  1. Just seen the result, not really heard anything about the performance as currently working in dubai and on a temporary phone so not spoken to any of my pal's that go regularly... On the face of it without knowing the ins and outs of the performance a first home win for the new gaffer is a huge positive... You reds!
  2. That is a disgrace. A clear clear penalty.. The Italians very lucky - would have loved to see them not qualify for yet another major tournament aswell.
  3. Played for England in 6 different age groups. Probably qualified via a great great grandparent or some rubbish. Embarrassing.
  4. Yeah fair enough, he obviously didn't want to lose the game and 3 days is clearly not enough time to implement what him and Hogg want the team to be doing in possession - i get that. I just felt we were SO bad in possession for long spells yesterday, worst i've seen us with the ball in a long long time. Not blaming Manning for that directly but you'd have thought he would have tried to have gotten some bits across possession wise in the time he had with the squad seeing as defensively we have been fairly solid this season.. Perhaps yesterday with the ball it was just a bad day at the office, as you said given 2 weeks now with the squad you hope we will see us looking like we have a bit more of a clue of what we are doing in possession against Boro.
  5. That is something that suprised me aswell, 'we haven't done any work in possession' found that very strange.
  6. One of the most ridiculous comments i have ever seen on OTIB and trust me i have been on here a while and seen a lot. A ******* ridiculous comment, as @luke_bristol says we are averaging 22,000 at home week in week out FFS, with our recent history its an absolute miracle we can still pull in those sorts of crowds.
  7. still too early to judge in my humble option albeit the signs don't look good..
  8. Szmodics would have been very much 'on the bus' i feel if Pearson would have had him under his tenure.. A shame as he is clearly showing he is more than capable at this level, he was probably ready in 2020 but like you said never given the opportunity or that arm around his shoulder. Just another club in the bag that got tossed to one side by LJ..
  9. Really there shouldn't be any 'pressure' on manner as such in the first few games but it's naive to think pressure won't mount considerably quickly if we don't get off to a good start. That has nothing to do with Manning and everything to do with the situation the owners have put him in IMO. I think for everyones sake 5-8 points would be a decent return and anything more would be a bonus, really hoping we do as i cannot stand this club and going down to Ashton Gate when the atmosphere is toxic..
  10. It's not just the added seats that a new Atyeo would bring, its the extra corporate space that the club could potentially rake in from more hospitality boxes (personally don't think the amount we have right now in the Lansdown is enough for demand) and the extra conference space a new stand would bring.
  11. Yeah i didn't get a good vibe watching it either, maybe we are looking into it too much..
  12. Impossible to know what the older heads in that room are thinking. Will still be a huge amount of loyalty and respect for Pearson, you just hope the players take to Mannings methods fairly quickly..
  13. Well they weren’t going to come out and be honest about the reason were they, anybody that thought that is naive to the extreme. The fanbase has been treated with absolute disdain and contempt for a long long time now by Mr Lansdown, it peaked for me when the words ‘its my club i will do what i like with it’ were uttered out of his mouth not too long ago. Anyway i sincerely hope this works out and as i’ve said in a previous post first impressions of Manning he does come across well. Means absolutely F all though untill we see results coming in so i will reserve judgement, hell of a lot of pressure on the bloke - i hope him and his team can deliver.
  14. Are you actually an employee of Bristol Sport? Genuine question.
  15. I must say after hearing him speak i am feeling quietly optimistic!
  16. And winning something in 1985 is in the forefront of Mannings mind no doubt.. Not sure where we are going with this. We are a bigger football club than them at this present time in every conceivable way. Yes they won a trophy in 1985, we also played in the toplight around that same time
  17. That was almost as long ago as the time we were in the topflight aswell
  18. Can’t argue with any of that. Feels to me this is the last big roll of the dice for the Lansdowns, it’s clear Steve has got it in his head that a young progressive ‘up and coming’ head coach is the way to go - backed up by his comments that he isn’t best pleased that clubs like Luton Brentford etc etc have all reached the top flight before us. Manning will get my full backing and at the end of the day i want whats best for our football club. This could very well be a stroke of genius from Lansdown and as much as i want the bloke to piss off and sell up I genuinely hope this appointment works out irrespective of my feelings towards him and his son.
  19. Indeed. Such is life. We are a fair few rungs up the proverbial football ladder than Oxford who as i said on a previous post haven’t played football at this level in almost 26 years.. They can say all they want about us being mediocre in the Championship (which granted we have) but where the **** have they been the last 15-20 years? Bobbing around the fourth tier/ third tier and having a nice little stint in non-league (similar to our blue neighbours) all whilst getting at best no more than 8 k home gates..
  20. 100%. I don’t think anyone truly knows Tinnion’s role but i’d be shocked and equally terrified if he had full control of future signings and Manning had no say. I just can’t see it working like that personally.
  21. Whats the overtime rates that Bristol Sport are paying, just out of interest?..
  22. Can see a few of their fans are starting to feel a bit bitter about the situation, can’t blame them i guess as this could more than likely derail their promotion campaign. At the end of the day he makes some valid points and we have been underwhelming since our return to the Championship but something has to give IMO and maybe Manning with the right financial backing (which i think he will get) can be the man to take us to the next level. Nothing against Oxford but for a club that hasn’t played in the second tier in almost 26 years and that have spent a fair chunk of that time in the basement and non-league as i said it just seems pretty pointless and bitter to suggest that coming to us isn’t a good move for Manning.
