On Talksport earlier they said that 30 yo Wilfried Saha’s contract with Palace expired today after he turned down their final offer of £200k pw.
There really is far too much money in football these days. We really can’t compete with clubs in the Prem which can countenance such colossal salaries. I’d love him to stay with us but were I Alex’s dad, I’d be telling my son to jump aboard the gravy train just as soon as possible.
Never heard of him.

I live in Nottingham, and down the pub at lunchtime that was about the only subject being discussed. The Crown in Beeston is with you, Oil (or should that be Services?j
Top notch pub.

Steven Caulker was a Sunday.
Sunday Bloody Sunday it really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday - you wake up in the morning, you’ve got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running around, you’ve got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think “Sunday, bloody Sunday!”

Er, yes, but there's no time embargo on rumours, is there !
Exactly. There's a long way to go.

I think he'll still be here this season , which is fine, but kinda buggers up our recruiting plans. There doesn't seem to be any whiff of a rumour about his transfer which I thought there would have been by now ?
You are aware we're not even halfway through June?

I've just read through a few pages and the consensus seems to be that Alex Scott isn't a very good player. Baffling.
I guess it's some people's way of dealing with him leaving.
And then I read posts about people panicking that we won't find a buyer cos there hasn't been any news. The premier league season finished 2 week ago. 3 premier league clubs have had games in the past week.
The transfer market has only just started to wake up from its winter hiatus.
Alex's season has only just finished.
100% he'll be leaving this summer. Might mot be this week or next, but he'll be leaving.
Doubt it mate, he can't even kick it properly.

And hopefully your right. I still think he’ll start the season with us.
Fingers crossed!

Going by posts from many fans across Twitter where they’ve suggested their club sign Scott for a few million - I think our fans and club are hugely overvaluing Scott. I understand the club doing it to obtain optimal price but I can’t see any club offering any more than 10m quid for him.
We definitely aren't, he's just won the Championship young player of the year...
-
Pretty sure he can play centre back, left back or defensive midfield. Maybe a bit of a left sided McCrorie?

The food in the sports bar isn't great, not sure that'll help get this one over the line.

One thing to think about, as we like a player with a good song. My mate added ....
You can Nick our song “ big ******* Dickie, we’ve got a big ******* Dickie” and repeat
Tell him we'll pass on that one.

Derby Co 1975 (1980)
er, Manchester Utd 1967 (1974)
Ipswich Town 1962 (1964)
Is it really worth it? Shouldn't we just be happy with our lot?
I think you might be missing the point of competitive sport...

Hypothetical question. Luton just got promoted, if they came in with a 30 mill offer for Scott, would we accept and would he take that move?
wondering if they come after us now they will have a bit of money to spite us for stealing Naismith from under their noses
Very hypothetical as it's never going to happen.

Yes and the whole of bristol is full of aesthetic delights, such as southmead road, east street and who can forget a nice drive through hartcliffe?
Maybe he could live in Bath and commute?

Would be a bizarre signing.
Good player but wages would be massive and it's not a position we particularly need to strengthen.
