  1. 4 more points would be reasonable, being s bit greedy 6 but yes 4 will be aok- it will maintain the level. We have had two especially poor runs under Manning, maybe 2 especially poor and 1 suspect. Otoh this is a strong run, so too was the run in December of 10/4 and 2 wins gave us an opening in mid February..then alas.
  2. Still improving in respect of the position but remember Sheffield Wednesday play tomorrow and tbis is prior to the game QPR are currently playing. QPR v Preston currently 1-0 to the hosts so heading to 11th. Possibly 2 or 3 points light on where we might be. However performances out of the last 6 such as Leicester, Blackburn, Norwich and even in some ways Plymouth are reasons for some positivity.
  3. Naismith when fit also a viable option and crucially IMO can switch between deeper midfield and a back 3 in-game, another tactical dimension. Not sure how many others we have can do it in that way for us.
  4. I'd say 4 enjoyable performances personally, e.g. Plymouth perhaps the least eye catching of the 4 but after weathering an early storm we looked decent- important too given the aforementioned variable record and performances vs bottom third sides
  5. Hopefully we can keep both. Both offer strong positives, experience and quality, in the case of Williams perhaps entering peak years.
  6. No real need to sell this summer, Bird has good Championship experience and yet room for growth. Recruitment and retention could be key.
  7. Cardiff are oddly low in wages, £14-15m only for players, total Club wage bill £22m or so?? That was their 2023 Accounts as stated.
  8. I won't go Chapter and Verse bit the loophole shut in 2021 for good reason. It is an irrelevant consideration under FFP Regs in the Championship, like I say 7 clubs between 2017-18 to 2020-21 did it. I'll double check the full list later.
  9. Officiating and VAR? Though we have been more sinned against than favoured, I see Huddersfield did receive an Apology Letter pertaining to our penalty so we perhaps were lucky there. Otoh we are still in debit albeit 6 penalties under Manning has helped.
  10. Thought was a good display. Our goal very well worked- unlikely scorer! Twine winning free kicks in dangerous positions. That is more like it performance wise, more of this less of some of the worse stuff. We looked cohesive and dangerous. Offside..not sure at all about their goal, our disallowed one- what do we think?
  11. Reasonably happy with that performance. Seems like we are well in the game, Sykes definitely should've scored. Far better than the zero shots first half v Huddersfield and Swansea, brighter than at Wear Brom before the International break. We certainly have a better base with Dickie back. Got the Norwich stream with Radio Bristol commentary, seems to work quite well- about a minute behind at most.
  12. Nice to see Dickie is back. I assume we are being cautious, sensible in respect of Vyner?
  13. I won't go Chapter and Verse but basically. It goes down as a Fixed Asset Profit basically to offset Expenditure/Operating Losses. A host of Championship clubs did this from 2017-18, in practice Spring 2018 to Spring 2021 ie the latter part of 2020-21. The loophole was resealed in Summer 2021 and was mostly Sale and Leaseback. It isn't entirely if at all, a case of letting off the big club- it is basically a failure in Governance in keeping this escape route open.
  14. I refuse to call it a "Singing Section" but typically standing fans are more likely to sing, chant etc. Seated bit more sedentary less so. The location and size of the Safe Standing area feels too low to me..a bigger and more prominent one could see the atmosphere spread a bit further. More people singing, more might join in.
  15. Home Record has actually been okay this year however the wider point that you make I tend to agree.. It is ridiculous and seems to have been imposed by stealth..should such a move not have been announced and it publicised. I don't recall. 2k to away. Less segregation Remaining Home Fans. How big is the segregation- how wide should it be The other issue of course is the FA Cup- this mandates up to 15% of capacity to away sides so we would have to rework it for this.
  16. Ha I'd say so..That is the exact term someone I know who had dealings with the Council used to describe them.
  17. Agreed. It truly baffles me as to why there is such overkill when there are stands separated ie the Atyeo isn't joined up to the other side. While the SAG may have imposed it, possibly the club aren't too vigorously opposed but I could be wrong. A key reason it kicked off v Swansea was incompetent and or significantly undermanned stewarding and police in that corner pre kick off. A key there is to simply steward and police it correctly. That could be it yeah. I just think from a competitive advantage perspective you won't the away fans as far as possible from the pitch and in reasonably moderate numbers..in as unprominent a position as possible. Flexibility is okay- ones who give us a generous allocation you can make an argument for that, the City allocation could flex depending on away fans ie if they bring 1k we can up it by 1k less segregation. There are a range of ways to look into it but the current setup just feels wrong to me.
  18. The capacity has been reduced by stealth pretty much by 15-20% of that stand. That is the starting point here. Perhaps not the Club then although perhaps they could come out and explain certain matters.. but the SAG are a public body, they are beyond a disgrace really. The club have to try and push back, maybe they are vs these overbearing secretive individuals. Reading have and have had significant off pitch issues, 6 point deduction x 3 Business Plan..don't think they paid a few for 3 if not 4 years. Birmingham give 2k, WBA gave us 2k this year iirc. There is an element of Home Advantage and there is an element of reciprocation. Agree on the Leeds point. They did so for about 15 games or something approaching. Only now have They stalled a bit for the first time since late December. That surprises me, offering a whole end to away fans feels an undoubted advantage. Could offer first refusal to transfer for certain games to ST Holders. Hull owner said just lately something about his goalkeeper in relation to location of the away fans. It sort of computes out over the season though. In games where lesser away followings may arise, you can have some in a Home last of the Atyeo which brings both costs and benefits.
  19. It genuinely feels like these are undue restrictions tbh. I get restrictions given the particular rivalry vs Cardiff and Swansea. I think the jury is out..albeit there are some good arguments off the top of my head ie Plymouth, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Leicester, all big away followings, all good stuff. Making a stadium a fortress, feeling like you're at Home feels important to me anyway..Birmingham in August a good example. Leeds were very good at AG, possibly the best side we've faced this season at Home but they were backed prominently too. It's about accountability too really. There Is little from the club or in particular the SAG. I think away fans in a prominent well backed position absolutely can hand them a marginal gain. Shouldn't need much segregation, if you look at other clubs a line or 2 of stewards and where appropriate police does it albeit the latter can cost. That would offset some of the reduction in away fans and in any event it is only some games where it may affect materially..Some sides don't bring that many at all so if capped at 2k or so...maybe no major drop.
  20. Thanks, will go back and have a look. I think what the £203m down to £63m represents is the difference between fee received and a) Remaining Book Value to be Amortised and b) Sell-on fees to former clubs. That is the key figure after these two have been accounted for pretty much..would also include any sold at a loss detracting from the overall Profit on Disposal.
  21. They are a shower of shit clearly the SAG. Unaccountable *******.
  22. Well Jerry said on the SLO bit that the SAG had mandated 3.4k or thereabouts. I'm not saying I want to give away sides 4k, far from it- I've posted in the past that we are too accommodating IMO, more that tbis is a draconian overkill given that they are separate and distinct stands...have the club sought to push back here where possible. It also doesn't augur well presumably for e.g. filling in the corners.
  23. £63m Profit?? Nope, a £90m pre tax loss even if it is included at full stated Profit. Can you link to the Article in q? Yes slightly under value would cover all bases although not too far as tax can be paid on such transactions and HMRC may want weird. It is not really a loophole no, is basic Accounting. Albeit something that the EFL rightly voted to adjust out The gamble can be one of two ways really..perhaps 3. *Stave off the inevitable. *Buy time to get higher on the pitch and start to make up gaps that way. *Buy time to use it to restructure finances over a 2-3 year period so you're back on the level. Amortisation length rule won't be backdated but any subsequent signings that they (or anyone else make) will.be assessed over a max of 5 years irrespective of the actual length that they sign for.
  24. 100% I'm sure it held 4-4.2k not so long ago.
  25. It seems like drastic overkill, inherently wrong to me. I am not suggesting Jerry is making it up, I am referring to the body in question and the lack of public reasoning for this..not like they are in the same stand is it?? A public body as I suspected cutting capacity of a stand by 15-20%, is the Atyeo deemed unsafe, is it segregation...segregation between stands themselves.
