  1. Very good point here, results aside the last few games have been incredibly dull to watch.

The modern trends of possession at all costs is typified by the amount of times a full back gets near a crossing situation then checks inside and passes back and within 3 passes you are back at the keeper recycling back out to the other side.

That’s why it’s refreshing to see a side like Luton achieve what they did by playing a completely different style to what’s ‘trendy’

    He’s been dreadful.

Some on here love to moan about Weimann, who has offered one excellent bit of defending to block their only shot, & a couple of smart passes, but Mehmeti has provided nothing.

Their right back Kakay is really poor but has had the better of him.

    Has to do much better.

Agreed. It’s almost as if Nige knew his stuff and was correctly not picking him….

  3. Think it’s safe to say I don’t think they realised just how big an own goal this has been, a national laughing stock.

That said given they have not quashed any lampard rumours which are now circulating in the mainstream we’re going to look a bit stupid now if we don’t appoint him

SOTC was hardly gonna be the most daunting of interrogations with Ed "we can't criticise the Lansdowns" Hadwin at the helm.

And yet they still bottled it.

Get out of our club ffs.

Thing is this also shows a complete and utter lack of any leadership qualities in the ‘board’.

They should be embarrassed at their inability to front up but I think they are completely shameless.

If you are a significant decision maker in a firm you have to have the stones to be accountable and relay the rationale as to why and what the vision is…..

Absolutely livid with how this has played out

If we have to sell a 25 million pound player just to have the squad we’ve got now, what on earth do we do next summer?

Further to this what’s the point in getting excited in any breakthroughs this season as we will are clearly just being run to create and sell with no consideration at all to sporting achievement for the here and now.

  6. This is certainly starting to feel like the summer of cotts 2015 all over again.

Not that I agree at all but if lansdown is thinking of sacking him and installing another young yes man just bloody get on with it as if they are thinking of a change then whoever that would be needs funds to strengthen.

Nige has done his bit cutting the cost base down, developing players and generating significant income and deserves some proper backing not random punts for a few hundred k.

You’re right, but we’ve been in this division 8 seasons. This is Luton’s (shit ground, shit fans, shit budget)‘s second season at this level

Indeed we have but with most of those seasons using an utterly non coherent strategy which left us in this absolute mess.

luton have consistently recruited for a style that fits their budget and maximise it

whereas we decided to play football manager for real taking 2 million punts on the likes of gustav engvall….
