Thank You Alex Russell

A lot of people forget the key role he played in keeping us up from league one in Johnsons first season and his important role last year in getting us promoted climaxing with the winning goal in that Rotherham match. A tireless midfielder, with an all round game. City only lost one match in which Russell started

Good luck

I always think it's such a shame when players go like this that we can never say 'goodbye and thank you'. For example 2 players from Bath rugby were given a good send off yesterday as they were moving on, shame it doesn't happen that way in football. Even mid season a player can be here for a game and gone the next with no goodbyes.

Great footballer with an eye for the game. With Alex and Noble in central midfield two seasons ago we played our most entertaining football for years.

Moments of magic setting up Scott for the early winner against Millwall (h) and Noble for his second against Rotherham.

All the best!

could of at times seen him maybe getting a game this season... despite the age.

had an eye for a pass, and created an awful lot of goals in our promotion season.

Forget torquay, i can see league 1 player easy.

pace wasnt his game, and as far as ive seen, still has his touch.

good luck, you did it for us, and we'll forever be thankfull!

One of the most creative midfielders we've had at the club in the past ten years. Unlucky that he has had to compete this season for a place in the side with the likes of Elliott, Johnson & Carle. Aggy would probably walk into - and boss - most midfields in the football league. Good luck!

totally agree with all above, one of the best midfielders we have had in past 10 years and certainly underused in last year.

Best of luck Alex and thanks for the the good football you gave us, always be a welcome for you at the Gate.

Yep thanks Aggy always a big fan of yours and you turned our season round when you came back from Injury. Scored a cracking goal V Forest as well hope to see you get a new club soon.

Its not coincidence that he is highly regarded by Torquay and Brentford fans a true professional of the lower leagues and someone I feel could have played much higher 10 years ago.

Top player and a gentleman. THought he may have been kept on by the club in a non playing capacity. He has the temperment and experience to be a great development coach. Only guess he would prefer to continue playing and why not.

Best wishes and many thanks. You made a difference here.

Amen to all that's been said. Thanks Alex for being a BCFC player, always enjoyed your performances and stamina.

No suprise that we hardly ever lost with you in our side, shame you didn't get more games.

Good luck to you in the future.
