  1. Evening. Did you eat at the full restaurant , or the new tare bistro one they have opened up (next door to 7 lucky gods). I am going to the latter in a few weeks. Looks like it’s easier to order small plates in bistro rather than the main one where it looks like more set menus
  2. Very enjoyable went on a table of 4. ordered a load of different snacks/starters which we shared. All were nice I had a slow cook ox dish for main with Pedro Jimenez Source which was lovely. we over ordered a bit on sides. The portions on the mains were actually pretty generous , so we had a whole potato side that went spare. we were so stuffed we didn’t all get a desert but I shared a lemon posset type dish with shortbread with one of the other diners and it was amazing. service good , nice place . Would recommend. did rack up quite a bill with a few bottles of wine on top etc , but a nice evening all round
  3. Going to the new one in Clifton this eve , will report back
  4. There was a bit of chat across a couple of music threads here about a band called sprints who have a sold out show at thekla in a few months, and have recently released quality debut album just a note to say they have added a date at marble factory in November this year . So for anyone who missed out on the thekla gig ( a few posters mentioned they had caught them a bit late ) it would be an option to catch them local without travelling
  5. Crikey this fella is banging in more free kicks than James Ward-Prowse. Sign him up ! Shots from distance also , unheard of at Ashton gate for years ha
  6. I am aware of this individual. We often take bets on what minute he will chirp up with either ‘move’ , ‘forward’ or ‘get into them’ ha
  7. With the streets, or just him on his own ? Must be the whole gang I would imagine ?
  8. I saw them in Cardiff in 2008 on the 4th album tour. They were one of my fave bands at that point although that 4th album change of direction put me off a bit after. Setlist on the night was still 75% the previous great stuff though. Not much ‘performance’, but they had the tunes and that was enough. Haven’t really paid much attention since then as none of singles have grabbed me and reviews of subsequent albums have been pretty middling. Bring back the beards and long hair and first 3 albums I reckon Ha
  9. Two posters on the efestivals Glastonbury forum believe that Kings of Leon are signed up to play Ashton Gate on Sunday 23rd June (the day after this bs3 live thing).
  10. Decent chance the headliner might be burna boy I guess after he liked the event on some social media channel a while back he headlined a night on the other stage at Glastonbury one year a year or two back which is a bigger slot than Ne-yo or Craig David would get if they played there
  11. Had my suspicions they might go down this kind of direction . Won’t be for me , but hopefully it’s successful. Don’t get too many big mainstream act events in Bristol so something a bit different. stuff I prefer is already pretty well catered for with forwards festival and a few smaller ones like dot 2 dot , plus a decent range of small-medium gig venues
  12. I wonder if they have held it back deliberately to allow for city to deal with the sale of West Ham tickets. Appreciate they have set up its own accounts but I imagine they will be looking to use lots of the Bristol sport social channels to advertise/sell this show
  13. Yeah they are great. Think I mentioned them on here a month or two back. Debut album is out today. I’ve got a ticket for that thekla gig, gonna be great live I reckon.
  14. I’m going to take a day off and watch them at APE in London in August (with pixies/jockstrap + others), but only if they don’t pop up at forwards just a week later on the downs (or at glasto) . Hoping forwards don’t drag their headliner announcement out too long. Idles must also be a good shout for a headliner there
  15. Idles, lcd soundsystem , young fathers all playing a festival in Dublin 3 days later, would take all them please ha . I think this will likely be a bit more mainstream though with more of a radio 1 and 2 vibe combined to try and appeal to as many as possible. things like forwards festival cater more to the alternative / 6 music scene already. Guess it will maybe be dependant on who is available and affordable though
  16. Forwards stages are quite some distance apart , plus the lie of the land avoids major sound bleed. Acts there can overlap a bit with no bother at all. You still have to dash from stage to stage to see all the acts. the primavera setup, and likely that of this Ashton gate thing , means you just have to turn your body about 45 degrees towards the other stage. No proper movement required. Thats my kind of lazy ha (extra points if they have roaming beer distributors using those big backpacks).
  17. Quite a few European festivals use a two stage setup , either side by side , or end to end. It lets the sound teams/tech guys set up one stage while the other stage is playing, meaning no big gaps between sets. I went to primavera in Barcelona last year and they did this (side by side). It meant only 5-10 mins between acts rather than about 30 mins + like at Glastonbury or similar
  18. I guess while still a loan we would be protected against buying him if he was unfortunate to suffer an absolute shocker of an injury

    TGH

Are we expecting an announcement that we are taking up option to buy him the second the transfer window opens? or will it be later in window or even end of the season ?

Speaking to a couple of hull fans post game in pub , they were very impressed by our number 11
  21. Seen bootleg Beatles a few times at glasto and they were enjoyable watched Australian pink Floyd in bath recently and they were brilliant I don’t really tend to go looking for tribute bands , but did in these cases as not like I am ever gonna see either of these original acts live Didn’t they used to do a full tribute festival in keynsham each year. Prob a cracking singalong my sis went to watch an arctic monkeys and foo fighters one at fleece recently. Said both good . I think they have a decent number in the fleece
  22. In on the coach! Buzzing anyone else have any luck?
  23. If you guys are heading out to cologne , consider taking the a relatively short side trip to Düsseldorf also. Went on a stag do there a few years ago when a big summer tournie was was on (Russia 2018). Had a cracking couple of days sinking beers and watching Footie in the bars down by the big river. Saying that I haven’t actually been to Cologne itself so that may be even better of course, but def consider Düsseldorf
  24. I blanked out but only went for final so was always a massive long shot
  25. Deadletter get marked down for double booking against city at home though, although the gig was announced first. Screw you fixture scheduler
