Which wouldn’t necessarily have been the correct decision. In fact, had he been sacked the season before last and the new man had come in and guided us to the league cup semis and an 11th place finish,  everyone who have said it was the right decision to get rid of him. The club’s faith has been rewarded with three seasons of league position improvement under Johnson. An inconvenient truth for some.

Not to say he’d survive another bad run if this continues - I think he’d be gone, and I would be fine with that. The feast and famine can’t continue forever.

Guided us to an 11th place finish?

Like the guy who guided his plane onto the Hudson?

True but why is what they are upto is of major importance is beyond me,I’m guessing here I admit because I don’t read them but I wouldn’t of thought Man City would have a 2000 page on Man U or visa versa or Swindon and Oxford

Depends if you collated all posts which mentioned them I supposed

Not really. In all the years 50+ that I’ve been attending AG, I’ve never had a real dislike let alone hatred for the gas. They’re football fans, just as we are but like every club they have a bunch of neantherdals who say and act in dumb and idiotic fashion.

Some of our fans are exactly the same.

All the furore about burning down stadiums, Holloway chuntering about his dislike for City........all contributes more angst  to certain elements of both sets of fans. To me it’s all a bit Stone Age and I like to think that I’m above all that shit.

I know several gas heads and we often exchange harmless banter about our respective clubs. I’m always able to take the high morale ground.............

    I dislike Swindon way more.

    The irony of this post.

And the most popular thread is the gas one,I guess it’s young uns post on it because as someone said above Cardiff are the rivals when it comes down to the nitty gritty

That’s a technicality I’m afraid. Anything Rovers related is lumped under one post. It’s helps reduce ‘focus’

    Rather focus on us

We do, hence why there is a whole forum and sub forum focused on ‘us’.

    Sticks has made one post.

im ******* delighted the ***** lost at home 2-1. You can post this every Saturday if you like @sticks 1969

Our poor form has been hugely overstated. “Horrible” runs are losing every week - like 8 defeats in a row last season.

Our current horrible run has seen us lose 3 in 12, and unbeaten in 5 at home.

A decline compared to pre-Christmas without a doubt, but not “horrible”. Away form is certainly a concern.

This is a good post. At present we are above average.

Your view on this season depends on the starting point. If I'm to be fair to Lee Johnson then I wanted improvement  from last season and that' what we've got.

I understand the disappointment in the club yet again failing at Christmas and the lack of any reason as to why we no longer play the football we did, but if we finish 10th or higher than that is a marked improvement.

They should rename this forum Knee jerk incrporated, trawling through and reading some of the comments posted of abuse and despair is hilarious.....LJ Out, tactically inept, doesn't know wtf he's doing...............and then elation and play offs here we come.  The championship is the most unpredictable league, probably in Europe, Barnsley are fighting for their lives, so they are not gonna just roll over.  LJ has plenty of faults, but he is one of the youngest managers in the top 2 divisions, has taken a team that seemed certain to be relegated last season to 1 point from the play offs. I personally think he's doing a great job.  No I am NOT a happy clapper, and I am prone to moments of over reaction and stupid comments..........but maybe a few people should read back through some of the absurdly embarassing posts made during this game.  Sorry I will get off of my soapbox and look forward to beating Brentford on Monday, that's the beauty of the championship, no 2 games/performances are ever the same.

Unless you finish top 4 or bottom 4 which would mean lots of games were the same; won or lost.

Why do people think we just have to turn up to beat teams? Barnsley are desperate for points never going to be an easy game.

Because they are 21st and relegation threatened.

Ergo they lose a lot of points and put simply teams who are better than them should beat them.

i'm confused by your statement. Based on the evidence of 30 plus games Barnsley are not a good team compared to their peers in this division.  If we drop points against them its because we are not better than them, not because Barnsley are better.

I can’t see us finishing higher next season than this.

Flint, Bryan & possibly Reid will all go.

Absolutely fuming. We’ve completely ****** this. Again. We can say “it’s not what we do” but basically all that means is “we don’t get promoted to the premier league”.

Teams that spend big when their stock is high, and strengthen when they’re on top, go up. End of story.

2 of the 3 players we brought in in January werent trusted to play today. 1 of them has been ripped apart 2 games in a row for being too selfish. 1 of them has been an unused sub 2 games in a row.

A strong bench and we see that game out comfortably. But we are STILL resorted to bringing on Woodrow as a sub. We knew he wasn’t good enough in October.

    We will never learn

    It's not whether we've learnt.

If this doesn't work for Lansdown, maybe he'll try a different method?

Unfortunately our January window has once again ****** us. Could’ve really gone for it and pushed to go up automatically. Yet here we are still bringing on Woodrow from the bench & two of our January signings can’t even get on the pitch.

    It's not what we do.

I think the club's plans are clear and we have to go along with them.

As long as we improve next year then I think Lansdown has been proven right.

    Belter comments this evening

    Bad result mate. Lacked professionalism.

Regardless of whether we pissed around too much up front, a competent top 6 team should not ship 3 in that manner and should comfortably take all 3 points.

It's not necessarily indicative of the season but it is still a bad result in its own right.

Its a good result when you take a good, hard look at what a patched up side we out there today. We got lots of players playing out of position and dare I say it a couple who are drastically out of form, or not match fit. We have Baker and Pisano to comeback and Lois to get to grips with the English game and show us why he has demanded such a large fee in France. Id say that we may have the best of City still to come this season, and at such a pivotal time, lets get into the play off's and the premiership, YOU REDS!!!!!!

I'm sorry mate. But that was a shit result.
