  1. First thing I would ask if I were Nigel is "will you sleep with me, Nick?" Why? The liibdems seem to want to lie down with anyone. The only remaining question is who will be the 'giver' and whom the 'taker'?
  2. Some posts are getting slightly negative. Sad to see.
  3. ........ lots of advantages to two headed sheep ...............
  4. I am very disappointed that we are losing at home to Carlisle. I am equally disappointed 'someone' changed the title of this thread earlier. Cumbria is well known for sheep rearing - so it was a fair claim I was making.
  5. COYR. City to lift themselves majestically out of the drop zone this afternoon. Usual City goal scorers - none in our onion bag. TFR
  6. Look on the bright side, Red Ox, the game will probably be called off with a water-logged pitch. If Horace is found underwater we drowned, if he is found floating near the goal mouth, I 'accidentally' reversed over him, before tossing him over the Dolman. Please, please, no more thread drift about the match .................
  7. EMB, you joker, I can get you Heston Blumingtile's Saturday night ready meal for one, if you like. It's Hedgehog sushi. You cannot get any more rare that that (apart from a City clean sheet).
  8. Someone has already stated that this is a 'must win game', so I will merely remind us all who the next two matches are against. Has to be 3 points, as we will get nowt from the next two games. 3-1 City - JET to score the second with an over-head kick from 30 yards, in his last game before he signs for Boro. Attendance 11,571. Weather report to follow, if I can be arsed.
  9. TNBT You are forgetting none of the players have to take and s**t from the manager, if they complain to the chairman first. Look what happened to GJ when he had the cheek to shout at Carey and that scottish midfield-bloke with the Bentley. Player power is bigger than the club, and that has got us where we are today: borderline league 1/2.
  10. This thread is indicative of why football clubs are run by a manager and NOT a committee. There are pros and cons to every signing, and our defence ain't the best. Hopefully we can get rid of Carey and Fontaine now - don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out guys ............
  11. Team news anyone? How about this: Carey better not be on the bench.
  12. I forgot to state the conditions for the game:- It will be a bright and somewhat breezy stroll to the stadium this afternoon - some sunshine, with cloudier periods and a temperature of 11 celcius. It will, however, feel rather colder than this with a moderate SW breeze. After 3 o'clock, it will become rather overcast, with a temperature of 10 celcius, the wind staying moderate SW - about 16 mph - enough to influence any high balls SC tells the fullbacks to hoof down the channels - but it should remain dry. Best to be in the pub by six o'clock however, as there will be some light to moderate outbreaks of rain later in the evening, drying up by 10 o'clock. Thanks for listening, and enjoy the game. TFR Weather Service
  13. It's 10 o'clock, so you've had your chance. Down to business. I think Cotters is going to go for it today - two up front, JET in the hole, and it will be a free scoring encounter. Great for the fans but no real help to either side, ending up in a 3-3 draw. City, unfortunately still bottom a 5 o'clock. However, this is the turning point for us. Lot's of goals for the rest of the season, some sound January signings, and we finish low mid-table on 56 points. COYR. TFR
  14. It's a 'must win' game for the under pressure new City boss ...............
  15. The difference between US and the Australians is summed up in the entity that is the cucumber sandwich. WE have cucumber sandwiches - white, thin-sliced bread, with the crusts and corners cut orf - served with a cup of Earl Grey, and even then a scone afterwards: THEY drink cheap, over cold lager and hate everyone. We must, must maintain the moral high ground. Don't let us sink to the mud-slinging level of those criminals. TFR
  16. A lot of the sentiment on this thread is proof that the world is not a fair place: NOT FAIR at all ............. Mandela gets a state funeral, and all SOD got was the door hitting him on the arse on the way out. Life is cruel indeed.
  17. Nelson - a great, great person, and a massive loss to humanity. On a lighter note: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCZKZlLvE70 Now, it's a pretty grotty choice, I admit, but I would take the backing singer on the right - if you forced me to choose.
  18. Swindon, Yeovil and Bournemouth all in with a shout of Championship footy! Surely that is an incentive for our lads to stay Pride of the West??
  19. ...... and if FGR beat Wrexham today, they go joint second. P.S. Who manages Yeovil? Obviously doing a good job, eh?
