Millwall at home match day thread
Lordofthebling replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Ryley was looking good, but those two goals are literally park football standard. I just had to double check the bench. Millwall at home and we are chucking Towler in? We got Atkinson on the bench?? -

Said it once, I'll say it again. Joe Williams is quality. -
I literally have no idea who he is!!

Its literally the easiest way to counter a system with wing backs. Don't get it, we obviously don't trust Atkinson and Kalas so need to play 3 at the back, or we simply don't believe in the likes of o dowda and semenyo. We certainly miss an Elliason type option.

Didn't pring lose his man for their 2nd?

Literally the only good football thing to happen this weekend ?

I miss Adam Baker. I do miss the quiz challenges too.

Thats a genuinely good point. Have we ever done that? I know its a million miles away but I know England did it after the 2010 World Cup, got clear organisational philosophies in place. Brentford gave done it too.

I can name them. Wanting the ball, I can name: Atkinson, Dasilva, Weiman, Bakinson, HNM, O Dowda, Martin... The only player I feel won't lose it, won't give me heart palpitations every ###### time or lump it: James and Williams With that being the case, no wonder the players don't trust each other to actually get up the pitch.

Nobody wants the ball, we rush playing it forward, hot potato, noone can beat a man its sideways..... lump it up to Chris martin, hope....... then defend.

The Pearson project just seems too far gone now. Physios to coaches, we are pot committed. The worrying thing for me was the holden team just needed organisation and discipline. We seem over reliant on younger players who through no fault of their own, lack the mental toughness, the resilience and guile to see out 90 minutes of championship men's football. We are toothless up front, too soft in midfield, disorganised in defence. To me that was obvious from the start, maybe Pearson knew that too, as he seems genuinely agitated and almost finding this job funny. I'm tired of the same 'im cross smile, i have my opinions on this squad, loooooook, adjusts glasses, empty threats and promises' for every abject performance. Maybe the fault lies at SLs door, but its making the ashton and lj days look like heaven right now.

I do feel that in 3 or 4 seasons, the likes of Scott, pring, benarous will all be quality top half championship players challenging for promotion, my worry is that it won't be with us because we are in league 1. Its becoming crunch time for lansdown. He needs to get his chequebook out to save this club from relegation. Either a loan or purchase, we need a striker. We need wingers. Arguably we need no nonsense centre backs. Its down to lansdown to think if that's with Pearson or not. It seems now we are too far gone with the Pearson project to change, backroom staff etc, so we may need a miracle Mr Lansdown.

Lost the second half 3-1 against a Coventry team of 10 men. Shocking. -

Its piss poor tactics, this needs 3 in midfield, we are just over run. -

5 at the back and defending like that? Not good enough. -

Am I the only one who finds Atkinson a liability? This game is crying out for vyner to be moved in to midfield
