  1. @Ska Junkie I'm with you Brother (or Sister!) - 40 years ago today!
  2. Does this ring any bells H? https://whatpub.com/pubs/AVN/157/harvesters-bristol
  3. I don't think there has ever been a pub called The Air Balloon in Stockwood?! Are you thinking of the Man in Space? Antelope? Concorde? @harrys
  4. They are truly remarkable! Good of the 'dick' to ignore Brislington, Knowle West, Whitchurch, Hengrove, Broomhill, Withywood, Ashton, Long Ashton, Southville, Totterdown, Redcliffe, Shirehampton, Sea Mills, Dundry, Kingswood, Pucklechurch, Portishead, Nailsea, WsM, lots of other Somerset places (Chard, Wells, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Farrington Gurney, Radstock ...etc) and loads of others....
  5. "No they're not - they're winning away at Coventry...."
  6. "Better Red than Green with Envy..." - the best banner I've ever seen hanging from an M4 bridge when the blue few made their way back from a Wembley defeat in which they wore green! Class!
  7. Ooooh! I can hear their deluded argument already - "we had nearly 10% of the total attendance...when have you Teds ever done that?!" Um - lots of times! In recent memory - Burton, Brentford, Fulham, Villa, Cardiff, Brum, Blackburn....etc etc...
  8. I would imagine there is a lot of "Wael-ling" in the away end....
  9. "That stand's too big for you...." - there must have been a sponsored cycle ride within thirty miles...that seriously hampers their travelling hoardes.....
  10. What's the time? 4 past roverzzzzz......"print that Grimsby Telegraph..."
  11. The blue few fans I know continually wax lyrical about their 'amazing' away followings...yet I can stop them dead in their tracks and witness blank and disbelieving stares when I simply ask "when are you going to invade a home game, you just never sell out a tiny ground....?" It's quite incredible, it's as if time goes into slow motion as I watch them try to compute the logic... Oh and we get bigger crowds at home and bigger away followings...why can't they just accept that?! And they are obsessed with the year 1982 - we've won more honours since 1982 than they've won in their entire history....
  12. Neigh, I reckon it was this classic tipple...... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Horse_(whisky)
  13. I love the way your typo is so nearly the wholly appropriate 'Robbers' ......They tried to pinch Ashton Gate in 1982, they squatted at Trumpton then steal the rugby ground....my fave spelling error to date, good work Sir or Sirette!
  14. I know this is as much the doing of the Bristol Post as that mob up the road, but to call a podcast "Gassing out loud" is just hilarious! Does anyone connected with them ever stop to think that so much about that club just makes us laugh, and laugh some more before they just serve up another portion of hilarity?! http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-post-launches-new-bristol-613481
  15. You never know, it's worth a try because Swindon won league 1 in November a few seasons back after scraping a narrow victory against us. Or was it the World Cup given the way they celebrated? Or possibly the boat race....
  16. Hi Mods - not sure why you merged this....thought it stood alone as a credible new thread....it's a notable anniversary of a song that lots of us have sung heartily for over 30 years.....didn't really want it to get lost in another thread...oh well...
  17. .....Tottenham! The 40th Anniversary of that great day is fast approaching.....22nd October, 1977 - Spurs 9 Gas 0 ........AND it was on Match of the Day in the days when highlights of only a few games were available to the masses when the pubs closed! We play Leeds the day before....it would be brill to hear that chant again, it used to roar out of the 'proper' East End - let's recognise that stupendous day and the amazing role our very own Colin Lee played in their embarrassment in front of the nation! I couldn't care less that he played zero games for us, he was on our books and he scored four against the gas. "...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9......TOTTENHAM..." .....
  18. I'd also laugh if they emulated their performance away at the Cobblers in the 1998 play offs - after a 3-1 home victory in the first leg, the gas were spouting off about a play off final appearance being a formality - it was rumoured they even pre-booked the coaches to Wembley....then three days later they lost the second leg 3-0 at Northampton to go tumbling out! Happy Days!
  19. Oh I've done all that and more mate...they are seriously deluded about their support, both home and away. They seriously think they have more loyal fans than us....despite the fact we average more at home and away than them , every season...
  20. When the gasheads I know start saying they get better away followings than us I just cut them off with "we took 18k to our last home game...how many did you manage?" They've got a great range of blank and baffled looks as they try to compute that one...
  21. ....is it just me, or did we avoid relegation by only three points last season, not five?!
  22. No, I think I was wrong, I think I mis-read your post, that's why I edited mine! I mean, we finished above them in 2013/14 and above them last season....so you are right? I just read your post to mean that we haven't finished in a position below them for 21 years when we did in 2014?! Perhaps I'm just confused! Apologies chief...
