  1. If you guys are heading out to cologne , consider taking the a relatively short side trip to Düsseldorf also. Went on a stag do there a few years ago when a big summer tournie was was on (Russia 2018). Had a cracking couple of days sinking beers and watching Footie in the bars down by the big river. Saying that I haven’t actually been to Cologne itself so that may be even better of course, but def consider Düsseldorf

Definitely won't be to everyone's taste but loving this lot at the moment.

Have you heard of Deadletter ? Off to watch them tonight in Bristol but sold out (small venue).

had a fair bit of 6 music play . I think if you like Yard Act (as do I), you would like these guys. Check out top 5 tunes on Spotify for a flavour , no full album yet

in other newish music tips , have also been getting into a band called Sprints , who I believe have previously supported Yard Act on tour. Playing thekla next April and I think they will be epic inside the boat

  3. I really enjoyed Andor. Preferred the slower arc than crazy lightsaber battles every single week.

ahsoka been good so far too. Just watched Ep 7 so only one more to go. What’s this Baylan skoll fella up to? Keeping his cards close to his chest it seems

  4. Morning all. Thinking of taking my 5 year old down to get a shirt tomorrow from club shop.

Can anyone who has bought / seen the junior kits comment on whether quality is ok and/or it has the weird massive collar that some of the adult ones appear to have on pics?

probably gonna have to bite bullet and get one either way as he’s filled his star chart up and been asking for one for ages.

Hoping it will at least look ok though after dropping circa £40 on it

  5. Went to Noah’s in the week. Very nice grub for all 4 diners , starters and mains

I had been a bit surprised as I expected there to be a posh cod and chips for about £15 , then loads of much more expensive dishes beyond that

as it was the cod and chips was about £18, but most of the rest of mains weren’t any more than £25. So wasnt quite the two tier menu I had expected

  6. Hello all

in previous years we used to get £10 store credit on each adult season ticket.

has this been done away with? I guess so as can’t see any mention on the season ticket page of the website.

looking to buy son a junior kit soon and I as wondering if I could get £10 knocked off price if I waited for season ticket to arrive

    cheers in advance

  7. Managed to find a route in on Friday , trader ticket allocation that was going spare

walked onto back of pyramid field just as foos started which was a bit of a moment as didn’t think I would be going this year and all came together at last min

Highlights were Elton , Cat Stevens (incredible voice), Guns and Roses (even if Axl can’t get all the notes anymore), Shame, my first ever visit to see Casseteboy/dj rubbish in glade

also watched Royal Blood, Arctics, murder capital, Lizzo, Rick astley, Blondie, lil Nas X and a little bit of henge in shangri la on Sunday before my legs told me it was home time . Enjoyed all

also had a good laugh in a bar called ‘hop and liquor’ post headliner on a couple of nights. Just banging out some great 80s/90s/noughties tunes and good vibes in there

spent way more time on pyramid than normal this year watching ‘heritage’ acts, so looking forward to checking out all the stuff I missed on the other stages now on iplayer. Got a long list going already

  8. Hello all.

I will be trying to get tickets for myself and two mates tomorrow in the last chance saloon 9am resale.

It’s 4 people per application , so we will only need to get through once. They have also removed the need to make payment , you just register the persons details and a payment link is sent to those individuals direct latterly.

if anybody on here might be awake and willing to help me out let me know here and I will private message you the registrationdetails.

got a few people trying already but I think it’s going to a be a pure numbers game: they will likely sell out quickly so prob all done by 9:15 ish anyway

  9. Are the kits on sale in store from 9am today? I might go and have a look in a minute as walking by

nothing I can see on the online store

doh! - just re read the coms and looks like 10am in store today , before becoming available on may 1st online

May be wrong but "Chefs menu" sounds a bit like "Today's Specials",also known as ,"We have got lots of this we need to shift before it goes off".

They pitch it as a selection of our signature/best dishes from across the money

cynic in me suggests you may be correct though ha

Really interested to know...without trying to sound like a ****.

Looking at the menu...what did you glean from eating at the Chefs table?

It's pretty much straight forward, basic ' Italian style' food.

Apart from presenting it ' stylishly '...it's common food eaten commonly.

Like I said...not being funny...but I don't see anything in the menu that you wouldn't experience at any regular ' Italian' restaurant.

Just intrigued why anyone would pay or want to experience a chef's table with such a basic menu.

Sorry I have mixed up the terms.

chefs menu , was basically letting the chef pick a selection of dishes off the menu. Chefs picks rather than you pick yourself

its not a chefs table thing where you sit there and watch them cook it / get a walk through

it’s just a menu choice, or you can pick your own selection ala carte instead

  12. Yeah was a bit frustrating.

I am a bit fussier than my wife so whereas she was happy to go chefs table without knowledge , I was hoping to get a clearer steer on which of the (many different) main menu dishes were included , before committing to the £80pp price.

plus there was plenty of dishes on main menu we could have pieced together ourselves ala carte for a similar value if it might have been more to our / my preference

I reckon we were just a bit unlucky with the service on the night maybe , and sure it will come good.

Of the few times we had been to pacos and the old Casa Mia the service and attentiveness has always been brilliant. Even if you were paying a bit of a premium and it might need to be saved for special occasions , at least it did feel pretty special.

im sure it will come good , and it definitely doesn’t look as pricy now as the menus they were doing prior to closing Casa Mia at the general . The menu setup is a bit closer to pacos in style which I liked , just a bit annoyed with the lack of transaparency regarding chefs menu options

Plus don’t get me started on the £13 beer again ha, that one did seem pretty unforgivable

Went here the other day and was pretty disappointed.

a series of small gripes rather than one shocker.

granted we went in with high expectations , off the back of previous excellent experiences at pacos / Casa Mia (westbury - years back), and other bits the chef has been involved in.

service wasn’t brilliant (sometimes left waiting for orders for a while), had chefs menu in end but they wouldn’t tell us what was on it before ordering which was a bit annoying (pretty sure they knew and could have told us).
Most of courses were nice but  we didn’t love many of  them.

was a nice meal but we didn’t feel it justified the high cost.

also I asked for a beer on arrival before switching on to the wine. There was none on menu but they said they had a couple of choices off menu. Ordered one of them which was a Peroni variant of some kind. When the bill came … £13!!!  (For a 500ml bottle circa 5-6% alc).

some of the wine was quite reasonably priced, but I feel nobody should ever be served a £13 beer without being warned of its cost ha

  14. I was in the new tap room place out the back of Bristol beer factory the other day ahead of the last home game. It was a nice setup, but there was no sound on the early BT sport kick off (Chelsea vs someone ), they were playing some music instead. Not sure of they will give you the audio for the rugby that’s all. If they will then it’s a great shout

  15. Went to the reopened pony and trap in chew magna the other night for a steak night. They seem to be doing it like a banqueting service at present rather than book your own table time

Food was nice but not spectacular.

infuriatingly the knives were so blunt we couldn’t cut through the steaks (which were far from tough). Mentioned it to staff and apparently some new knives are on the way.

Sure it will be back up to previous form in no time though, but perhaps a touch underwhelmed
