  1. I had a feeling Plymouth might get something. Tricky, Friday night..Championship can always reel you back in- lot of tricky away games.
  2. They looked until the start of Jan at times like a niddljg PL side, not top end middling but middling or lower middling IMO. Burnley, Luton, Sheffield United at turn of year or Leicester? The current versions of Brentford (injury hit), Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest or up to end of 2023, Leicester. They won 4 on the bounce to mid February too..AFCon didn't help but still a deep squad, post 2-3 in Jan, some injuries but the Championship has a great habit of dragging sides back in.
  3. Leicester are cheats from an FFP angle, Leeds not from that one, Ashton nuff said. Any chance Southampton could win the last however many and charge in it?
  4. That wasn't entirely my reading of it. Case 1.. The dispute over T. Leicester deservedly won that. No Business Plan. Rightly as T is this season not 2022-23, don't know how the Case 2. EFL wanted in conjunction with PL to get points docked this year for the Period ending 2022-23. I'd say this merely provided some clarity. A problem comes with the Embargo being slapped on under 2.10.1, as 2.10.3 says that a forecast P&S overspend to this year needs the Embargo and to be referred to the CFRP. Case 1 was damaging but I still rate the EFL and their pursuit of FFP wrongdoing.
  5. Such dilemmas...was thinking Leeds and Southampton somehow get top 2 then someone..Coventry maybe win Playoffs.
  6. That is pertaining to the PL I believe. EFL in-season, I think the League might go again.
  7. Come on Plymouth too. Sides who play fast and loose deserve to miss promotion.
  8. To be fair, Leeds, Southampton as compliant parties.... ...Ipswich are also compliant but how- how- can we back Promotion of a side with Mark Ashton as CEO.
  9. Good spot..Leicester Tigers paid a fine for the Rugby Salary cap too this season iirc! See also Leicester 2002-03 admin, 2013-14 FFP overspend, Nottingham Forest Embargo mid 2010s or so relating to FFP and Derby FFP and Admin, Derby also Admin early 2000s and some kind of financial difficulty in the early 1980s.
  10. Leicester should now be referred to the CFRP despite what some of their stupid crowing fans think. IMO anyway. Depends how you interpret the Rules but EFL need to go again.
  11. This deal, I still dunno...£2.5m does it offset the potential disruption, maybe a knock-on for ST Holders the changes to Robins TV and equivalent stations. Element of penny wise pound foolish it feels to me..hope I'm wrong. If it is conjunction with EFL and PL finally agreeing a new distribution deal well maybe, the wage etc Ratio rule will assist with solvency medium term too but right now and maybe different in League One and Two, it doesn't feel a great trade-off for the Championship non Parachute clubs in particular. Money aside, the disruption to matchday fans- the lifeblood of clubs.
  12. Funny feeling the EFL may try again this season. This time with the Forecast fail.
  13. Written Reasons and weirdly I would suggest that may open the door to refer for the Forecast fail this year. As I have stated before, Rule 2.10.1...logically 2.10.3 can follow on. https://www.efl.com/news/2024/april/12/efl-statement--leicester-city/ It says at the end that the Arbitration will continue albeit whether that means pertaining to P&S to the present season or that particular case. Interim Relief was dismissed as unnecessary.
  14. I think we can be a bit harsh on it at times but.. ...The club really need to do their bit. They maybe doing so in due course- I don't mean manufacture an atmosphere, but facilitate an environment in which atmospheres can flourish. Bigger, more prominent area line the South Stand corner, smaller away allocation, perhaps split the Atyeo, turn off the music 10 before kick off, or at the least then it right down..maybe reading away sides first is the norm now but it never fully sits well. The light thing for night games I would mention but it seems to be imposed from the outside so no point.
  15. Ultimately to try to protect the Lower Leagues and grassroots. A free for all..how many would then just watch Liverpool, Man United or whoever is popular and attendances below the PL fall further. Modern trends that really irritates "But who is your PL side, or your favoured PL side" (in addition to main side).
  16. I remember one Monday night game but then I'm fortunate to life relatively close to AG less than an hour walk each way). Crystal Palace under GJ. Warnock was not best pleased at how that one ended of course..
  17. This deal with Sky for what a £2-2.5m increase for a typical Championship club Less possible disruption and hits to Gate Receipts with the whole kick-off times being here, there and everywhere. Less revenue from club T.V. channels. Maybe the costs outweigh the benefits but a Cost-Benefit Analysis would be interesting..on the other hand, in theory (although IPTV etc) no domestic streaming means it can incentivise fans showing up a bit more.
  18. You can't Appeal an Agreed Decision. When I read it a bit further it was that so 2 and 2 more suspended until end of the season in which they got-2. This is separate from an Award. Why it took a year to thrash this out however is odd. They got an Embargo too at the time and money was paid in the end..was it enough? Who knows.
  19. I do wonder...we had been unbeaten at Home since mid to late February. As it turned out, a draw would have sent them down as both Blackburn and Nottingham Forest won. Yet despite a clear improvement ie winning vs Huddersfield, Wolves, QPR and Barnsley in successive home games, scoring 12 in the process..not a single shot on target. Lots of Possession but not a Shot on Target. Sure we sealed survival the week before at Brighton but failing to show up was a major disappointment.
  20. Sending Stoke down would be a delight. Although Birmingham dropping would also be quite agreeable given 1999 (Mike Dean game), 2013 whereby they relegated us and 2017 where we fluffed our lines. Ideally they both go down but if the chance should arise in May I hope we do it.
  21. New FFP Rules. https://theathletic.com/5407740/2024/04/11/premier-league-ffp-rules-new/ Whether it will filter down who knows, but P&S is expected to remain next year and these Rules fully from 2025-26. 85% which doesn't wholly align with UEFA and the 70% which clubs who qualify for Europe will have to adhere to.
  22. It isn't easy on one level, like I say the dilemma of how to treat FA Cup games where they away sides would be entitled to a larger than 2k allocation...could have an equivalent ,number of seats ringfenced elsewhere in the ground for Home fans...because the usual 2k allocation may bit be applicable in the FA Cup. I'm glad you mentioned engagement more widely too. The SLO has gradually withdrawn from this place and save for one post, has been seen less and less in recent months- apart from the day/period that ST Tickets for 2024-25 were announced. Check the ask SLO section. I'm not necessarily slating Jerry, I assume there is some level of guidance or instruction from above. Back on topic, this is it- marginal gains. It can all add up. Away fans influence the game less, we facilitate a 2nd or a larger Safe Standing area. We should definitely IMO give this a try vs Rotherham.
  23. That is really interesting from a jurisdictional standpoint. If a Proceeding pertaining to Aligned Rules begins in the PL or EFL it can continue clearly. Sets an interesting precedent and can offer some clarity. Possibly a case of the punishment being parked until such time as a club return to the relevant League. Agreed Decision in the end, ratified by an IDC.
  24. I honestly think home fans behind both goals can help the side. It helps a side. The other issue is of course cost and revenue. There are a few circles to square but it can't help when you have a while end whereby away fans who are more likely to stand and sing perhaps..our own standing fans tucked into a corner. There had to be a better way than the current scenario. Giving away fans a whole stand or most of it anyway just doesn't make sense from a football angle..Hull owner said similar, he mentioned why he was moving away fans from behind the goal and referred to the goalkeeper. Found a quick quote. It is relatively marginal in terms of total revenue, as a %...plus would some home fans in games especially where away fans don't bring many not offset some of this.
