It really shows though just how threadbare our squad is and what constraints Pearson is working in. As soon as we even pick a few players or change it up it goes to shit - it's all very well saying change it up (and broadly people seemed pretty happy when it was announced) but if this is what happens then what can he do? Players like Low and Kadji are our backups at the moment in some positions.

The fact we have to give two shits how good or bad he is though is squarely on us though, doesn't sound like that's any kind of reason tonight for the stuff we've had to witness

I'm a big Pearson supporter but he needs to sort this total mess out. Get into them at half time, make a few good, proactive subs and make sure we win this game. We should be beating Lincoln, no excuses.

I live 20 mins walk away and I'm not going because I don't want to. I work full time and have a young family. I've been to every home game this year (paying £600 for my ST in the process) as far as I can remember, and pay to watch every away one. Maybe that means I'm not a fan by your definition? If so then fine!

I think the "so what" is to have a discussion about it, not that anyone expects you to be actually picking the new manager for the club. That's not a weird question to follow up with for me when someone thinks the manager isn't doing well enough. I think in a few steps: Are there managers out there who would do better than Pearson? Yes, definitely. He's not the greatest manager in the world, obviously. Would they be interested by Bristol City? Some, probably. Would they work under the intense financial constraints? A few, perhaps. Would they also be capable of having the experience/input into the rest of the club as Pearson is? Mmmm, maybe a couple? It's a big combination of factors that I think Pearson is about as good as it's going to be for now. Someone may just get the first team performing a bit better, but if that's at the expense of the other work that's a short term view for me. Each step in our chain above severely reduces the candidates. Of course though I'm not saying nobody else could do the above, but I reckon we'd be taking a serious gamble and if it didn't pay off (and the odds would be pretty low) it'd be disaster, relegation, and god knows what - as it was the last couple of times we were in a similar situation. I think that's partly why people want to know who you think would be a good replacement - we have a lot of boxes we need ticking, encompassing a really varied role compared to the manager/head coach at other clubs. It's a pretty small list imo.

A few great performances, a few poor/anonymous ones, and a good deal of luck. Can't continue like this in the second half!

The issue is though that he's been too far infield or dashed forward into midfield - not that he's been too far right to cover Semenyo. As Tinns just said, he's now doing the same and dragging Weimann over in the process to cover the gap. I'm sure he'll sort it, he's been good recently.
