Exactly. The redevelopment has killed the atmosphere for this reason. I appreciate finally encouraging vocal fans via the S22 and finally acknowledging them, but their placement is terrible for atmosphere.

Too late now - but they should've given the Atyeo to home fans and put the away fans in the closest blocks of Dolman or Lansdown. That's the best solution for atmosphere IMO.

It's really this simple. The Atyeo has the best acoustics,  and it's full of away fans. They should not be behind either goal. Stick em at the back of beyond somewhere. Don't say it's not possible, of course it's possible. Just do it.

  2. When is a decision due on this matter, or are the EFL dragging their heels to avoid confrontation?  Absolute disgrace. Teams have to prepare and budget for next season. This should be announced as soon as the play off places are confirmed, i.e, by next week. But my guess is they will bottle it.

  3. Seems pretty clear to me that if we sold him for 3 mil and want to replace him with a 3 mil player, we could buy him back!!!  What I mean is would we get better for the same money?

At least Trophy had a nice jaunty, singalong advert.

Yeah, they were dark days indeed. I remember when Courage brought out Directors it was a breath of fresh air in their pubs, which seemed to be 3/4 of all houses in Somerset.

My preferred drinking establishments - Tor Leisure Club and Mr B's in Glastonbury - only had Toby Bitter, which was basically brown water.  This is why as a young man I used to drink only lager.

In 1982, I moved to Kent and discovered the joys of Shepherds Neame and Fremlins.  Never went back to the fizzy stuff.

If you were in Kent in the eighties RR you may have come across Cobbs bitter. (It may have been earlier).  Truly awful stuff but when you are young in Margate, well, anything goes.

Having sport on tv is one of the few things that has given me hope during the lockdown.  Everything should be done to allow elite football to carry on, but I don’t see any players spitting or clearing their noses because they are prima donnas.  It’s what sportsmen do, and it must be very difficult to stop doing it while you’re in the middle of a game, whatever the rules.  A strict testing regime has to be the answer.  However the field of play surely has to be regarded differently from what goes on in wider society. Are you suggesting that players should never go within two metres of each other? That would be interesting...

Your post raises another interesting point. You say what happens on the pitch has to be regarded differently to the wider society. Why is that so? It raises the issue of what happens on the pitch sometimes would be regarded as common assault on the street. Footballers are not above the law nor should they be beyond the Covid guidelines.

Brighton cope as the station surroundings were redesigned for Falmer.
Manchester is expanding the trams with a new line which is next to Old Trafford and that has a queuing system etc.
You just need to design it right and people can utilise it...

Correct, that is called forward thinking and planning.  But then, this is Bristol......
