading your speakers, check your cables. If you have Bell wire then you have a major issue!

I made my own cables using Cat5 and it was very interesting and cost saving when comparing the market. I've now upgraded to Audioquest for interconnects.

Regarding speaker cables though, I have had a few in my time. Monster Cable was the big thing early 80s, then QED 79 strand late 80s. I can't remember what I replaced those with but 5 years ago I went to my local hifi store for a demo.

What I ended up purchasing was not what I thought I was going to initially buy. Chord Cables have always been deemed as really good but expensive. However, when listening to their range, the Sarsen cable from Chord really amazed me. It's deliberately thinner than most cables and is designed to go round corners and for hiding out of sight. Yet, the quality was unbelievable.

I bought more than 20 ft per speaker. More than enough to run my front speakers from where the amp is.

I have given you the length to emphasise just how good they can handle the load required to drive my floor Standers.

Take your favourite CDs etc with you as you'll know the tracks and how they sound.

Upgrading speaker cable is far cheaper than upgrading the speakers themselves.

FWIW, my speakers are over 30 years old. I've replaced the rubber rings once 6 years ago. They still sound great.  The cables have added a new life to the speakers and saved me money!

When I was looking for a new Amp & speakers, I went to (I think) Paul Roberts. They never mentioned speakers and put together what they thought I should have. This is some years ago and would have cost me £700-£800 for something that sounded no more than ok.
I went into Richer Sounds with my CD player & Deck and the first thing he did was put it together with some proper interconnecting cables. I would have happily walked out without buying anything else, the improvement in sound was unreal.

Also I had done some reading and had an idea what I wanted, but when I went in the guy put together an Amp I liked with some basic speakers. Sounded better than Paul Roberts already. He then added some Elate floor standing speakers. Before we played anything I questioned him as I had read these were highly thought of for Classical music. This is where I say again , go and listen. I would never have got these speakers, but after running through a few albums I was blown away. It all still sounds great to my ears. That's with my original 1980 Technics SL-D3 from 1980.
I always tell anyone, quality cables first . Then whatever you want to add make sure you listen first.

I would offer a note of caution in respect of defence albeit their are some transitional periods as we go between back 4, back 3, back again. This offsets some of it and things are on the up again but this Isn t so much a critique of individuals but I wonder if we are quite as rock solid. We're good, we're decent don't get me wrong.

This is somewhere near where I am. Yes on the whole we have been good, but I tend to look at the chances we allow that are missed . Yes , no one will take every chance, but just looking at our game Vs Leicester Vardy will have few days like that.
When some are going "weyhey !! " when someone misses a gilt edge chance , I'm thinking" that was poor from us, and lucky".

The conversation has been had before, when we were getting in lots of last ditch tackles , clean sheets are great but tend to look beyond that. We have a sound base , and I think a stronger MF will help , but we are not there yet.

When people talk about ‘Manningball’ I assume they mean the possession based patient build up style, that takes a low risk approach to losing possession and getting caught in transition. More Man City, Leicester, Southampton than say Ipswich, Leeds, Liverpool.

Its a scale of course, but when people talk about giving LM windows to get in his players to play his way, there is no universe in which we get in players of the cost of those with parachute payments. It’s a dead end, we will never out Southampton Southampton, given our budgets. We are more like to end up as Russell Martin’s Swansea.

My worry is that we were going to try for a Man City type game, and we can't , but it can be incredibly dull interspersed with World Class when they do it, that's something we simply can't do. I like us playing that high press , we look organised and threatening . We need to learn to play with a higher % of the ball and play at a better tempo in those games. We played some nice stuff against Norwich , but they gave us the opportunity to play. If we can find a way to have the ball and not settle into a slow pass/pass/pass (Swansea) , which inevitably ends in a slow turgid performance .

I'm hopeful that Manning has learnt and gets us mixing styles , we need to be able to keep the ball to see games out, but we look better all round when pressing high.

Going forward into next year , a real "10" might help . Whether Twine , which I doubt , or someone else it can (maybe) turn us into a top 10 challenger . We look like our preferred formation is back 3/5 , fine we have the players to do that , though we need a couple to fill out the squad.
I'd be happy to keep Conway , tough though. We will not get full value if we sell and will not improve on him for the same money. That's the first tough call.
Williams is another , I'd keep him if possible , not just down to what we want though.
Is Roberts now a CB ? You have to wonder about Atkinson & Naismith so if he is ( and I think that would be a good balance) we need another LWB.
I think we are short of a genuine left sided AMF.
Lots of questions to answer ......

All about our budget now .

Stuart Attwell the Luton fan who gave a goal against Watford, that didn’t even go in the net?  You’ll remember that we’ll Mark!

    Suggest he has form.

Just watched them quickly, third is a pen for sure.

On another day I could see all 3 given. I have seen 1 & 3 given recently .
I have no problem with the Ref missing any of those, but VAR can see from several angles Young catches or kicks the forward.

some of you will be proper music aficionados I know - my little man cave is fine and using MACKIE CR4-X Speakers - sounds ok but maybe needs a touch more base

without spending silly money and keeping the speakers themselves on the smaller side - should I stick to Mackie or are others a better option?

When I was starting out buying my first Amp & speakers, they told me not to worry about cost or name, if you like the sound the equipment is right for you. So I always tell anyone thinking about new stuff go and listen to it. Richer Sounds are usually good for selection and they have some good quality , cheaper end stuff .Some stores have a listening room which is a big help. When I was looking for my first upgrade many years ago, the guy suggested better quality cables , that made a difference I didn't believe. Taking my own equipment and hearing how cables and different speakers sounded was a great way to spend a day. Also saved me a load of money from what another audio shop wanted to sell me.

  9. The Huddersfield Vs Birmingham game means not both can over take many teams. That game is massive as I don't see a lot of points going to those 5 who are fighting to go down. In fact , the only points that are likely to go to any of them is that game.
I can see a draw at Huddersfield keeping a spawny Brum up again

Based on their recent form, they’ll probably win both! 🤣🤣🤣

They beat Sunderland and Leeds, drew with Southampton and lost to us and Wednesday.

    Bonkers!

It's a great League , I hope it never changes....

Apart from next year with our record breaking League winning run

  11. All getting interesting at the bottom(s) .

Just looked at the table, now I want Wednesday to win . That would really drag Brum into it.
Looking at the final day fixtures, I think today and next Saturday seals someones fate. That HTFC V BCFC looks massive. At 1-1 it's just Goal difference between Weds and Brum.

Then in half an hour Everton or Forest could be looking over their shoulders.
