  1. I think although I'm prepared to revise my view, that the chances of promotion will be via the playoffs. Parachute clubs are the predominant clubs who will be playing for top 2. There are caveats, e.g. Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley may not be so dominant, in some ways finances could hinder the last 2. Otoh if any of Leeds, Leicester, Southampton stay down, they may well have to retrench as FFP Upper Loss limit drops to £61m next year and Parachute Payments by £10m in Year 2. If Ipswich stay down I don't see them replicating th is year, on the flipside the relegated club a shouldn't (for this level) be such powers as Leeds, Leicester and Southampton at once. The chances as a non Parachute club are diminishingly low however.
  2. That game, plus the Millwall and Norwich games at home were the 3 most sopororific at Home for me. There were other negative gsmes sure but those 3, not even a technical thing at times they were just.. IMO we win the QPR game if we score first. We didn't and the last half hour or perhaps 15-20 mins well we just collapsed didn't we, got shredded on the break so very often due to the triple or quadruple change and the subsequent change of shape around the hour mark. That latter 20, 30 mins really compounded it.
  3. Credit where it is due. I'll be honest I was a bit sceptical given the sketchy structure at the top of the club, some of the results and performances and social media mood music but 12k at this stage that is good stuff. You had a good source!
  4. That's what I mean, he is Group CEO- thinly spread. Seems a bit of a choppy structure overall.
  5. Not just results but improved, intent and performances in 3 if not 4.. I don't think the Swansea result e.g. would've had people rushing back, this six game run has had 3 if not 4 positive performances too and that can inspire hope.
  6. 12k at this stage, that is an improvement? @Topper 123 may have had better info than assumed. A late rush between last week and now? GM mentioned 8,000.
  7. One thing I noticed, listened to bits of it. Will listen in full another time. Am quite sure tbat Gavin Marshall said the football capacity of the Atyeo was around 3.7k. This is a sudden increase given that a few weeks ago Jerry SLO on the ask SLO said it was 3.4k or thereabouts.
  8. Thought Gould was an excellent CEO. Marshall hard to say, spread thinly though he is.
  9. Will try and extrapolate from last year. Hopefully we are at least in par and a string summer window you never know but..It'll mainly be posted in Tweets. Spring 2023 Next section should contain the relevant 2024 landmarks... Spring 2024
  10. Good thread/analysis. Worth noting that the sale and leaseback of Stamford Bridge itself may not be possible owing to the Chelsea pitch owners...unsure what cost and value that constitutes.
  11. Top 6 candidate, not Promotion. That is broadly speaking for the Parachute clubs. However add Scott (fitness permitting) to a solid base and it can push a club forward. I agree with the overall point, we have got to provide that belief but FFP permitting, sometimes you have to take a chance.
  12. It's not even that I think Bournemouth represents a terrible move or anything just that sometimes it can be best for development to properly hone your craft one more year. Of course if it is about the £ and the possibility that he hits the ground running I get it.
  13. Well yeah, my thinking was flowing from there. Scott stays, happier NP, happier club- suddenly we are truly built for a 4-3-3..Scott creating, carrying- best base around him yet. Everything (his fitness permitting) couldve panned out a bit differently.
  14. Of course, all 20 clubs and 14/20 is the required threshold as it should be. It's just that I recall crowing from say Ty Bracey 6 months ago or maybe local journos talking up their financial prudence back in the Autumn so.. Agreed. UEFA also have a lower Upper Loss lLmit for clubs in good financial health and lower still if not, their test is two part (The Ratio rule the main bit then €60m in 3 years plus Allowables, rising to €90m with good financial health). The latter bit may or may not include Fixed Assets sales, less permissive than the PL with it I imagine .
  15. I was thinking less from a financial angle and more whether one more year in a side that had a more solid base year ln year could absolutely have honed his game, maybe some more goals from midfield as he was looking potent pre season and then go with all boxes ticked, perhaps carrying us to more serious top 6 contention current bolstering his reputation.
  16. I hope so. You're probably right, I know a Bournemouth fan- he told me this time last year that Semenyo was settling in nicely despite a slow start. Look at him now.
  17. The Scott point is an interesting one. Did he make the leap a year too soon or has he made the right call. He has had injuries and that wonderful assist v Fulham on Boxing Day but highlights have been modest for him. Conway certainly isn't PL ready yet, a higher ranked Championship club never know. The lone striker thing, quite a lot of clubs now play just one through the middle. Yes I know 4-3-3, 4-5-1 and 4-2-3-1 all have different characteristics and the service to our strikers has lacked at times this year. Overall sadly I don't see him signing. Having said that the play until May 2025 and take a Tribunal I'd be inclined to favour.
  18. No surprise here, wonder if Aston Villa will look to sell and leaseback the Training Ground (the upgrade of which was partially funded by public money during the HS2 construction phase). The problem or a problem they have is that qualifying for European football also stipulates certain requirements and in some ways it is more stringent. It's as if they think the Rules should only apply when it suits them. Sure they aren't alone in that but remember that 2019 loophole which has how shut at the Football League level.
  19. This I agree with. It was give or take at the same stage in the sales process that they proclaimed we had hit the 10,000 mark- deafening silence this time around isn't there.
  20. I don't want to like your post as a fall on Season ticket see is disappointing news, even though I agree on the analysis..I suspect they would be trumpeting it unless they have a big positive surprise number to release.
  21. I also fear the prediction by @Jeez I think it was of 14k again is somewhat optimistic but time will tell.
  22. I get the impression that we are behind last year..at this stage last year we had reached 10k, time will tell as to whether we have at present.
  23. Atyeo holds 3.4k or thereabouts for football these days thanks to the SAG, unsure how that impacts upon your calculations if at all.
  24. Am indeed! It's just that, last year at this stage the club trumpeted at this stage, 10,000 landmark met.
  25. Have the club released anything formally yet?
