Blackburn Rovers away match thread
Lordofthebling replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Cut out the mistakes, keep the confidence high, we have a really good group here. Love the pace and power we have. Up to 3rd if it stays how is. Vyner has come along way. -
My choice cm would be Williams and and an on song Massengo, but Scott is there or there abouts. James is back up, it's all too slow and backwards... King, as much as he is one of us, I do feel he is back up to the backups. It's a great problem to have, just wish Han would sign on the dotted line.
-
I thought Scott was pretty poor yesterday defensively and his distribution from the back. Seemed very casual. Better in the final third though.

Ifs buts and maybes, but if we had Baker and Kalas available...

All I can think of is McCombe... ?
-
He's finally that busy, pressing striker that we've missed since Reid was sold.

Exactly what I was thinking... thats frightening.

I admittedly wanted Scott alongside Massengo after Luton, but my my did Joe put in a shift. Went missing for the first 15 20 of the second half (or was it frst?) then he put in a tackle from behind, scooping the leg round, that literally had me celebrating it more than a goal. From then on him and Massengo were everywhere. Great performance Joe ?

That bit was a bit weird, wonder what he was talking about??? O Dowda???? Conway embodies everything about intensity, he stamped that right from the get go and inspired everyone

Scott v O Dowda concerns me... Why do we always do square pegs in round holes? Scott massively impressed against Luton, I thought we were finally over this #### from last year after we signed wilson. -
Nige got ripped apart by Danny Murphy and Simon Jordan this morning. Didn't really pick up on the moaning of refs, moreso the fact he said he'd walk away from the club - what message does that give fans, players and the club? Jordan was quick to recall the Sears ghost goal and said it 'happens to us all'. Just as a few messages came in saying its been every game this season, not just one, they switched subject.

Well done boys. That was much much better. Pace, pressing , togetherness, fight, and forward thinking. Was critical of the midfield duo as a starter, but Scott and Massengo were incredible. Massengo, why can't you play like that all the time? My motm. No doubt inspired by Naismith and Bents. Would I play those two against Cardiff though?? Not sure!! Dasilva and Sykes played with a new found confidence, its a shame we won't have sykes now for a few games, so let's see what Wilson can do. A special mention has to go to Vyner who gets his fair share of criticism, but he was immense tonight. Conway and Wells, everywhere, wow what an option to have! It was great to see them pressing and pacey closing down. The whole team got the crowd going, love to see it. Fight for that shirt. And a clean sheet! Well done boys, the season has officially started...! Bring on the scum. -

He went in annoyed by freeman's first challenge. Shame he lost his head, as itvwas between him and Massengo for MOTM. -

It is just worrying where we are at as a football club right now. Really concerning. I could sit here and say we shouldve had a pen, and they shouldve been down to 10 men, but we have to manage our game yes it was hot, but Wigan managed to keep the press going and win those second balls, we wilted literally after the first drinks break. What really worries me is that this us traditionally when we get our points on the board. Too much dead wood still in that squad that have not been good enough for years. Ah well a point on the board, 39 to go...
