This is why he shouldn't of been put in the position he's in. 1 he's not qualified to take such a position and 2 it's going to ruin or has everything we remember him for as a player. The way I look at it he's made a big mistake and done himself no favours.

I think you’ve quoted the wrong post mate.

The Chief got a lot of unnecessary stick here, but when he left, he seemed to spent the majority of his career in a higher division than Bristol City.

Remember, he's the reason we got that replay at Anfield.

One of my first favourite players, I loved him! I used to take a wheelchair user to away games, and when he was at the end of his career at Chesterfield he was warming up in front of us I got him to sign my programme and had a chat with him.

    He’s just sad.

Like you I see Paul as far more “pro” the regime than most, so this is just pathetic.

No way is he blocking Patch “I’ve got our bean counter on my podcast today” Warner, he wouldn’t criticise the club if they started randomly talking people out of the Dolman & shooting them on the halfway line.

Speaking of being blocked on X, anyone else here found themselves blocked by SL despite having never interacted with him on there?

  4. I’ve completely lost respect for him, he’s in a job he’s no way qualified for, he’s a history of stabbing people in the back, (read Danny Wilson’s autobiography and listen to what Nige said to Sam Allardyce for prime examples of this) he also seems to be a favourite of SL’s, which to me is never a sign of competence.

Loved him as a player, but as a manager he was a disaster, he was in a job that he was perfect for in the academy, to be a technical director of a championship club is a job that he’s massively unqualified for with his track record. Should the club ever be taken over, you’d like to think he’d be the first one out the door.

Does it matter if he did a good or bad job at Dons...we are not judging his managerial performance, we are respecting his passing. Rest in peace.

Do you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and smile just to get it out the way?

  6. I remember when he was manager at Luton, he was walking across the pitch back to the dugout at Kenilworth Road after half time, he got a rendition of “you fat bastard” from our end, he stopped, opened his coat, stuck his belly out and started rubbing it! Suffice to say he then got a standing ovation from us. RIP.

People on Twitter banging on about the blue away kit, is that not purple? Or am I losing the plot?

Definitely a purple tinge if the above pic is anything to go by.

...with the "Steve Lansdown needs to come back and sort this out"?

He's THE BIGGEST ****ING PROBLEM OF ALL!!!

And also, if you haven't noticed, he washed his hands of it some while ago.

    SELL. UP. AND. ****. OFF.

100% this, SL has used our club as an extension of his ego for years, crap decisions, wanting people who’re best for him and not the club. Massively over estimating his own knowledge of football and treating the clubs loyal fans as peasants who to him are contemptible.

I’ve been worried about the club being bought by foreign investors who’d ruin it, but now I realise that SL and his “circle of trust” are doing a damn good job of that. People will point to his investment, but it’s his atrocious decisions that have led to him having to invest millions.

  9. A driver who used to deliver into a place I worked years ago used to refer to his wife as the The Junkyard Dog! I asked him why one day, and he said it was because when he met her she was hornier than a Junkyard Dog!

    Arthur Holmes, mate.

Absolutely dodgy as **** what went on then, though to be clear it only enabled them to steal the remaining 50% of the ground.

They had recently entered into a partnership with Bristol rugby & had bought 50%, which very soon became all of it for just a further £10k.

Scandalous, but from a club that tried to buy Ashton Gate from the creditors in ‘82 not exactly a surprise.

    Parasites.

I remember the Evening Post at the time saying how wonderful them getting the Mem was, no mention that one of this cities biggest sporting institutions was close to going out of business. My late father always hated them more than he loved City, which I found to be the case with a lot of fans from an older generation.

As someone who’s been passionate about Bristol Rugby for nearly as long as I have about City, this was the moment when I really got why he despised them so much. For me, the longer they stay there and the more dilapidated it is, the better. Sanctimonius, deluded assholes.

Does the stats on our attendances give us serious credence for somehow getting the capacity increased to ~30,000?

There seems to have been a lot of talk about the number of u12 season tickets restricting normal pay on the day ticket purchases, but would a higher capacity mitigate that?

I’d imagine that if we began to seriously challenge for promotion to the PL then that would definitely become a priority.

    That shirt / kit 🔥

I cannot believe the Club don’t do (Sadly , I guess I do) a , even small, range of ‘Classic’ shirts ,

if not a range then that shirt -

    they would fly out

I totally agree, Score Draw have a range of classic Bukta shirts for Wolves and Crystal Palace, there’s 3 great City Bukta shirts that would go down a storm.

Will this be our biggest away fixture gate since Wembley playoff? ( sorry to bring it up)

We took a fair few up to the Etihad Stadium for the League Cup semi final didn’t we? 8,000 wasn’t it?

Brilliant find thanks, have watched these before but couldn’t remember this.

One question I have as someone who is fascinated with football during the 70s up to mid 80s is why have the BBC not made the match of the day archives available to purchase? It’s great to watch the BIg Match when it is on but so many games and goals I  and other later have never seen will be on the bbc equivalent?

I’m sure Match Of The 70’s was available to buy on vhs back in the 90’s, it would be brilliant if the BBC put them on iplayer. There’s still quite a few of them on YouTube, but as they’re uploaded from old vhs tapes, the picture quality isn’t always the best.
