Downside for next year; The three clubs coming down from the Prem are all good enough to finish in the top 6 of the CCC. Preston & Norwich flirted with relegation, changed managers and improved to mid table status, so they may be surprise packages next time. Watford, Palace, Wolves & Ipswich remain strong teams. Forest, Swansea & (presumably) Leeds will all pose a threat as well so that's 12 teams all competing against City for a top 6 finish. Upside; They'll all be concerned about playing Bristol City.
