  1. All seems a bit flat today, doesn't sound like the crowd are up for it either Time for SC to change it and give us a spark.....JET, perhaps?
  2. Anyone remember going to Orient during a promotion season (guessing it was the 89-90 G*s year) when all you could hear for the 10 mins before kick off was the hordes of City singing 'bring on the champions'? I was going to say it seems like a long time ago, but I suppose it is Orient 3 City 0 - I really have no hope for tonight, and very little for the rest of the season Got 6 episodes of Breaking Bad to go, so going to immerse myself in that and not bother checking my phone I'm lying of course, first bollocking of the evening will come from the missus at about 7.48 when I've already checked my phone 5 times and I've missed some key point that I'm supposed to be watching. Then I'll give up at about 7.53 when Orient score and get back into BB. When it's still 1-0 at 7.59 I'll convince myself that we're doing ok and keep checking for the next 7 minutes, until the 2nd goes in (8.06 for those that are still with me). Come half time I'll still convince myself we're in it as we haven't conceded again yet. Come 8.54 when the 3rd goes in I'll remember that it's Tuesday and I have to put the bins out, then try and work out if it's an actual bin night, or just recycling. Then I'll spill the food recycling bin all over the drive and have to pick it up, by hand, in the dark and rain and remind myself this is the best the evening is going to get To cheer myself up at the final whistle I'll come on here and see how much stick Flint, JET etc get and feel sorry for the poor buggers travelling home from spending hard earned cash watching the pile of shit they've just sat through and feel glad I'm in my warm house and the fact that I've nearly finished BB (not really grabbed me to be honest, not a patch on 24) Anyway, I digress 'Bring on the champions'
  3. Didn't his brother play rugby for Brizzle?
  4. Wolves would destroy us if we had 15 players out there, and that included Messi & Ronaldo It's the law - City never beat Wolves
  5. This They must have someone lined up. Falling out of love with City. Off to Kingsholm tomorrow night, we're struggling as bad as City right now. Complete faith in the coach there, bringing the young lads through. No panic
  6. What about the Spanish guy in charge of the young uns? Why not let him have a go, can't get much worse Surprised by the timing of this, but maybe I shouldn't be - the board do not have my confidence in any way, shape or form
  7. Fordy62 would know your old man too...
  8. Just pm'd you...I'm racking my brains as to who you might be!
  9. Yeah I should also add that I was in no way good enough for County League 1. I tore Div 3 up in our promotion season though!
  10. Good spot Super I played Glos County Div 1 at my highest, I had a problem with not bringing the bat down straight enough on a defensive shot and was getting bowled time after time. Like Trott, everything I could see myself in I was practising, seeing where the fault was. I was playing for fun, this is Trott's livelihood. I can see how it can affect someone Watched Trott at Lords a couple of times, his routine between balls was amazing, and to be honest a bit dull after I while. I get it now
  11. Agree Phants. Even Healy is saying it's gone too far, he was never shy of letting someone know what he thought of them, was he? I don't for one minute think that England are saints when it comes to 'having a word', but some of the crap in the media over there is way out of line
  12. The same Shane Warne who ripped Cook a new one, then retracted it on Talksport the next day? Attention seeking *****. Fine cricketer he was, he should stick to the poker though
  13. Vaughan....glad it's not just me finding him irritating. Radio off when he comes on, great player but strikes me as a real shit bloke
  14. Not read the whole thread, so apologies if I'm going over old ground here, but I hope Jimmy ******* breaks Clarke's arm in Adelaide. ******* preening, shortarse, smug Aussie****. I hope Johnson wears a couple too. And Warner. Watson as well. If our boys aren't wound up for the next test then I give up Makes me wonder if Warner knew about Trott's impending departure the other night, I've read today that he didn't. I hope that is correct, because if he did then I hope he never suffers from stress/depression and has someone calling him out to the world Was kind of hoping that the Aussies would win the 1st test to set it all up for some brilliant cricket over the next 6 weeks or so, but you've got to wonder now if they are going to blow us away. With no Trott, and no natural no 3 batsmen out there (Bell maybe?) if one of Jimmy or Broad go down with an injury we are well and truly screwed
  15. Wasn't trying to be patronising, just pointing out the facts. There is a massive difference between the two If that happened at Cardiff to your Dad and he wasn't involved in anything then that is completely wrong. But why do you think the police were reacting to City fans like that on that particular day (presuming that you're on about last season)? There were pics of pissed up City fans on twitter from about 8.30 in the morning, then pics of smashed up pubs from about 10am. Maybe it's the fans that go to places to get pissed and smash up pubs that you want to be venting your anger on, if they didn't do that then I'm sure your Dad wouldn't have got his face smashed in.....just saying Is it heavy handed? Massively. Is it unwarranted? No. They broke the law, they will get what they deserve As for me being a Tory.....you went way below the belt there, poppet
  16. Ha, was proving my point that it wasn't difficult to understand why these people would be getting a knock on the door (or just having it smashed in)
  17. Well, thank **** for that then If you, or a mate, family member was injured at the game (and I don't know if anyone actually was) then you'd be applauding. Fans were warned, cctv is everywhere - I'm not sure what else you can do. Don't run on the pitch, don't smash your seat up, don't spit at an opposing player - it's not brain science, is it?
  18. And the biggest over reaction of the year goes to........ I'm not a massive fan of the police, but have to say that killing innocent people isn't at the top of the list when I think about my issues with the local plod
  19. Most of the players would've talked over Gary's head - he wasn't the tallest......
  20. Thanks Homer - just read that online Sounds like slow going for GCFC, could be a long road back to Glos for them
  21. Pretty certain there's less miles involved for Gloucester being in the North division, bizarrely! I love what Dale Vince is doing, I'd back the fella all the way. I love seeing the windmill in Nympsfield, I'd be all over seeing the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside with more of them. Someone has to do something, it's not going to last forever. I'd prefer an 'eyesore', as some people deem them, than going back to the dark ages, or paying multi billion pound companies an extra 20% year on year for my heating, g*s, electric whatever. Although I'm not sure I'll ever get used to seeing the old Stroud & Swindle building in Stroud with his green Ecotricity signs all over it. Just looks wrong!
  22. Same here Edward, big night last night for The Tigers in terms of returning home, need to read up to see how that went. Got a stuffing off Brackley Town at home last night as well. Gloucester vs Brackley - two bastions of 'northern' football! Never met the fella, going on what people tell me who have, and who work for him Agree that he's done some tremendous things, but there's plenty of people out there who have done good things but that doesn't make them nice people, or any less unplonkerish than other people
  23. Nailsworth will be a nightmare if they do go up, I work a mile or so away, night games would be a real pain in the backside for me getting home! Was in town the day they played the Blue Redbirds in a friendly, was blocked for ages after. I would worry about their 'Rockwell Army' (I think they're called that) getting the shit kicked out of them 23 times that season too - they like to think they are a tidy little firm, there's only about 6 of them, bless! Good luck to them though, their owner is a bit of a plonker, but to be fair he's stuck by the manager when things looked like they were going wrong and they are turning it around massively
