Giant Flag For Meteb Anyone?

Wondering whether anyone else thinks it might make emad feel welcome if he runs out for the first time at AG and sees a giant flag in the EE with some suitable message of welcome on it. I know we were planning something for wembley until we encountered the 'nothing bigger than a ******* face cloth rule' rule - but on our own patch, we shouldnt have any such probs? Plus its on sky innit?

No abusive comments at this early stage in the process please - save them in case its an idea that a few people are interested in - then you can abuse many people in one go!

Nah, leave it out. This is going a bit far all this Meteb love. Why not get Williams a flag made up if Meteb gets one?

Because, Meteb is not only leaving a different country, but a totally different culture. He's leaving a club he has been at since the age of 12, to go to a country which is nothing like Egypt - it'll be a totally different world to him.

Also when players sign over there they usually have thousands of fans turn up when they sign.

Maybe this might make him feel a little bit more at home?? and show our support at the same time?

Exactly - Basso was used to the English way of life when he signed for us, Meteb will have been here 3 weeks at best. Even an Egyptian flag would make him feel welcome and the sooner he can feel settled the sooner the goals will come.

Fantastic idea, anything that will help him settle in has to be good.

Happy to contribute.

We didn't welcome Basso with a Brazilian flag? They've just started appearing since he's played well.

Wake up smell the coffee and get with the real world mate for christs sake.

Basso was in this country having trials with different clubs, this is totally different. We are talking a bloke who has been with 1 club since 12 years of age, who although excited, must be crapping himself at the same time. New country, new culture, different weather, people, currency, attitudes etce etc etc....surely the least we can do is a flag for the bloke to make him feel welcome.

Have a heart FFS Eamer !!

Eamer why are you always so negative about everything also one to talk stood in front of a Brazil flag in your avatar. Leave it out pal if others want to do something just because you are a self confessed keyboard warrior if you don't agree to something don't fricken post on the subject surely its that simple or is it you ??

I also wuld like to add that i think its a fab idea make him feel as welcome as possible as soon as possible it can only help him settle in quicker

I think that ' مرحبا بكم في مدينة بريستول Emad! ' would be good, which roughly translates as 'welcome to Bristol...(and it's not hard to understand the last bit). Anyone know how you would write his name in Arabic?

His name in Arabic is عماد متعب

i hope he doesnt get the hump with all this egyptian nationalism

I hope this wasn't a poor attempt of a joke but if so, get your coat sir :D

But the Emad welcome flag is a great idea! Would really help him to settle in and probably help him to score goals!

And I agree with some of you -- lighten up Eamer

You all thinks that Egypt is desert and camels no farms no factories no any thing !!!!!!!!! All Egyptians becomes sad when they hear this words.

Called into Egypt a year or so ago on a round the med cruise; didnt do the pyramid tourist (armed escort) thing but walked around Alexandria saw magnificent buildings and friendly people in the back street markets. There are also the nasties as there are also everywhere.

Everyone trying to "get by" and make a living same as many countries.

Please don't put us "all" in the same boat, we aint all the same neither are your Nationals.

As for Emad never heard of him until a few months ago I for one am not going to build him up as the one who may take us to a different level, (although he may help);if we go up it will be a squad/supporters/manager/trainer everyone who will contribute not just ONE.

You seem a nice guy, but don't take some of the comments on here to heart :farmer:
