  1. And you thought we had kit problems...
  2. I don't think I've seen anyone have that attitude here - I think people are supportive of those who need an alternate solution having one. They're looking at those who don't need one, but have just decided they want one.
  3. I don't think anyone has any kind of problem with people who are elderly / disabled / whatever and need a physical ticket having one. I think people are rolling their eyes at the snowflakes () demanding a ticket just because they want one for some reason, so are lying on a form designed for the above groups.
  4. If he left in the 80s, surely that was due to seeing the work from people born in the 50s/60s... gen x was from the mid 60s or so right? "Loads of gen x / millennials are running digital outputs"... So you're complaining about people in work under the age of around 65? Which is basically everyone in the country then. Blimey. If only these digital / media outlets were run by a bunch of 80 years olds eh!
  5. Do we know Jon Lansdown has designed any of this? Is he really there drawing this stuff himself or whatever? Would the chairman really be signing off designs of the training kit logo? I know he has some media company or whatever (can't remember the name), but that's very different from designing football shirts etc. right?
  6. I reckon you'd see better defending up on the Downs than in that video
  7. Might be a bit harsh calling him a passenger, but I do expect a few years ago he'd have bobbled around the first team making the odd appearance, gone out for a loan or two, we'd then have activated his +1 year, and finally he'd have left on a free in 3 years time. So maybe you're right! I'd much rather we do it this way and potentially miss out.
  8. It's interesting isn't it. I quite often seen comments now that we should have ditched LJ after our semi-successful season with the cup run - which might have looked very odd to other teams had we done so. Always easy to say in hindsight, but I don't think changing manager should always be done as a last resort in crisis as you mention.
  9. Croatia - only 3 million people (about the same as Wales), two euro quarter finals, a nations league final, a world cup final and two third place finishes in the last 30 years. They're ranked 7th in the world and are usually well in the top 10. How?! It's amazing really and I'd like them to win it.
  10. Suspect him and Alex have been very good influences on each other for the last year or two - living together as well as at the club. Both seem like intelligent and grounded young men.
  11. Well then thinking too simplistically is clearly your problem. Comparing assists for a defender vs mistakes that lead to a goal is like comparing goal saving tackles vs missed chances for a striker - it makes no sense. Strikers will miss more good chances than they'll save goals - but that's inevitable. It's also pretty inevitable that defenders will likely make more dangerous mistakes than get direct assists. Assists is a really narrow metric as well. Naismith is unlikely to play the single ball to result in a goal, but his progressive passing got us up the pitch and in threatening positions (which would then lead to a goal) countless times.
  12. I think that's a good shout actually and not what immediately came to my mind. Keeper might be the only position we now don't have real competition for (as far as we know, based on what we know of the options so far). And although I like Max and he's done much better than I thought he would, I'm still not convinced long term.
  13. Good article! "Thinking, Fast and Slow" (as mentioned in the article) really is a brilliant book. It changed how I view and approach problems and situations, and opened my eyes to a lot of subconscious behaviors and biases we all have. I thought it was a fascinating read.
  14. Looked like he moved his arm towards the ball to me, but so hard to tell
  15. Yeah it's not like we've had issues with idiots throwing bottles onto the pitch this last year or two
  16. He's not fast, but I wouldn't say he has no pace. So? Weakness maybe, but not one that will prevent him being a very good player. I don't pay much attention to things like that personally. I don't think it affects his game all that much. Examples? People say it, I rarely see it. What does that mean? He's played left back, left wing back, and left midfield this year hasn't he? His crossing is poor, but he can "cross a ball". It can be coached and improved. I'm obviously not saying he has no weaknesses, but you're being ridiculous so I am a bit in response. Not everything is this black and white. He's a good player.
  17. In defense of the thread (and @spudski) I thought it was interesting and it's a shame it has mostly become a pretty tiresome/repetitive argument about semantics. Yes we know football existed before 1992 but you also have to accept getting to the top division now is a vastly different prospect to before, in terms of getting there, staying there, and the situation when you come back down. With the investment we've had and where we've been in the divisions it's pretty shocking the closest we've got is one playoff final and that's it. There are a few teams on that list we're comparable to... Even though a lot of us would like to think we're bigger than them... But not too many. I do feel we're getting closer now though, so if we're still on the list in 10 years that'll be (even more) ridiculous.
  18. Does that mean they're actually counting time on the ball rather than passes made (which is I think how a lot of sites calculate it)?
  19. Jay has a lot of excellent attributes - among the best in our squad in some cases I think. He also has some weaknesses, and areas of his game that can be improved. That's why he's a Championship player! You can't question his attitude though. If he combine that with finding a team who will take advantage of his qualities then he'll do very well - and I hope he does as I like him a lot. That's not the direction we're heading in as a team, and I'm glad we're letting go good players who don't fit our ethos/strategy now, rather than holding on to them "just in case". People saying he's "terrible" at some things - give it a rest. As I said, he's a Championship player with strengths and weaknesses and has done consistently pretty well for us as a club on the pitch. Good luck to him, I think Coventry will be a decent fit, and if it is they've got themselves a good and tidy player who I reckon could do easily a job in the top half of the table.
  20. I don't think that's a fact at all. Sky just pocketed less cash than they would have - they will push their prices up as much as they possibly can get away with regardless. They're not keeping them low because they're thinking "Oh we've made loads of dosh this year let's give Joe Bloggs a break on his bill next year and not raise it". If sky get 5x the subscribers next year I am SURE they will not be dropping their price by 20% or whatever as a result, they'll be Scrooge McDuck diving into an even bigger vat of gold coins.
  21. I had a look at their forum earlier and someone had posted a list of the teams in the Championship for next season clearly in alphabetical order. Two posters were then somehow arguing about Birmingham winning it and West Brom finishing bottom, so I'd take what their fans say with a pinch of salt...

    Playoffs

I'm not saying it matters, I'm asking why it's happening now as it never used to as far as I'm aware. I wondered if there was a reason why.

    Playoffs

Why are they having drinks breaks halfway through a half, isn't it like 18 degrees in London and (edit: half) the pitch is in the shade? Have I missed something?
