    It’s either…

    - JL is making decisions & conversations above Tinns role without consulting him, almost rendering him redundant

    - JL & Tinns had the conversation, and were in agreement, and Tinns never brought it up to Pearson

    - JL just made it up as a throw away comment/perception off the cuff in the interview

Not such which would be the worst tbh!

When all the truth comes out about Nigel Pearson's departure, the final story might not be quite the Disney film that some people are expecting, full of heroes and villains. Maybe, just maybe, Jon Lansdown is not a bumbling buffoon, perhaps Brian Tinnion is not actually an evil schemer and, possibly, Nigel isn't the ideal employee everyone would want to have working for them.

A mate who goes to the rugby seems to think it’s more to do with trying to sale more premium seats to adults.

     it's cost cutting.

For less popular games neither upper Lansdown nor Atyeo will be open so less stewards/ people in concessions needed.

The upper Lansdown will be expensive when open with Atyeo the cheaper option.

  4. JPL is in between club Academies and grassroots like Ashton, Whitchurch Sports etc.

My son was involved in BICADC which is probably now called something else.  It was before they joined the league but he got to travel to exotic locations like Ludlow, Walsall and Barnwood to play equivalents sides, some of who were linked to league sides.

Coaching was decent.  There were a lot of deluded parents though.  Occasionally some kids would be picked up by an Academy but in the most part the kids were good but not quite outstanding.

I think the issue is, the fans sing the song too fast. Hence why it flatters out pretty quickly. The YNWA, Delilah’s etc are all belted out slowly and it comes across so much better.

Even the blue few belt that ‘song’ out at the right tempo.

Remember our attempt at the Viking clap thing when Magnússon was here?

Possibly the most embarrassing thing we've ever done. Supposed to be very very slow and loud, building up to a crescendo. In reality it  Sounded like the applause for a warm up act at Jesters

I’m sure I’ve seen something before that, somewhat counter intuitively, clubs prefer to play teams that are a fair way away in midweek, in part because they know that the away following may not have been great because of the distance in any case. Take this season - Ipswich and Blackburn were both home and away in midweek.

But we also had Southampton and Plymouth midweek?

    I get that and it is for many other fans too. I just like Sat 3pm and a full mid-week fixture list occasionally; Tues/Wed;

    TV certainly calling the shots

24 teams is 2 too many.  There's too many evening games clashing with Champions league.

I bet the POTD IS pitiful for most of these.  Why fork out £35 to watch Preston at home on a Wednesday when it's on Sky anyway or alternatively you can watch Liverpool v AC Milan or something similar.

Bet the club lose money for these games, especially if there's a small away following.

I find the fact that's a penalty ridiculous.

    But that's modern football.

It either takes your breath away, puts you to sleep, or makes you go really?

Spot on.  She applied the rule using the current interpretation. If you disagree your issue is with the guidance/interpretation referees are being given not with the individual ref.

If someone is banging on about female refs then that's entirely a reflection of their stupidity.

I don't think these final four games mean anything at all. Someone the other told me that every game matters...which really isn't true. These last four don't matter to us, not beyond the final whistle anyway.

I agree that squad churn will be a factor of course.

I think also - your form before the "strong finish" should factor in as well. There's a big difference between a team that has been strong all season "finishing strong", and a team that was recently in relegation form doing so.

I just think it's a meaningless phrase trotted out because it sounds like the right thing to say.

And will encourage people to renew their Season tickets

Very early 60's, no floodlights (in the corners ).

Flats were completed in 1960.  Looks like Southbow was just being finished in the picture.

I think the flats went up in 62/63 and the floodlights were up in 65

Flats were 1960 I think. There's a plaque in the foyer of at least one of them

    He’s very good, isn’t he?

Top drawer again today, 3 clean sheets on the spin.

    Well done to him.

But, but, but. He's not a top 6 championship keeper or whatever bullshit category people wish to invent.

If I had enough cash to buy a football club and the Owner tells me I also have to purchase a Rugby Club and a Basketball Club that loses "a bit of money but not too much" I wouldn't be interested in buying it. It might only be double or even one and a half times the work/investment rather than triple but if I'm not interested in Rugby and Basketball then I'm not buying it unless it's a "no brainer" investment opportunity (and as Rugby Union is a mess right now with no signs of recovery on the horizon I'm out!!). @Ian M made a great point that there isn't a queue around the block of Billionaires looking to buy a Football Club let alone a Bristol Sport Football/ Rugby/Basketball Empire.

That said, there must be an exit strategy for Steve in any event, surely? I presume, just looking at West Brom going for £80m, his absolute worst case is that he splits Bristol Sport up for quick sale (£100m tops maybe?) and loses a shed load of money on his overall investment albeit that loss would be circa £5-£6m per year for a billionaire? You no doubt know a lot more on that score than I do.

Don't you think Steve Lansdown hasn't been drawing profit/income from other parts of the whole Bristol Sport arrangement?

Sinckler doesn't seem to be the guy he was right now. Hopefully he'll rediscover some form in France. Good for Bristol to get a high earner off the books. Frees up space elsewhere.

He's been really good and we always look much weaker without him in the team.
