Did anyone expect us to win?

As for the other lot, **** em? Wael has said how important a stadium is regardless of today's result. They've been backed by billions and achieved **** all except for bouncing between League 1 and the Championship, and are just making the most of the little time that they have left above us. They've mocked DC and he's turned out to be excellent and a breath of fresh air, they've mocked the way we've been ran, and now we're being ran well, they've mocked the way we have no money, and now we do.

They're scared and they don't want to admit it.
  2. do you? It comes as no surprise to me. It was going to g one of two ways. Our inexperienced players at this level were going to make the grade or they were not. What was needed was a bit of experience to guide them at this level. Someone to guide impechivous youngsters. Unfortunately all we have is Wibraham. With a couple of players with a little bit of experience.

We have ballsed up once again after promotion. No One seems to learn at this club. It's been done to death so I'll leave it at that.

Interesting we keep the same formation but change the style of play that was effective. Barmy if you ask me. Far more on the front foot this season rather than countering... Which is what we are getting done by week in week out

Completely agree and have been saying this since April. I am truly amazed that more on this forum didn't see this coming.

On the brightside we yet again seem to have had loads of possession. Bloke behind me just commented that he'd rather play like we have and loose than just get completely battered.

The depressing irony of his comment seems lost on him.

Fir the firsr time ever im looking at uncle Steve and blaming him. The club is ******* clueless. Its bern apparent for months.

  3. Dear all those people who said,

    "So predictable"

    "Out of our depth"

    "Teams not good enough"

+ all those who left early (shame!!!)

I hope the last ten minutes taught you something there. We've had a steady start, but yes the championship is hard. We've got the best side I've seen city play with. We were absolutely phenomenal last year. I'm still totally confident we'll hit top half this year, and even better next season. If you're going to be a supporter, support! It's not like you chose Bristol for the glory....

The fans are def my least favourite thing about this club, so much whining!

    COYR!

    I think i feel sick.

  4. Agreed, the plot losers will be about later!!

You know i agree with a lot of what you say Bill, i just dont think people are able to sensible coversations about where we are.

3 5 2 is fine, but we do not have 11 players good enough to play it and compete at this level.

SC is the manager and now has to demonstrate is acumen in turning this around with the resources at hand.

  5. What has happened to make our previously solid defense so leaky all of a sudden?

The defence wasnt that solid, the quality of opposition was poor and after a while our reputation preceeded us and our attacking style became a self fulfilling prophecy.

Out of 11 we probably had 5 or 6 who could actually step up and compete at this level. That was it.

Its been obvious for months and months and months.

Sorry people, ive wanted to scream for months.

  6. That was tough to take, going in at one down, but please don't over-react if we lose again.

We are in a bl**dy difficult division, yes we walked League One last season but did the people on here who predicted we'd go straight up again truly believe that?!

Working in football brings unbelievable pressure and I'm glad that the views of everyone on here represent a tiny minority of our fanbase. If all our fans had the same views as some on here then our management team would simply break under the expectation levels.

When I'm talking with the chaps and chapesses in the pub a great sense of realism is evident, and I still think, as I've said all along, that we'll finish 17th, and that would be brill!

We'll win a few, we'll lose a few, we'll draw a few - last season was amazing, one of the best in our history.

Enjoy the memories when you can but realise the next nine months will be tough....

What does over react mean? What i am actually allowed to say?

  7. Really? If City would have been so humiliated I would have been celebrating just as much as the Rovers fans did, if you don't celebrate winning promotion (whatever the level) there is something wrong with you. I hate the Rovers as much as the next man but they are just football fans supporting their team, same as us

I agree it's a personal thing. I just don't think it's that much of an achievement.

Winning the JPT was a good day out which my son will remember for ever. Did i celebrate the victory like we'd won the FA Cup etc. no. Just like i wouldn't celebrate winning the conference play offs 'like we'd won the premier league'.

  8. On the contrary, I think this thread has 'bitter and twisted' written all over it.  I hoped that Grimsby would win yesterday, but they didn't and I'm over that already. It doesn't matter what division you are in, or how you achieve it, promotion is promotion and if I were a Gas fan I'd be celebrating as if I'd won the Premier League.  Good luck to them, it's what football is all about.  It doesn't matter what division you are in, or what your history is, success is to be enjoyed.

Time to move on, I think.

    Really?

If that was us and we managed to get back into the league, i would just be satisfied that we were trying to rebuild. I've said before that Rovers are a div2/3 club and that's where i expect them to be. Dropping out of the league was an unthinkable, humiliating low.

Celebrating 'like we won the premier league' after winning the conference play off final on penalties, i would not be doing. To me it lacks dignity and looks tin pot.

Just like being proud of setting attendance records in the conference???!!

If it makes you happier City could drop down to the screwfix and set every record imaginable, but that's just pathetic.
