  1. Always looks out for this thread for some good tips

    my faves this year …

Avalanches - we will always love you. Technically came out Dec last year but as so late I’m sticking it down here. Comfortably my fav album I have been listening to this year. Great variety of tunes, spot on guest vocal features, really consistent throughout.

fleet foxes - shore . A real return to form IMO. For people who enjoyed early stuff

litl simz - not necessarily type of stuff I listen to a lot but every track I heard on radio was great and the whole album really delivered

Weather station and shame albums good throughout

    squid - bright green fields

    idles - crawler

dry cleaning - new long leg

    mogwai - as love continues

these ones not quite as consistent throughout but the highlight tracks are awesome

  3. Some great older sets added to the iplayer this year. Fair play I thought they would have just used the same material as last year.

arcade fire 2007, queens of the Stone Age 2011 were two memorable ones I was at

iggy pop 2007 is there too which I missed And regretted

Idles 2019 is a must for anyone who likes Idles

  4. We got locked out for about an hour and a half before we could get in.

once we did managed to rewind and watch from start though. Quality of it was brilliant , shame all the tech problems ruined it for some tho.

apparently they are going to let bbc show most of it (or even more of it ) on Glasto weekend. So if anyone missed it they might be able to watch it then

Ah mate! I saw the holy trinity of Idles, Sleaford Mods and [Liam] Fontaines DC that year. Loved it. Was a great Glastonbury all round though mind.

Idles set was awesome this year, really felt like it meant a lot to them to be playing there. Saw them again at downs festival, still very good but didn’t have the same magic / live up to the Glasto one

Bicep, Late Night Final and Working Men's Club are my new discoveries this week (but then again I like a bit of dance music)

I like this working men’s club album.

a mate from work has a ticket to a show in Manc with them supporting new order and hot chip. Sounds like a well put together lineup

think it’s late summer so he is hoping it will be on

  7. Heard 4 good tunes from a band called Squid on radio 6 which are enough for me to book a ticket to see then in March 2021 in marble factory.
Check out The tracks Houseplants, the cleaner, match bet and sludge If interested.
font think they have a full album out yet but guessing there is one due out shortly. Sound like could be pretty raucous live

they are also on Bill for Bristol music festival ritual Union a couple of dayS earlier If anyone is going to that

Three for me at the moment, I love:

    Baxter Dury -The Night Chancers

    Caribou - Suddenly

    Soccer Mommy - Color Theory

The Baxter Dury (son of Ian) record is absolute class imo

    Any other recommendations?

I’ve listened to the Caribou album and liked it but wasn’t blown away. Had a ticket to the watch him/then at the Academy but it got canned understandably. Swim is one of my favourite albums, and the last one was great also.

Have heard the odd track from the other two on radio 6 but haven’t delved deeper. Will get them both downloaded.

i haven’t listened to many new albums recently as I was swatting up on the Glastonbury lineup instead, plus Belle & Sebastian back catalogue as was going to see them too. Cancellations all round unfortunately

I'm sure in my youth, the term for multiple keepers was a 'rush goalie'.

Yep my school used to say ‘rush’ goalies, or ‘all hands in’ was the other one I think

basically if the keeper went on a run someone else could drop in and cover for them
