  1. Travelled miles away to watch footie, today.

As the City match was (pathetically) cancelled, but I had pre-booked rail tickets, I went to the Emirates to see the Gooners against Badiff. Match not too special, until the end, but:

    The stadium was fantastic

    Transport there so easy

Good food and drink at reasonable prices

Fans of all ages, races, genders enjoying a match in an environment with little swearing or abuse

Club shop selling a wide range of quality merchandise

Clear announcements and visible video footage of teams, highlights, club legends

Stewards who were helpful and friendly

I could go on and on....

    We're just miles away!

For a moment I though you were describing your afternoon trip to VUe at Longwell Green.

I like swearing, abuse and edginess at football. Dont really give a shit about the things you mentioned.

  2. You talk of dignity and yet you personally seem bereft of that one thing.

I thought that too in retrospect.

But when you're passionate about something, sometimes things dont come across asyou wish.

Maybe thats Holloways excuse as to why he says what he does about us.

  3. You brought into question my support for this club, I hate that when others do that to other supporters too, a cheap shot. You seem to be obsessed with everything that is not to do with football NOW, but just petty childish dislike for someone because of what happened many years ago.

If Holloway is not appointed then it should be for the right reasons, however I will say that his appointment if it did happen would be   a brave move by the Board, but I can't really see it happening..

You rhetoric is full of hate, I really despair that in this day and age it is still  kicking around like a throw back from the past when football rivalry was just an excuse for a punch up, just why Bristol should be affected with this is a mystery, perhaps though when you look at where both teams are currently there is a clue!! We need to move on educate yourself, think before you open your gob, sure there will be those that will support you on here, there always will, but we need to get real, Oh! and BTW it's 2013

Never questioned your support as I too dont like it. If support is deemed by how many games you attend then for one reason or another I am way down the list.

I questioned what is to support and what fans actually believe in. Blindy following is not imo great support.

As for hate, well I'm afraid its too late for me. Football is the only irrational part of my life and im afraid I am a product of the time then. Maybe it will all be different in the future, maybe not.

All I know is love and hate are born of the same passion. You cannot ask me to care for sometjing as I much as I do the super redsand then turn off how I feel about other things.

On this point of Holloway, we will gave to agree to disagree.

I will respect your podition, but like it or not I feel passionate about this subject.

  4. Dont you see that blindly following a club, claiming its support, is being a plastic fan?

When were called Rovers of Bristol FC, play in blue and white and the letter co.es through your door asking you to bend over for the owner at the next home game, are you still going to trot out a line about 55 years of support and this makes you a true fan? Because everyone else will just think you idiot. Have some principles and dignity.

There has to be a line.

A change of name, a change to blue, Holloway. These are some lines we should never cross if we are to keep a shred of pride and dignity.

  5. Fool, I have been supporting City since well let's say over 55 years, seen many managers come and go, good times bad times, I am a true City diehard, you will just be a fickle fan who bottles it,  and you say I am a 'dustant' ? Utd fan?

What it means to be a fan?

    You wouldn't know, obviously...

Oh but I do understand what it means to support your club and everything you believe it to stand for, its history and heritage.

Which is why john ward will always receive a clap from me and I enjoyed his tenure, Holloway is a nasty piece of gas scum who would se the club you love go down the pan with a smile on his face and a beer in his hand.

If you dont know or cant see that I would genuinely question what you have been doing in your 55 year reign.

I cant believe how quickly people sell out and for go any kind of principles. The bloke openly doesnt like you or your club and if he wasnt a professional footballer would've been escorted past the miners to n sep 4th calling you a ******.

  6. No matter who was employed as our Manager I would just have to accept it, I could not just sat 'that's it I'm off, as much as I may want to it wouldn't work, as it wouldn't I suppose all that say that's it, no more City, I mean how can you turn your back on real family?

Loyalty is what makes us City fans, we are not plastic supporters , not the supporters of a team that won the Premier League last May, and switching to the team that look like winning it this May...We are in for the long ride wherever we are taken and whoever is in charge at the time.

So enough of this BS about not going, won't listen on the radio etc etc, 'cus you know you will that's why you are a  City fan and not Man U, Chelsea or whoever next . :city:

Are sheep loyal to the shepherd?

Show some real passion and ask yourself what does it mean to be a fan.

If anything the blind following and lack of understanding dies make you sound like a dustant utd fan.

  7. If Holloway was appointed, I would wish the club every success, but would not pay to watch them during his tenure. If city went on to conquer Europe, it would makeme immensely proud but I detest the bloke, his history and what he stands.

Growing up following city nIn the 80s the rivalry meant to much to me and maybe that his lost on some of our younger or more vanilla fans. Its a principle I will stick too and I would be letting myself down if I attended a game with him in charge.I choose to draw the line there and would be a coward to cross.

I vehemently despise Bristol Rovers and despise Ian Holloway.
