  1. Perhaps, they did sign quite a few loanees from higher divisions last season though- accounts will reveal all anyway, they seem to be acting more responsibly now too.
  2. Though they aren't a Championship relevant FFP issue at this second, quite a claim- Sheffield Wednesday wage bill down to £15m only for last season. Still one of the highest at League One of course but leaves them with some room to breathe if true. Accounts not due until end of April or so but they look highly likely to be back up.
  3. Fine to 2021, more than fine to 2022...yeah you're right, they missed some things so okay to 2023..but once the decent Covid losse year drops off. ? Also assuming that the rules haven't fully changed by next season- the League are taking their time to formally announce the 90-80-70 rule. For QPR though, going into the 3 year cycle to 2023-24 as things stand... 2021-22...Pre-tax loss £24,667,000...-£4m, £2.5m. T-2, £18.167m P&S loss. Although I wonder if their FFP allowance might nof be £5m per year in which case £17.167m, or anything between £4-5m. 2022-23...No sales of note but surely costs down a bit? Compensation for Beale- say a pre tax loss of £21m. - £4-5m in allowable losses...£16-17m FFP loss. Means the £10m for next year maybe a bit conservative. Or a bit high.
  4. The often excellent Loft For Words on QPR. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/59765/ The author estimates a £10m FFP hole moving towards next season ie when the Covid year drops off, the 3 year period ending in 2023-24.
  5. I misread the Wolves number, was actually a £46m pre tax loss there!? For Cardiff, post Parachutes my best guess is that their income will not exceed £25m and perhaps will be closer to £20m. As for Stoke, we have some idea but as I said months ago I'd be surprised based on a) Attendances and b) Analysis of 2018-19 income excluding T.V. money if their income isn't in the £25-30m bracket once likely T.V. and Solidarity money added back in. Plus they seem to be pre empting any regulatory questions over FFP, Sala or solvency- CH glitch much! ?
  6. Is the correct answer! Sure he won't make a return visit or will he?? Picked a good match tbh (Millwall 2 Norwich 3). Quite like Millwall away tbh, did it in 2018 and 2019- usually a good atmosphere. Away end bit cramped and older style.
  7. Sure some will have seen it already but guess which club.
  8. Reading between the lines, is it some dispute relating to compliance with the Business Plan? https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/efl-insider-sends-warning-to-reading-fc-ahead-of-likely-points-deduction/ Ince talking about historic reasons muddied the waters further, perhaps he was referring to historic to his tenure- he joined about a year ago, but still relating to last season.
  9. Cardiff at club level- unsure about Holdings yet, have submitted. Should all be about tomorrow or Wednesday. Likewise Stoke (Club, Holdings, Property Limited). In PL, yes as I thought Aston Villa parent £0.4m profit only despite the huge sale of Grealish. While Wolves made a loss of about £5-6m- transfer profits and impairment influenced this either way. As for Cardiff, Operating Expenses of about £67m in 2020-21...dunno if that includes or excludes Interest Payable, assuming the former. Stoke's was about £86m. No Interest Payable there of course.
  10. I suppose I haven't worded it so well Dave. Of course 4-3-3 has existed for years. Suppose my point/view on this is that it is the best suited to rhe modern game- the press, the relative compactness and the extra margin for error in possession when you have 3 as opposed to 2 in CM. Semenyo was a great one for us in this- he cut in and out. Yeah a forward getting too isolated is a risk too...that support is definitely needed, not sure that we are quite getting the balance right though a fit Atkinson and Naismith will improve us in terms of ball carrying and possession- Naismith unlike our other CMs possibly most naturally can drop back into a back 3 too. Helpful in-game. Agreed on this- but supplemental I don't think 2 in CM or 2 with an attacking mid necessarily suited those CMs in a lot of cases either.
  11. Apologies if posted elsewhere- also apologies for the source Is Daily Mail. However an article not solely abouf him but contains some bits about Scott- mentions Skipp too so like I say not solely. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11823271/Alex-Scott-complete-meteoric-rise-flight-summer.html
  12. Dunno if he meant instantly but it would be the ultimate leap tbh.
  13. While I don't think we need to overdo them or add for the sake of adding, if the price is right, if the terms are right and if the individual is right- do we think we might see 2 or 3 next season? They can certainly add something, be it an impetus, a bit of stardust- knowhow without tying down to a multi year deal. No silver bullet and shouldn't add for the hell of it but a few next season? We now have the nucleus of a competitive and cohesive squad when most are fit.
  14. Hindsight etc but still wonder whether Blackett on a free- finances permitting- could have been ideal. In fact I possibly mentioned it a while ago. 28, decent age- ✔ Experienced but not too old- ✔ Strong Championship experience- ✔ Left footed- ✔ Indeed perhaps moreso than Klose he could have been a medium term option given age etc. Versatile too, given the ability to play LB, think he's played in a back 4 and 3 alike.
  15. He is just advising right? Will watch the interview with Alexander later, he mentioned it iirc.
  16. In all honesty, we weren't that bad at times. Had we scored first we draw at worst IMO- that was it clearance off the line, Scott chance anyway 1st half felt a big one.
  17. Thanks. Some impressive availability there then. In the 2/3-80 pct ratio...in fact he joined one of them a bit later. What exactly happened with that- the Ralls input. Williams did strike me as a fairly robust player, when fit even more so but availability wise the numbers speak for themselves at his 3 prior clubs.
  18. The bit about Scudamore has since been picked up by the Times now. Ziegler in yesterday's column mentions his advisory role here- hopefully it's all on the level given director rules, disclosure etc. Then again we don't do regulatory breaches so I'm sure it is.
  19. Interesting development on this general policy albeit not City specific. Easier to copy a thread rather than an individual post. That Stoke fan is in the FSA. Malcolm Clarke to be exact.
  20. Perhaps but that number of shots...43 shots in 5 games also isn't that much. Unsure where it ranks, quantity needs to rise too of course. 8 from a similar number (no own goals, no penalties), quick check says 8 from 42. That is within the top range of sustainability ie pushing it. Otoh across Sheffield United, Watford, Stoke and West Brom at home 0 penalties and 0 own goals- 47 shots, 1 goal. That's home only but...Phillips also hit his own bar in the last of these. Overall from QPR at home, 10 goals 133 shots excluding own goals and (HA!) at that point was a given to exclude penalties.
  21. Squad next season although potentially minus Scott is shaping up. O'Leary, New Signing (Or Hakin), Bajic (Or New Signing) Tanner, Wilson, Vyner (surely he'll stay- but New Signing if not), Kalas (Or New Signing), Atkinson, New Signing, Pring, DaSilva (Or New Signing) James, Williams, Naismith- If Scott leaves and isn't loaned back, two new signings otherwise one needed minimum IMO Sykes, Cornick, Mehmeti, Benarous Bell, Conway, Weimann, Wells Some versatility in there too but depth wise yeah there are 16 probables already there, contracted and then of varying likeliness out of contract or still out of the pecking order...Hakin, Vyner, Kalas, DaSilva. King also out of contract while Scott surely off for good money. Bajic and his place in the pecking order, time will tell.
  22. Spot on. Think 4-3-3 ia a very modern, suitable setup. Not the be all and end all and there were good performances albeit unsuccessful results or good results with questionable performances with a back 3. However totally agree on the pressing point, I also believe and have argued this on here periodically in recent years that 4-3-3 is better for possession football therefore the possession and press combo ajd that with players such as recently Massengo, before him Nagy, arguably would have helped Pack, Smith and Brownhill to be even better...Walsh had he been fit is another. Hegeler probably would have suited a 3, Henriksen too- closer proximity, tighter unit- probably better for possession in a 3 than a 2 abd by a 3 I mean 3 true CMs, not say 2 CMs and one of Paterson/Weimann, let alone Palmer or O'Dowda.
  23. As for Conway, checked and he scored a frankly ludicrous 5 goals from 9 shots across 6 or 7 games back in August/September. Not just the goals/games ratio but the conversion rate was insane.
  24. Our conversion rate seems to be on the slide again, both individually and collectively. Just on Conway, it is worth noting as I mentioned a while ago, his conversion rate was for a time high. Insanely high. Fine young player, prospect but a drought following an insanely high conversion rate is and was highly likely. What if any correlation between the absence of Naismith and our less prolific periods. 4 goals from 43 shots is a shade over 9 percent but 2 of the goals were penalties. 43 shots is also down on the amounts being created but earlier in the season we were less than prolific at certain times but recently we were outperforming averages.
  25. Or drew with Watford, drew with and outplayed them.
