  1. This suggests six players were on 11 year contracts - http://soccersouls.com/2013/12/04/bristol-city-and-ashton-gate-eight/ Dunno if we'll ever know all the details of what went on back then...
  2. Well the Neil Simpson 'tackle' on Ian Durrant (which put the Rangers player out of the game for three years) really cemented the hatred, and the sick Aberdeen chants about that tackle in subsequent years just added fuel to an already raging fire...but there was so much more.... have a peek here: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/archives/football/168306/aberdeen-v-rangers-a-history-of-hate/
  3. Rangers and Aberdeen - now that's two teams whose fans REALLY despise each other...always a cracking atmosphere at those games!
  4. The company that owned Rangers went into liquidation, not the football club....lots of people got confused by that...they still are the most successful club in world football having won their domestic league 54 times...
  5. "Bristol City, we're coming for you..." I just can't laugh anymore....they are pathetic....
  6. 1-3 to the real Dons! I've cracked open a fresh Chilean Merlot and will quaff while pogoing to the tune that never gets old, thanks to dopey....
  7. ....we'd lost 8 and drawn 1 of the previous 9 games before we struggled to beat rock bottom Rotherham at home...do you think that record allows him smug looks at the crowd and obvious goading and gloating?! After the run of form we were on, the crowd's obvious frustration was totally understandable. And the subs 'linked up' for the winning goal? A shot from one was blocked/saved by the keeper and the other got the rebound. Is that 'linking up'?! I suppose it could be argued that it is, but 'linked up' suggests a move that was a bit more skilful and pre-meditated than a blocked shot which fell to one of our guys. Anyway, that's history, last season was awful....let's carry on enjoying this one!
  8. No, against Rotherham at home he kept turning around to goad the home fans around the bench, yes he was getting stick, but nothimg too heavy and it's part and parcel of his job. Did he stay professional? No, especially when we scored a late winner against the division's whipping boys when he turned round and gave the City fans loads....it was pathetic....
  9. Just watched the 7 seconds of highlights from their epic battle with The Iron today....good grief, that away end, how empty????!!! How dare they EVER ridicule our away followings EVER again, truly pathetic from them today, but, as always, fair play to the few souls who travelled such a long way to watch their tinpot heroes, you can never knock the ones who actually went. So, onto the late, late, late, late Scunny winner.....
  10. "....to the side is a very tall but short stand..." - how can that even make sense?!
  11. Thank you for this mate! It's like a Tim Vine routine, big laffs every second! Some of those posts are GOLD! One of them probably rings true for them right now, but not in the way the poster meant it back then....."I genuinely think I'm going to cry..." - Comedy GOLD!!!
  12. But they also said they were "bigger than Norwich City.." recently....I really am exhausted from all the laffing at their ridiculous claims....
  13. Yep, I know a few of your level headed fans, realistic guys n gals who know where you are....must be embarrassing though to see You Tube vids from your fans like that guy and his drunk dad on the day Wael took over, they were crowing that you were now one of the richest clubs in England, you were gonna take over City and use Ashton Gate as a ground for your youth team, you were gonna overtake us within two years etc etc etc. Your stadium, squad and fan base are nowhere near 'Championship ready' despite your club boasting about a new canopy over the hospitality entrance, new carpets, blinds, sprinklers etc etc....surely you can see why stuff like that makes us grin when we are sitting in a mostly new £45m stadium....and your new wheelchair viewing area is just astonishingly horrendous. I'm not having a go for the sake of it...my dear old Dad and Grandad were dyed in the wool gasheads...loyal and committed, yet I still think they would be cringing at what is happening now and still more about the ridiculous claims of some of your fans....but I'm probably preaching to the converted because you seem like a more level-headed gashead...
  14. And their gobby irritants seem to have piped down about being either 'the 6th richest club in England' or 'the second richest club after Man City...' Meanwhile, we have kept our heads down, built a Prem-ready stadium and have slowly built a squad that can at least compete in the second tier....stuff they can only dream of....yet they boast of being 'Championship ready' when their stadium, squad and fan base are clearly miles away from being anywhere near that level....still, it makes me laugh, often when I need it most!
  15. They think they'd get over 45k crowds in the premier league???!!!!!!! Oh dear, I just spat out my Sauvignon Blanc and laffed loud for (ironically) about 45 seconds! They've never got anywhere near a crowd like that in their history, their record crowd is 38k, which is decent, but that was 57 years ago! The world has changed....they struggle to get 8k or 9k now and they think we are deluded?! As soneone said above, I don't know any City fan who thinks we'd get 45k plus in the Prem....for what it's worth I think we'd average around 24.5k in the Prem....
  16. At least we won't be sniffing around their 'stadium' in their hour of need, trying to nick it for bugger all....oh how this will all be payback for their shameful antics in 1982!!!!
  17. Funnily enough they've had 17 managers since 2000! Holloway Thompson Francis Thompson Bater Graydon Bater Osman/Broadhurst Atkins Trollope Patterson Penney Campbell Buckle McGhee Ward Clarke
  18. "Sixth richest club in England" "We will take over City and use their stadium for our youth team games" "We will overtake City within two years..." "Bristol City, we're coming for you..." "Tick tock..." .....hollow talk that will well and truly come back to haunt them....they are so jealous it hurts, but they will never admit it.... Worth a giggle though!
  19. Sunderland's home record is truly dismal - an unbelievable fall from grace. In the days when Peter Reid was their boss they were battling away at the top of the Prem - he took them to two consecutive 7th place finishes (having spent a lot of the second season in 2nd place) and Kevin Phillips was the top scorer in Europe with 30 goals in one of those seasons.....heady days for the mackems....
  20. 73rd minute - http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41703332
  21. .....and on the momentous anniversary yesterday, didn't Milan notch our winner 17 mins from time? Beautiful...
  22. Top of the world? Strong cider? Tenterhooks? All of the above?!
