One thing that seems to have gone unnoticed - if the authorities are satisfied it wasn’t a penalty, shouldn’t their player be serving a three game ban for “successfully deceiving the referee”, or whatever the term is?
It would be nice if they actually do their research and have a look at our penalty stats and apology letter situation, but perhaps I hope for too much.
Are there two more dislikable people in football than that odious pair? It’s their job to be contrarian and get people riled up, not worth taking them too seriously. It’s actually a shame cos SJ can be quite thoughtful about the game on occasion.
You can get cheap tickets at Villa as well. And your example requires you to be a member, which requires money up front too. I’m not criticising City specifically, just pointing out that modern football clubs have forced the relationship to transition from fan to customer, and they should expect to reap what they have sown in terms of expectation.
If the club insist on charging premier league prices, despite repeated calls from supporters for some cheaper tickets, then some signs of progress towards at least a PO challenge isn’t unreasonable.
Its the curse of the modern age. Preaching water while drinking wine.
E2A: this isn’t a dig at the club, I really like that excess food is given to the needy.
I thought he was poor but his reputation may have something to do with that and might have coloured my interpretation of his decisions.
No way could I see his performance as a consistent one, but we didn’t lose because of the ref.
I hope he does well but he’s not playing in the Irish league by accident. Could still kick on and make a good career in England, but the gas, Cheltenham, swindon and FGR aren’t far away, and none of them deemed him worthy of a punt
I don’t see us troubling the play offs, but I see a decent mid table finish as achievable, provided we don’t lose any of our top players late in the window.
